Lionator Posted 22 December 2012 Posted 22 December 2012 We don't want to admit but we all know it. Our support is absolutely shambolic. I'm not talking about attendances, I'm talking about attitude. Apart from L1 and a few kids in the family stand, there is literally no noise that comes from anywhere in the ground apart from when we score. Oh except booing when we've lost or are losing in a game when we deservedly should be winning or to have a rant at a ref whose probably got 99% of decisions correct. Let's get an atmosphere going, lets make the KP into a cauldron where teams are intimidated and most importantly get behind our own team when things aren't going well. Three times this season I have got into arguments with different people for standing up in excitement when we have an opportunity to score, their reactions each time eventually were to get a steward to eject us from the ground, fortunately the stewards were having none of it. Secondly is the attitude towards the management and players. What is this obsession we have towards sacking managers? 5th in the league at Christmas. I'd have taken that back in August. As Geoff Peters said on the forum the other night, other clubs can't believe our negative feelings towards our current squad and management setup. We are a laughing stock. If we don't go up then fair enough, start afresh next season but crikey give Pearson a chance. We were extremely unlucky today and had we have converted one of those early chances today, we'd be talking about a different story now. Keep the faith.
Mark_w Posted 22 December 2012 Posted 22 December 2012 Well said. I could cope with the lack of atmosphere, it's the fact that instead we have such a negative one aimed at our own players when things aren't going well, that I can't stand.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 22 December 2012 Posted 22 December 2012 Spot on mate. SK4 was giving it a pretty good go too though, but booing? Shocker. Booing when AK was replaced was bloody silly too... Keep the faith is exactly it...
Yojoe36 Posted 22 December 2012 Posted 22 December 2012 Same for me. I'm a ST holder, and I always get different people sitting behind me. It's been a couple of times now over the seasons where when we've had a shot on goal and I jump up a bit in excitement because... I dunno, I'm at a fvcking football match, and some boring plonker behind me asks me to keep down because he can't see. If you said that in the double decker, then you'd be completely out of place. In terms of singing, it's been shit for years. Now people just turn up, say nothing all game then just boo after the full-time whistle. I understand that some people don't like to sing, which is fine. I only really join in with the chanting at away games. But nowadays, the only thing I hear is just negativity. I'm sick to death of it. Our "fans" are shit.
Haydos Posted 22 December 2012 Posted 22 December 2012 Misplaced sense of entitlement due to a bit of cash and some fancy new features at the club. Serious short-term-ist attitude from a huge number of fans which is where the increasing level of fickleness has its roots. Impatience. Calling for a new manager every time we have a few poor results doesn't achieve anything. Hindsight is fantastic, yeah, but when we've had manager after manager who have failed to produce anything of note and the only one who puts us in a decent position not just during one stint in charge but two is being berated by a number of fans every time we have a sticky patch. It just beggars belief.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 22 December 2012 Posted 22 December 2012 It's for these reasons I'm actually starting to not like LCFC. I like home games when we win, but more often than not it's just a horrible place to go. Real shame - shows how bad its got - Board, Manager, Team = great/fine. But I really dislike and don't understand the mindset of huge portions of our fanbase. Put it this way, if I wasn't a LCFC fan I think I'd love to hate the club. We're a right laughing stock right now!
Danizen Posted 22 December 2012 Posted 22 December 2012 We're no better/worse than 90% of British grounds. I didn't hear any booing when Knocky came off, though. I can't abide wankers who want to stop other people enjoying the match. Tell them to fooking move.

At the beginning of the season they would really argue a point and it seems as though they have had a word in their ear. More agreeing with callers, more raising points that seem to be in any way negative towards the team, management or players - even if just speculation. I understand this thread is about the stadium atmosphere, but if I hear another 'well I've been a season ticket holder for 35 years....' Or ' I wasn't at the game today buutttt...' Playing into the hands of , lets face it, a hell of a lot of fans who would rather have something to moan about. E.G those whose only contribution is to boo their own side for no reason.

L1 were pitiful today, although that wasn't a great surprise with the numbers Cardiff brought.

Leicester_Numan Posted 22 December 2012 Posted 22 December 2012 Much better thread than all the Pearson out ones.
Poakey Posted 22 December 2012 Posted 22 December 2012 Cardiff fans were pretty good though? Yeah, took more then anyone else this season(inc forest and derby) and loud.
ccfcritchie Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 The one thing I can say is I don't know the stands at your place to well but I will say that putting the family stand by the away stand is a ****ing killer atmosphere wise We have a good atmosphere down at the cardiff city stadium but it is nothing compared to our old place ninian park and the old heads always go on about how shit our atmosphere is so your not alone , loved the drummer by the way .. Was drowned out as soon as he started
Danizen Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 shocking support. rip leicester city fc. And the award for hyperbole of the day goes to....Well done, lad. You've beaten off some stiff competition.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Sk4 is crap. Muppets singing that crappy cringey celtic just can't get enough.
lestajigs Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Cardiff fans were pretty good though? I thought they were shite tbf

I'm a moron for it but I can't resist listening to RL after home games almost to laugh at it, and their topic "should Pearson go?". Could you imagine if you'd done an away game on a coach, they've put the local radio on when their team is FIFTH and that was the topic? The coach would be absolutely pissing themselves. We're a disgrace at the minute. I'm thoroughly embarrassed.
glen parva fox Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 I sit in L section, was pitiful, no one except the lads round Jobber really sang, every time I looked round there was more interest iin their mobiles and texting.as for the confetti think I was the only person to take time out and join in. Really disappointed with the majority of Leicester fans once again.
cafe Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Same applies to us.We will be there in fine voice against you and then Leeds-due to Nige and then Leeds being a nasty bunch of stewards.Otherwise the moan and groan brigade soon surface. To put things in context we were brilliant in 1965-66 with (according to Saint and Greavsie)the best forward line after Best,Law and Charlton.Still had fans in flat caps grumbling they will never be back to watch rubbish like that again! BUT give me people who follow their local team any day over the glory hunters. You lot may be shite but at least you are local shite. Did I mention Pearson is crap
