Moreton Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 I think that milan should appoint Steve Walsh as manager and his assistant should be Gerry Taggert, this would be very welcome with the fans and i think it will get the right results
Brainy Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Duncan Ferguson. He was a hard man on the pitch too.
Simi Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Indeed. I can't wait to see everyone saying Gerry is a great manager after today. When I doubt he had much more input than Burrows. But don't let facts get in the way right? 'Cos he's got passion.
Koke Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 If things go absolute tits up, the same people who want him in charge will be calling for his head. That's what I fear.
MPH Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 I think that milan should appoint Steve Walsh as manager and his assistant should be Gerry Taggert, this would be very welcome with the fans and i think it will get the right results Gerry Taggart knew exactly what he was doing , today... Burrows was officially in charge for the game, but Taggart knows that by being the public figure ( often off his chair and standing at the edge of the box) That he would get a few of the chants, ect... I am sure he wants it but now is not the time to be taking risks Some risks work some dont, but now is not the time for any more risks....
meadwell5 Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 I think that milan should appoint Steve Walsh as manager and his assistant should be Gerry Taggert, this would be very welcome with the fans and i think it will get the right results Do u understand football at all, Steve Walsh has never managed a football team and is a twit outside of being on a football pitch. Yes he might get us a few wins over 10 or so games by getting everone pumped up, but the bubble would soon burst. Steve Walsh is all about EGO, thats y hes getting involved in saying he wants the job. Legend but not the man for the job in my opinion. Grayson along side Taggs maybe, both level headed guys who love the club. Personally id go for Jewell or Dowie, good technical coaches with good ideas.
Ozwin Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Jewell with Walsh and Taggs involved in some capacity.
Joe. Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Great. What did you say earlier? I said: "I wonder how many people will be wanting Taggart in after this now" Ched: "Yeah they'll be wanting Walsh and Taggart in now"
heskey 4 england Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Jewell with Walsh and Taggs involved in some capacity. Jewell Grayson with Walsh and Taggs involved in some capacity.
Tommeh Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 I've heard a lot of views on this "new manager" debate and if I'm completely honest I Would love Walsh as our new manager. This for me is a personal thing, its just who I want, as I really believe he can make it work for us. People mention the passion and sure that would be very good but I also feel he's been studying the game and in particular our performances in recent weeks and can see where we're going wrong. Out of everyone mentiaoned so far Souness, Dowie etc. Walsh would be a no brainer first choice for me. Realistically I dont think we'll get Jewell and managers like Johnson are taken and whilst I initially would have like Brian Little I cant see it happening. I fully accept it would be a gamble but I think it would work for us. All fans would welcome him there would be a real buzz about the place and I actually feel his real love for the club would see him succeed. I don't care what other people think about the situation whether I'm on my own with this one or part of a support group of thousands. If he gets the job and cocks it up I'll obviously admit I was wrong but for the time being I'd love him to be our next manager

I still think how great it would be if Walsh was to take over and become a rousing success. But I just think we've taken enough risks lately and bin through enough shit to gamble on Walsh. If it wasn't to work out, it would turn out to be the third manager of the season and another upheaval of the staff. I'd love it to work as much as the next guy. But at this moment, having passion for the club and vision of what needs to be done just isn't going to do it for me.
Father Ted Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 I think that milan should appoint Steve Walsh as manager and his assistant should be Gerry Taggert, this would be very welcome with the fans and i think it will get the right results At the end of the day it's not up to us, it's up to Milan Mandaric. Walshie stated in the Mercury that he wanted a meeting with Milan and just 15 minutes of his time. He thinks that he knows where were going wrong on the pitch and most importantly how we can fix it. Will he impress Mandaric or not?
GO GADGET GO Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 I think that milan should appoint Steve Walsh as manager and his assistant should be Gerry Taggert, this would be very welcome with the fans and i think it will get the right results NO, NO, NO Walsh- no caoching experience lazy radio pundit who has had years to get caoching badges & experience at coaching. Has done nothing to achieve this. Taggart worked at academy for free, coached at stoke & tamworth, not great but more qualified than walsh. But not done enough. Yes we need passion but we also need experience & some sort of track record. If iwalsh is involved it should only be in a coaching role.

Milky Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 Why do people keep putting Taggert ffs! It's Taggart.
Bert Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 Passion is nothing in football these days. It's all money. The shit i've just left lingering in the toilet has more passion than some of the professionals in today's game.
Cos Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 Shouting only gets you so far. I'd like to see GT involved but we do need someone with experience. Putting an unknown in charge could be a recipe for disaster. Anyone else thinking that we should have our own 'LCFC Manager of the Month' competition?
Guest Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 Why do people keep putting Taggert ffs! It's Taggart. I was going to reply that I would rather see Taggart in charge, but you appear to have stolen my thunder.
Milan Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 Walsh will not get any job at this club, you may aswell re-name us Harchester United if he does.

Who did keane manage before promoting sunderland?
Fat Ron Posted 29 October 2007 Posted 29 October 2007 I personally think that If Walsh was serious in wanting the job he would have gone to somewhere in non league and got some experiance instead of just popping up every time City need a Manager. If we were in League 1 or 2 then I could see it happening but this club is too big and worth too much money to Milan to trust a Rookie with. I would love to see Walsh involved some how but I think it would be too much for him to take on at this moment in time. Get your badges, get some experiance and get noticed then I think he would be in a far stronger position to argue his case (example, Simon Grayson) As for Roy Keane, completley differnet scenario, Keane hadnt been away from football for 10 years. He went from Celtic to Sunderland, still has massive contacts on the game and was a personal choice of Quinn (Sunderland Owner.)
