CKB Posted 9 March 2015 Author Posted 9 March 2015 As you can see we now have a 5 game backlog from week 1 and 2, i can't stress enough how i'd really appreciate these games being done this week as anymore backlog makes my job harder, i don't wanna start handing default wins out yet so please try get them in!

Depay 45' PEN equalised with probably the worst refereeing decision to award a penalty this season Benteke 67' powerful header from a corner N'Zogbia 79' with another free kick on the edge of the area that smashed against the bar and down with the goal line technology showing that the ball crossed the line before bouncing clear. Lcfclad2013 Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 Fereynoord 2-2 Southampton Basacikoglu 22' manu 83' - pelle 19' ellia 70' Man of match frazer forster 9.7 Pelle open up the proceedings on 19th min with a well placed shot, Basacikoglu scored shortly after 22nd minute then fonte fouled manu in the box and missed the penalty. Elia scored late into the second half after fereynoord kept knocking on the door with Frazer forster having a great game 70th min. Finally fereynoord got a very late but deserved goal manu 83rd minute. Again fereynoord could feel down hearted not to win with plenty of shots 13 to Southamptons 3.

It finished 2-2. 19' Pelle scored after a 1-2 with Schneiderlin 22' Basacikoglu scored a half volley after a chipped through ball. 30' Basacikoglu missed a penalty after a clumsy challenge from Fonte. 70' Elia scored a rocket into the top right. 83' Manu scored a driven shot after a poor clearance from Southampton. Feyenoord had more shots but were unable to go ahead.

CKB Posted 10 March 2015 Author Posted 10 March 2015 You can certainly rely on Southampton to give you an entertaining game and this was the case once again as they were involved in an action packed 2-2 draw with Feyenoord. Pelle 19' opened up the proceedings with a well placed shot after a one, two with Schneiderlin but Basacikoglu equalised in the 22nd minute after a chipped through ball found him and he scored with a half volley. In the 30th minute Fonte made a clumsy challenge in the penalty area a pen was given and up stepped Basacikoglu to make it 2-1? NO! his pen was saved by the impressive Man Of The Match Fraser Forster. The teams went into the break at 1-1, more chances were seen at either end but it was Southampton who took the lead in the 70th minute when Elia scored a rocket into the top right hand corner! Could Southampton hold on? Feyenoord were pressing and pressing for an equaliser and it came in the 83rd minute when a poor clearance fell to Manu who scored a driven shot past Forster to make it 2-2, that's Manu's 4th goal so far in the league. Feyenoord pressed for a winner but the Saints saw the game out and it ended 2-2Aston Villa heaped more misery on a PSV side that has yet to win a game this season with a 3-1 win. Kozak 22' opened the scoring with a cool one on one finish, the keeper got a touch but not enough to deflect it wide. Then in a moment of controversy PSV were awarded a penalty in the 45th minute, fans and pundits were calling it a shocking decision and the Villa boss wasn't happy either or his players, Depay stepped up and made it 1-1. PSV would have been buoyed by that but in the 67th minute a corner was swung in and Benteke rose highest and powered his header in, to make it 2-1 & to give him his fourth goal so far this season. It was game over in the 79th minute when goal line technology was called upon when N'Zogbia's free kick smashed against the bar and down, it had crossed the line before bouncing clear and that made it 3-1. The PSV boss wasn't happy with the free kick decision either, it's fair to say the officials certainly were talking point of this game!Aston Villa and Sporting Lisbon played out a 1-1 draw, which kept Lisbon and Villa in the hunt for top spot. It was 0-0 going into half time and in the 51st minute Montero with his fourth goal of the campaign put Lisbon ahead. Sporting then gave away a cheap free kick in the 79th minute and N'Zogbia made them pay with his second goal in as many games! the Sporting boss was furious with his defence. A few chances where seen for both sides to win it after but it ended 1-1

Benteke had a 1v1 that was well saved but that plus the goals were my only shots of the game. Don't recall my keeper having to make a save either and the stats show Besiktas were limited to two shots. The goals were against the run of play in that the game was played in the midfield, ball came to Sinclair who crossed it to the back post were Sanchez nodded it down for Kozak to volley home. The next goal was similar in that it found Sinclair on the right, his cross was blocked out for a corner and Kozak thumped home a header.

Or just expand the league if the interest is there? And if you remain could to change your team? I think I'd get bored with Villa

Seems like with the lower rated fereynoord some players just don't have the clinical ability to take there chances apart from manu. Good write up though chris

Unfortunately with all the graphics, etc I do, it means nothing if people aren't bothered & not pro active enough Well a week is enough time to get your games in unless there are extenuating and unforeseen circumstances. If a week isn't enough time then people shouldn't really be signing up in the first place. It might take a few 'seasons' to identify those that can commit and those that can't but I'm sure it will get there - there's already a number of posters that have said they are interested when this season ends
