This was unprovoked and both men had young children in tow. The Stoke fan did nothing wrong but an lcfc fan did this so it works both ways. Out of order that

Out of order that Yes let's not kid ourselves that we have any better supporters than other teams,every club has it's fair share of ar******s including us.
davieG Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 The Stoke fans are always trouble away, like Norwich with us why didn't the club reduce their allocation. Why do fans feel the need to cause trouble, they are responsible for the actions of the police. Maybe they should of been held back after the game, don't really see that happen anywhere anymore, and I'm sure somebody would challenge it, being held against their will, why should the majority of law abiding fans be delayed for the actions of a few. I would assume the group surrounded, were probaly identified as trouble makers and contained, hence why some fans were allowed to make their way home. I don't know, I wasn't their but controlling the amount of idiots that Stoke brought, and protecting the majority of the 31000 isn't easy I imagine. The point was in the way the controlled them forming a circle of police around the entrance to allow a large group to gather, including innocent fans just exacerbated the problem giving the Stoke fans the ideal opportunity to make a fuss and goad the home supporters who were now forced to try to pass them in a much reduced space. so it wasn't just a group it was everyone using that exit, I could see no benefit in the option they used and they could have achieved the same thing by not allowing them out of the ground. Certainly as a home fan who always passes away fans exiting the ground I felt threatened by this approach and it was quite feasible to see that the Stoke fans were getting angrier and where easily capable of breaking though the police barrier, I wanted to get past as quick as possible but I couldn't because of the congested home fans squeezing though a narrow gap between the police ring and the away coaches.
wight88 Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Have long thought it a good idea to build an access path from where Aylestone Road and saffron lane meet going across the raw dykes directly to the kop and also one across the river to the great central way. Am sure there's all sorts of jobsworth reasons why common sense and logical thinking cannot be employed here.

Corralling the Stoke fans outside the ground exacerbated the problem of large numbers of fans from the west side of the stadium moving eastwards and vice versa, as there was a lot less space to move in. The (understandable) increasing agitation of the Stoke fans didn't make it any easier. I go to matches on my own, rarely have any problems.

This was at about 6:30pm, ten police cars and vans all with flashing lights on lining the front, 50 odd on foot inside....do they not realise that sort of thing makes people worry something genuinely bad has happened?!?

Did you see platform 2? Around a couple of hundred Stoke fans waiting to board the train to Derby, plod had walked them from down near Fenwicks where something had happened to the station. I'd say the more plod around there the safer your Saturday shopper would feel going home by train.

Makes more sense but still, seemed a lot for a few.
