Colin Kazim-Richards

The young player we had on trial back in January has announced he is not signing for Bury so is he on his way to us, or does anyone know different ?

Well I have it on good authority that we've definately had talks with him recently!

What throws things in to doubt is that Levein only wants one striker and will he want someone with more experience than CKR?

I would be over the moon if it's CKR as he is a star in the making.

Never really heard of him and never seen him play. Seem to recall having him on FM but don't remember if he was any good. Don't really mind if we get him or not but hope we do get a good midfeilder/striker whatever he is. Shouldn't cost much should he?

As I said a few weeks ago, I sometimes get bits of info from a lad I know who works at a hotel where some of the players stay when they've just signed and are looking for a house or stay there whilst they have talks with Leicester! CKR was reportedly seen there by my source and he was adamant he was signing as he'd stayed a few nights, but that was a few weeks ago now and we've still not heard anything.

what hotel is this? Hilton close to Fosse Park? Or is it the Ibis near the Jaguar Garage? Or arent you allowed to say?

Who else has been spotted there recently?

And do talks usually last more than a day for them to need a hotel room for the night?

I can't say and I only get to hear about things very rarely. This being one of them.

Or the Holiday Inn? ;)

oh yes - forgot about that one.. ;o)

Speaking of that, I think its a crazy idea putting a hotel opposite the stadium - it spoils the whole show of the stadium when approaching it from the main road (upperton road)... anyway - ive drifted a bit...

This is cruel!  Every time this thread comes back to the top of the list I get excited and think there may be news and there never is.  :o

Well now that CKR has officially rejected Bury's contract offer I expect he'll sign for a new team within a week or so. So we'll be put out of our misery one way or the other. I've not heard anything since, which worries me but then again I rarely get to told things.

I've just heard a rumour that Brighton are interested in him, I've tried to find a Brighton message board but had no luck.

He is a wicked talent and i think that if we were to get him it would be an excellent signing.

Keep your ear to the ground Hoof :D

He is off to Brighton. :(:( <_<

Kazim-Richards agrees to Brighton move

18 year old forward Colin Kazim-Richards will sign for Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday.

The teenager rejected Bury's offer of a new 2 year deal in favour of a move up the football league and perhaps a preference for a club closer to his London roots.

Hitting form at the end of last season, Kazim-Richards impressed numerous clubs throughout the football league as he held down a place in the Shakers starting eleven. The likes of Charlton Athletic and Southampton had been rumoured to be keeping a close eye on the talented youngster who made his Bury debut in the 3-1 LDV Vans defeat at Stockport County last year.

The fee is likely to be decided by a tribunal and the transfer makes him the second Bury forward in six months to depart for a Championship club following David Nugent's move to Preston North End. The Shakers directors had rejected an offer for him from Leicester City earlier last season hoping that he would agree terms with the club. It is expected that Bury will receive more via the tribunal than they would have from the Foxes offer.

The club have replaced Kazim-Richards and Chris Porter, now with Oldham Athletic with MK Dons striker Allan Smart and Tom Youngs who signed yesterday from Leyton Orient.

What a loss. Brighton?? Even taking into accounts him wanting to be nearer to London, surely if we'd actually made an effort to sign him he'd have chosen us.

Hope I'm not wrong but I imagine this has a lot to do with Brighton having £250,000 to spend having won the Coca Cola Win a Player for your club competition.

Bury will be happy to take the money.

Sound deductive reasoning. Just wish we had won that money. :( <_<
