Stuliasz Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 I'm sure the general concensus on here is that we must make efforts to try and buy Fulop in the January window after his brilliant first half of a season here - but the real question is - would he want to sign on permanently? I'm not so sure. For me, he is a Premiership class keeper and if our performances/results don't start improving soon, I can see him just staying on loan until the end of the season until he can get a permanent move to a Premiership club or a Championship club with higher chances of promotion than ourselves and I would suggest that is probably the majority. Hopefully MM will get his wallet out and give him an offer he can't refuse.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 He said on SkySports.com that he likes it here, so I don't see why he wouldn't want to stay.
The Reverend Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 He said on SkySports.com that he likes it here, so I don't see why he wouldn't want to stay. He's bound to say that! No chance.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 Why wouldn't he want to stay where the team that can get a point against Burnley away
Cobbo Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 I think we should sell 'Marton I fancy you' t shirts in the shop - then if we all buy one he's bound to want to stay. (ugly/friged people need not apply). Well tis an idea.
AyewJoking Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Reckon he'll sign on til the end of the season. He's too good for us. Shame cos he's the best goalie we've had since Pressman.
Cobbo Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Reckon he'll sign on til the end of the season. He's too good for us. Shame cos he's the best goalie we've had since Pressman. Already signed until then
Daggers Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 What's a "friged" person? I don't want to buy a shirt and find out I should have got a mouse mat instead.
Cobbo Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 What's a "friged" person?I don't want to buy a shirt and find out I should have got a mouse mat instead. I didn't know how it was spelt and have had a few jars - someone who doesn't 'give out' very easily. I want him to think he has freedom to have a piece. He will then stay. Hurrah.
Raj Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Of course fulop will sign. We are the mighty Leicester City Fc dont forget!!!!

danny. Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 What's a "friged" person? A man that lives in a fridge.
Cobbo Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 You be careful on that leg, "Boozy" I'll just sleep and piss right here A man that lives in a fridge. This is why I dropped the d!
FilboFox Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Reckon he'll sign on til the end of the season. He's too good for us. Shame cos he's the best goalie we've had since Pressman. Pressman... He's the best goalie since Flowers!
SamL Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Very decent keeper. We've got to do all we can to keep him permanently and if he says no at least we tried.

We dont have that problem!
Geo V Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 It all depends on whether Ollie can somehow pick our sorry arses up off the floor and rally to have a good second-half of the season. If we do well and say finish just outside the play-offs but are looking like a team that is going somewhere then we may have a chance to sign him. However, if we continue this madness of managers coming and going and inconsistent form that has turned the Walkers into a morgue, then we have no chance. The positive thing for us is he is still Hungarys no1 playing for us and he has been quoted as saying he needs to be playing club football as he desperately wants to play for his country. He wont sign for another side to warm the bench.
Zingari Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 the most worrying thing is the form of craig gordon ; will keane decide he wants fulop back sooner
Fat Ron Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Reckon he'll sign on til the end of the season. He's too good for us. Shame cos he's the best goalie we've had since Pressman. Pressman... But then when I thought about it, our keepers have all been a tad dodgy since Walker.. Surley we have had a better keeper than Pressman in that time?!?!?! On the Fulop case, he is getting first team football here so there is a strong chance he could want to stay for that, although a point raised aboveby I Zingari, Gordon has conceded a lot recently and with Fulop getting so much praise here maybe Keano might shake things up at Sunderland....
Geo V Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 the most worrying thing is the form of craig gordon ; will keane decide he wants fulop back sooner I cant see that happening mate. You dont spend £8-9m on a young keeper and drop him IMO.
Zingari Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 I cant see that happening mate. You dont spend £8-9m on a young keeper and drop him IMO. really ??!!! http://www.sundayherald.com/sport/shmatchr...utters_down.php
Geo V Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 really ??!!!http://www.sundayherald.com/sport/shmatchr...utters_down.php Were fooked
Sirloin Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Can't see him wanting to go back to warming the bench at Sunderland, I would think the main concern would be someone else coming in for him. But Holloway seems to like Hungarian players, and I wouldn't be suprised to see one come in during the transfer window, which may add to our appeal to him.
Thracian Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Fulop belongs in the Premiership. If we rapidly end the comic capers and get serious about going there with him then maybe. But it would require something startling - in ruthlessness, acquisitive brilliance and motivational inspiration - to rescue our season now and there's no evidence that will happen quickly, if at all, and no way I could see Fulop remaining here next season to play in the Championship.
