Koke Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 I think I'd have decked him one after about 20 seconds. How on earth can you speak to someone like that regardless the situation?
Koke Posted 5 February 2009 Author Posted 5 February 2009 Never knew it was such a long time ago btw.
Head Honcho Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 I thought there was a law against bullying in the workplace! What a nasty piece of work-used to like the guy as well.
Darkzzz_ Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 What a ****. I wouldn't have been able to tolerate that.
Alexikokopops Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 I read about this the other day. It'd take all my restraint not to pull stupid faces in his line of vision next time he was doing a scene
Guest Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Pah, you call that a rant? You've obviously seen me then.
MC Prussian Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 What a ****.That's inexcusable. Woah. He's Welsh. But in some ways I can understand that outburst. As an actor, especially when you get to the most dramatic and more important scenes, you want to be fully focused and not interrupted by an "amateur" D.O.P. who suddenly appears in the background, changing lights. There's a standard procedure on most Hollywood sets. Shots are set up properly, so that the talent can perform. Hurlbut, the poor cinematographer could've asked beforehand - he didn't. Still, a bit out of order by Bale to exaggerate. And then the fake American accent. I guess he must've said sorry to Hurlbut afterwards. I don't think Bale himself to be so dumb.
drew Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 If you know who Bill O'Reilly is, someone has made a nice chop of a famous rant he made and Bales rant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gbz6-7c_7Hk I don't think he's putting the accent on, when I visit the states to see my missus i find myself saying things differently, not on purpose, it just happens.
Katy Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Did he not lay the nut on his mum and sister once too? Someone brave should suggest anger management to him.

As far as I can remember, there were some serious doubts concerning the credibility of the statements from his mother and sister. Apparently, Christian Bale had a wacky childhood and especially his mother is said to have a "special" character, too.

MC Prussian Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 I think there were some blackmail claims from both Bale's mother and sister. Sharon Bale, his sister, was said to have asked her brother for 100'000 pounds. At around the same time, Bale himself was facing problems with his marriage. http://www.mahalo.com/Sharon_Bale Believe it or not, that stuff happened last July. And the audio clip released a few days back is actually from the same time period - when Bale was performing for the newest "Terminator" flick. I'd say he was just totally stressed out with family issues and thus overreacted in such a way.
Koke Posted 6 February 2009 Author Posted 6 February 2009 You've obviously seen me then. You couldn't scare a fly.
Finnegan Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 He's Welsh. He's even less Welsh than CZJ and Anthony Hopkins I used to really like him though, I'm a bit gutted really.
Chromophobia Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Christian Bale is a fooking great actor, and I will like him for this regardless of what he's like as a person. It doesn't matter what he's like as a person, because ultimately what I like and respect him for is his acting and the good films he's been in. Also I think you can excuse to an extent his losing his rag at the lighting guy getting in his eyeline while filming a scene that was by all accounts a very intense emotional scene in the film, and walking in front of the actors on a set is really unproffesional and a shitty thing to do. Seriousness aside, this remix of it all is immensely great:
