The 34-year-old former England striker is out of contract at Aston Villa next summer and feels the most he can expect to be offered is a new deal on reduced money. He admitted: “My current loyalties are obviously at Villa, but hypothetically I would love to go back. I was born and raised in Leicester, my family still live there, and it is the club where everything started for me.” New Foxes boss Nigel Pearson, who begins his second spell in charge today at home to Crystal Palace, has been told he’ll have finance available to strengthen the squad and would fancy the experience that giant striker Heskey would bring.

Hmm Lazy Journalism Methinks
Jace Posted 19 November 2011 Posted 19 November 2011 If this was going to happen I would of thought it would of happened under Sven in the summer, still Villa are not going to renew his contract for anything near to what he is currently on so who knows. Always thought he was a great left winger for Leicester when he started his career....
Happy Fox Posted 19 November 2011 Author Posted 19 November 2011 Hmm Lazy Journalism Methinks Not really that lazy, Heskey wants to come back, I would have thought NP would want him he is experienced target man, younger than Howard

Whilst I am sure Thracian would be pleased I am not sure that we actually need another centre back. Think we would be better off going for a winger or a forward.
Maybes Posted 19 November 2011 Posted 19 November 2011 Where does it say NP wants him. Complete non-story.

So harsh on Heskey he would be brilliant at this level, would provide so many assists for the likes of Nugent, much better than Howard as a target man, I would definitely take him in a heartbeat.

Heskey's been saying that since the day he left. Can you point me in the direction to where Pearson says he wants him? Not that it's impossible.

No it is not. It is a cheap dig at Thracian for thinking that Heskey is a centre back in the making. Twas meant to be a joke.

Salieri Posted 19 November 2011 Posted 19 November 2011 He's 33, not 34, but that still makes me feel very old. I remember like it was yesterday when he burst on the scene as a fresh faced teenager. I'd still take him back. In January though and not much later, he's running out of time if he really wants to come home.

I thought it was a good joke but being serious now Heskey would be a very versatile player for us he we could get him. Imagine if Schmeichel was injured or suspended and we had a choice of Heskey or Weale to replace him? I'd gamble on Emile

Petchy Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 I've been meaning to ask for ages, did you spell Jack Hobb's name wrong on purpose or is that how you think it's spelled?... You mean Jack Hobbs'
davieG Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 The bit where it said that NP would fancy the experience that Heskey would bring, I assumed that NP would be interested That's not a Pearson quote that's the newspaper assuming he would be interested, it helps to add apparent credibility to a story for those not prepared to or incapable of reading it properly.

Not convinced NP would go for him, but no one knows what NP will do with money, he's never been in that position. Be interesting to see what happens cone jan.
Vlad the Fox Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 I think it's a re-hash of last weeks mercury story.
PaulMcCartneysLoveChild Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 It's a pile of push, as others have pointed out. No quotes from the manager, just assumption applied. He is to old anyway.
Fox92 Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 I think it is someone putting two and two together. The reporter knows Emile would like to end his career here, at Leicester, and Nigel has the money avaliable to buy him. However, there are no quotes from Nigel at all to even show he wants to buy Heskey. If Emile wants to end his career at Leicester, I think I'd take him. I know he isn't getting any younger, but he holds the ball up well and would be a good target - I know Howard is as well though.
liamsm Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Not really that lazy, Heskey wants to come back, I would have thought NP would want him he is experienced target man, younger than Howard And a lot faster

My name is Jace Hobbs that is my real name I didn't copy Jack I am older than him just a coincidence are names are similar
