Dr The Singh Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 Sod that, I'm more and more tending to the question "What are our fans thinking?". I was thinking of sex
Fox Ulike Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 Could be not have thought outside the box? Drinky and king as holding midfielders with someone like Nugent, Knocky, Albrighton etc as an advanced creative midfielder, with may Ulloe upfront and Vardy and Schlupp either side? Couldnt have been any less effective could it. When the going gets tough he lacks the imagination and thinking to get through it, whether that be injuries or the two very long runs of defeats he struggled to halt. I believe he is a pretty limited manager that is OK picking a decent steady 11, but has few answers when the steady 11 becomes ineffective or suffers injuries. The weird thing about Pearson though is that he seems to do all the difficult things really well. He is a leader who commands the respect of his players. He has brought some real gems into the club (Mahrez, Knockaert, James etc), However, the simple things he fluffs up. His complete lack of recognition that 95% of other Premiership teams will line up with 3 central midfielders is incredibly frustrating... and has cost us time and time again this season. As you say we could have easily played 3 on Saturday despite the injuries. Schlupp could of played as the attacking midfielder with King and Drinky behind, In-form Albrighton on the wing, and top-scorer Ulloa the target man. The really frustrating thing is that he'll probably revert to a 3 against Man United, we'll play really well and lose 1-0. It's Stoke at home where we need to play our best team with a solid formation. We can try 442 away at Man U if he wants cos there's not much to lose.
Clever Fox Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 I'm a big fan of Pearson. However what totally surprised me was he clearly didn't know our strengths and weaknesses at the start of the season. This even applies now. How long did he persevere with KS in goal when many of us were calling for Hamner to be given a chance. Equally he doesn't seem to know what Albrighton can bring to the Team when again it's obvious that we need quality crosses from the wing, we he can deliver. He;s got to go and get the quality midfielder we need to provide the service for the forwards. As clearly what we have aren't doing it often enough.

bostonfox1 Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 I can here Mark Hughes pre match team talk! Right boys, do you remember playing these in January in the cup, we dominated possession and ran out comfortable winners! Well they are playing their championship team from last season today! with only Simpson instead of de leat which is actually a bonus because the Simpson lad never gets over the half way line! He must of thought it was Xmas when he saw our chumpionship line up!

Babylon Posted 23 January 2015 Posted 23 January 2015 It's Stoke at home where we need to play our best team with a solid formation. So best team and solid formation = playing a winger go forward go left back in central midfield. This management thing is easy with hind sight isn't it. You're the best manager in the world mate, keep it up.
DennisNedry Posted 31 January 2015 Author Posted 31 January 2015 Have to bring this thread up again today. Playing Vardy is utterly bizarre considering his awful form. Albrighton's deliveries are so dangerous, why is he not starting and then coming on for Ulloa who's so good in the air? Drinkwater-King partnership is stupid at Man Utd away, so lightweight. Should have put Hammond in there, not King. We miss James so much.
