  1. Aston Villa signing Garnacho. Emery loves these underwhelming ex Man United wingers.
  2. And you cannot just buy your way to it now. You can't overspend in the EFL and take a fine in the Premier League now as we have done previously- you would receive a potentially pivotal points deduction. If owners are sensible they would look at building the club up, improving the stadium, attracting good sponsorship and commercial deals. We failed hugely to maximise our potential earnings during the successful period and it has left us with no insurance in a decline. We are an attractive investment but no huge hitter will be interested.
  3. Jesus Christ. They took over (in absolutely horrific circumstances) a brilliant situation and we now sit on the brink of financial ruin. Had ample opportunities to change and failed to each time. It is astonishing levels of ineptitude. Yet people inside and outside the club still feel sympathy for them. It is staggering.
  4. I think you'll do well to find private firms completely independent from the ruling families in that part of the world.
  5. Incorrect spelling and use of emojis is elite level, though.
  6. Not bothered about dominating the game (we can't anyway), I just want a well run club playing good football and competing in the Premier League. If the current ownership had been any shape of competent we wouldn't need this.
  7. I doubt a nation state would be interested.
  8. What we desperately need is savvy busineas and football people. We lose out significantly against other clubs in those departments. Aiyawatt and Rudkin took over a fantastic position and have blown it. Don't feel for them. They are in this position through their own doing.
  9. Jeff Stelling and Ben Jacobs on TalkSport both substituting t's for d's in words. Compedishun, Man Ciddy, Lessder Ciddy.
  10. Ice Valley now.
  11. Had some memorable moments, nowhere near the worst culprit for last season but we need as big a refresh as possible.
  12. Some players are synonymous with him too- Rob Lee and Phillippe Albert who you only really associate with Kevin Keegan. Quite fitting that Newcastle v Liverpool is the opening match.
  13. Hopefully it is finally hitting home that the club needs to be run and operated differently?
  14. Obviously it was known he was ill but still tough to hear it. I do wonder if his lack of public appearances has made him difficult to age, if that makes sense? Virtually all clips of him are from his playing and managing days where he was younger and still vibrant. An iconic figure in the sport and even beyond.
  15. His interviews after the 4-3 defeat to Liverpool and his resignation from the England job summed him up. A genuine, open, up front bloke whereas we now have a lot of charlatans and snake oil salesmen. Imagine there are a lot of Newcastle supporters around my age because of him and don't forget the job he did at Man City- not perfect but they certainly weren't any sort of force in the game back then and he began to stabilise them. A huge loss. RIP.
