macbeth Posted 23 July 2006 Posted 23 July 2006 according to mail on sunday he is set to meet deadly tomorrow!!
Jay Posted 23 July 2006 Posted 23 July 2006 according to mail on sunday he is set to meet deadly tomorrow!! No, not with Doug in charge!! we all know about the problems MON has with authority/chairman/directors etc!! he really doesn't like working with them it's 100% MON or not at all he would want complete control over everything and I don't think he will get that
dandannieldanok Posted 23 July 2006 Posted 23 July 2006 according to mail on sunday he is set to meet deadly tomorrow!! I've found out over the past few weeks how unreliable this paper is. In the world cup final pullout there was a whole article on how Cannavaro had signed for Chelsea.
stez Posted 23 July 2006 Posted 23 July 2006 No, not with Doug in charge!! we all know about the problems MON has with authority/chairman/directors etc!! he really doesn't like working with them it's 100% MON or not at all he would want complete control over everything and I don't think he will get that indeed! he used to go on aboput robert chase almost as much as 'the sheffield united game'
Head Honcho Posted 23 July 2006 Posted 23 July 2006 It won't take much for him to sign, what has he got to lose? A tidy war chest and a few promises about who picks the team and back room staff and it's a good deal for them both. If DD doesn't keep his promises then MON will just say adios and DD will have no option but to resign.
Ultra Posted 24 July 2006 Posted 24 July 2006 But if he accepts Ellis's offer then the fans will just see him as a puppet. After what happened at Norwich and with us in his early months, there's no way he'll want to go through all that again..
Fez of Mahrez Posted 24 July 2006 Posted 24 July 2006 But if he accepts Ellis's offer then the fans will just see him as a puppet. After what happened at Norwich and with us in his early months, there's no way he'll want to go through all that again.. Personally I think the fans will be glad to get a manager worthy of the size of the club after the debacles in recent years.
Daggers Posted 25 July 2006 Posted 25 July 2006 It's all going to rest on the *latest* takeover plan. I reckon if it goes through then he could well sign up. The fact that he has spoken to all of the recent prospective suitors shows his intent of getting back into the game, he is just awaiting the right conditions. Sleeping giant, money to spend, free reign in the backroom - with those as givens he'll be my next door neighbour before you can say "England should have signed him up!"

Yup, it looks like the person trying to buy Villa is interested in O'Neill. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...lla/5207620.stm
macbeth Posted 26 July 2006 Author Posted 26 July 2006 Randy Lerner( us billionairre).......got to have been a porn star...young boy with friends mum
dandannieldanok Posted 26 July 2006 Posted 26 July 2006 Athole Still spotted at villa park today, Sven's agent. Read into that what you will.
Solihullfox Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 Nightmare - all the Birmingham press are saying MON is about to be announced as new Vile manager. I can already the whining voices in my local taking the piss because they have him at their poxy club. I actually may have to move.
Thracian Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 Not saying it won't happen but if MON goes to work for Doug Ellis I'll be amazed. It'd be like me working as a suit for some Corporate Entertainment organisation. I'd fit like a cock in the drains of a cullinder.
Matt Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 When he left for Celtic he broke my heart I couldn't stand Celtic and I couldn't stand seeing him manage them. Villa are my most hated club (Along with possibly Arsenal, although i'd rate Arsenal just under my hatred for Villa) if MON goes to Villa he will lose alot of respect from me...doubt he will care he's lost my respect but who cares! Nothing will take away what he did for Leicester and i'll never forget that, but if he goes to Villa I will struggle to give MON any respect in the future, I wouldn't constanly slag him of because he had legendery status as our former manager but for the future Martin by all means get back into football, Infact i'd quite like you back in football but please please please not with Villa. Someone said "Ah he just wants to get back into football"...and? He has had plenty of offers recently, Leicester, Newcastle, Derby/Forest (), England, e.t.c....Why is Villa so tempting for him?
Leicester Lass Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 A friend of mine is a Villa fan and he's 90% sure MON will be their new manager
Matt Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 A friend of mine is a Villa fan and he's 90% sure MON will be their new manager And what does he know? Does he know this due to the papers? Rumours? In that case he knows as much as us. Unless he has connections within the club?
Ultra Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 A friend of mine is a Villa fan and he's 90% sure MON will be their new manager Just as Sunderland fans were convinced he was going there a couple of months ago!
Daggers Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 It had been suggested O'Neill might be unveiled on Tuesday, but Villa operations director Steve Stride said: "Contrary to rumours circulating, there is no announcement planned concerning the appointment of a new manager."The situation remains ongoing and we will inform fans as and when it is possible to do so." Looks like MON joining is conditional on a clean takeover with finances for transfers in place...but it doesn't sound like the American. Neville says he has lined up a manager should he win control of the club, and that is understood to be O'Neill.
surrifox Posted 2 August 2006 Posted 2 August 2006 Another avenue of enjoyment closed off then. Half the fun of any season is watching a self-deluding laughing stock like Villa making ar$es of themselves every year and pretending they are one of the greats. If MON goes I wouldn't like to see him reduced by association with this load of cr@p
Fez of Mahrez Posted 2 August 2006 Posted 2 August 2006 Lot of pressure on O'Neill now, he's been built up as the best manager around but he's been out of the management game for 15 months and he's not managed in the Premiership for six years.
Janx Posted 2 August 2006 Posted 2 August 2006 cash available, deadly going...its a done deal if these happen... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Daggers Posted 2 August 2006 Posted 2 August 2006 Lot of pressure on O'Neill now, he's been built up as the best manager around... Yup. There's a real potential to crash and burn in spectacular fashion here...just look at the squad, a bunch of self-indulgent, selfish under-achievers. Like Thracian, I will be amazed if he joins while DD is still at the helm. Half the reason given that he didn't get the England job was down to the fact that MON speaks his mind ~ well, there isn't a hope in hell that DD would tolerate that. DD is a patrician from the old school, a real Victorian dad... ...if anyone states any similarities between davieG and DD there'll be trouble I tell you, trouble.
