Pearson should see out the season

Recommended Posts

I like Pearson.

If he had better players we would be safely in mid table by now.

Sure, he is feeling the pressure and its affecting his behaviour and decision making.

Hopefully, now there is "no way back" both him and the players can lighten up a bit and restore a little bit of dignity.

He should have brought some better players when he had the chance then.

Can people please stop banging on about Albrighton. He's really not very good.

Oh and by the way what an utterly ridiculous thread!

But he is better than schlupp and laurence, which is more the point

Thought he actually had an okay January. Signed one of the most promising young strikers a club of our size can afford, brought in an experienced CB who's looked very good whenever he's played, added depth to goalkeeper position. We won 3, drew 1 and lost 2 games during that month. I'd hardly call that a disastrous January.

Overhaul the team? Seriously? I don't get it. Yes we've been very poor this season but I find it highly unlikely that an "overhaul" is required. I'd rather we re-grouped, added a few players to replace the few that will leave and then start to find our feet in the Championship, ready to come back stronger. We've played some very good games this season, unfortunately, they've been a rarity, but the point is, there were times when we looked good. Are we willing to throw that all away and start again?

Short-term answer always appears to be to sack the manager and "rebuild" the team whereas really, it's the long term we need to look at. Getting relegated could potentially be a blessing in disguise. Just look at 8 years ago, getting relegated into League 1 was a wake up call.

People are angry, I get that but we have a squad capable of getting promoted again IF we keep them together. I've watched a fair few Championship games this season and rarely do I see the quality that Leicester, Burnley or QPR had last year. The second time we lost in the play-offs, we didn't overhaul the whole squad, we kept majority of the players together and came back stronger.

Does this include keeping the manager. In my opinion, yes.

Who built this team, his side, his look out.

Respect that you like him, but for me he's been shocking on and off the pitch, and doesn't warrant having the job, and many would have lost their job a long time ago, better managers than pearson at that.

we dont know for sure who was to blame for our pathetic recruitment in the summer, was it the owners being overly cautious, a wage cap?, terry robinson, pearson?

Not Pearsons fault if the job goes beyond his pay grade - he's no experience in the Premier League.. the way he's chosen to play the team was technically good, the players not so good...

The real blame lay at the owners feet? Should've - could've done something about it before Christmas but didn't (well I say didn't seems like someone had the nerve to pull the plug on Pearson few weeks back but obviously got overuled??)

Anyhows their money... just a big monumental let down for the fans...

Think you hit the nail on the head - owners being overly cautious... boasting they had £180 Million available for players when we were promoted, then bottling it in January window because of our position... Pearson is a good manager, needs  to leave and become assistant manager at one of the established clubs... 3 or 4 seasons and he should then be ready as good premiership manager....

If we keep this side, rather than overhaul it, for next season then that would surely be the most short-term solution possible, considering their average age was 29 yesterday and we have a number of first team regulars who are in their mid-30s or older (Schwarzer, Konchesky, Wasilewski, Cambiasso, Upson).

Either way, the side we're going down with isn't the one we came up with. Dyer is gone, Mahrez and Knockaert will most probably be gone, Konchesky and Wasilewski either gone or even deeper into the winter of their careers, many players will be demoralised and going into the season without having played week-in week-out  in the partnerships they formed last year (Drinkwater-James, Nugent-Vardy, Moore-Morgan, De Laet-Mahrez etc.). Plus their belief in their manager will naturally not be what it was, nor even necessarily in their own ability (the likes of Drinkwater believed that they would go up and make the grade - to go up and not make the grade is a massive blow to anyone).

One that not only did you read, but commented on, well done. I thought it was a football forum, what do you suggest we talk about, new fillings for wagon wheels, cheese based snacks?

At the moment, hes a much better option to have than the inexperienced Lawrence. Why not talk about it? Its fvcking stupid how he's not even in the matchday squad these days. More than good enough.

So I'm not allowed to read a thread and comment on it if I think it's ridiculous? Especially given that the title says "Pearson should see out the season" you wouldn't expect some idiot to be ranting on about how we should keep Pearson to try and ruin his CV. Utterly pathetic.

Yes, you're right. New fillings for wagon wheels and cheese based snacks are the only possible alternative topics. It's not like there's many things for Leicester fans to talk about at this moment apart from that and ruining Pearson's CV. Bravo on such a well thought out and insightful topic.

It's utter hypocrisy to suggest you can talk about whatever you want but I'm not allowed to come on here and disagree with you, saying this thread is ridiculous. It is ridiculous! I'm not saying you can't talk about it. I'm just providing my opinion that what you've said is ridiculous. And it is.

There's so much bile in parts of this forum towards the manager. Some of you don't deserve to be supporting a Premier League club. Can people want a manager to leave without being so hateful? It seems to me that some manage it. Can't you?

He seems to be the first thing people mention. I think he probably deserves a better chance but some talk about him like a saviour. I can guarantee you if he'd been playing the whole season we would be in not better a position right now. The problems lie much deeper that Marc Albrighton's omission.

Now that Pearson has well and truly fvcked this club up, I want him to stay until the season is over, and prove to us all, that he is just Premier league failure. Shame on him!

Being spiteful and malicious just shows you to be an utter A-hole. He got things wrong, it hasn't worked out and he needs to go but I'm pretty sure that he wanted this season to be better more than you ever did.

lol  I don't think so. "Spiteful and malicious" apply more to some of the things he's said this season, dragging our club's good name through the mud.

You are more than welcome to your opinion of me, but there are two sides to this story, not just one. Perhaps you just don't condone such comments as "fvck off and die" I certainly don't, and will applaud the day when he is sacked, for that alone.

I think out of his depth and unable to handle criticism apply to Pearson but I'll stick to spiteful and malicious in relation to your earlier post.
