iancognito Posted 8 May 2008 Posted 8 May 2008 Never go back, Micky! http://www.seagulls.premiumtv.co.uk/page/L...1308744,00.html
iancognito Posted 9 May 2008 Author Posted 9 May 2008 I wasn't saying he should be, just noting one of our growing number of ex-bosses will be in the same division next year. Devastating as relegation is, I didn't think it was necessary to link every comment on the board to it. Just wondering if Peter Taylor or Martin Allen might turn up somewhere too, they've both been unemployed for 6 months after all.

Hasn't he gone to Gillingham or somewhere like that?
act smiley Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Just wondering if Peter Taylor or Martin Allen might turn up somewhere too, they've both been unemployed for 6 months after all. Taylor's only been out of a job for a week or two. Took over Stevenage, a team looking like a safe bet for the Conference playoffs, and managed to rapidly ruin them and miss out on the playoffs, signing Junior Lewis in the process. Jumped before he was pushed at the end of the season.

I seem to remember he did a co-commentary for 5Live a few weeks ago and they didn't say anything about his current job. As for Junior Lewis, it's nice to see he found his level
act smiley Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I think he was playing for someone below the conference on a non-contract basis before Taylor signed him up. Dunno if they'll keep him around, think his contract only ran till the end of the season.
SamL Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Good luck to the bloke, I've never had a bad word to say about him. Personally if Ollie left, I don't think we'd have got him anyway.
dandannieldanok Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 One Fter, when told the news...... How'd you get my picture so quick
Daggers Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 He'll probably do the double over us next year. Nice and positive, that - thanks. On a rather more upbeat note - good news: Rijkaard to leave Barcelona post
Eastern Fox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Who cares he wasn't that amazing anyway. People forget he inherited a much better squad that any subsequent manager.
JoeyB Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Brighton have re-appointed Micky Adams as manager with Dean Wilkins offered the role of first-team coach.Adams led Albion to the old Third Division title during his first spell in charge from 1999 to 2001. He takes over with the Seagulls just outside the play-off positions in seventh in League One this season. "The board feel we need a manager with the wealth of experience to help us make the leap into the Championship," said chairman Dick Knight. "Dean's strengths lie in coaching and the development of players and that is why we have offered him the role of senior coach under Micky." Adams has also worked at Fulham and Leicester and was most recently assistant boss at Colchester. Adams said: "Having worked at the club previously, which was a fantastic and rewarding experience, to get the chance to manage a super football club like Brighton & Hove Albion again was an opportunity I couldn't turn down. "I look forward to working alongside Dean Wilkins, the players and the rest of the coaching staff - and working together with the Albion supporters - to try and get this club back into the Championship as we move towards our new home." Link Thats one bit of good News, Dowie, Davies or Newell would be a good choice if we got rid of ollie
Bert Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I would of had Adams back in a heartbeat. He should have never left.
Mark Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 He should have never left. Oh he should, and a few games earlier when he fielded this team of his golden oldies against QPR. Pressman ,Makin ,Keown ,Dabizas ,Wilcox ,Scowcroft ,Gemmill (Gudjonsson ,68 ) ,Nalis ,Blake (Benjamin ,62 ) ,Dublin (Wright ,76 ) ,Connolly (sent off 53) He loved his old players did Micky but this was an obvious sign of someone who had completely lost it.

Scot Gemmill, now he was player.
Leicester Rule! Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I cant remember the position in the league when he left ... sure it wasnt 22nd though.
Fox You Forest Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Im glad personally, Forwards not Backwards please.
Corky Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Brighton will be challenging for promotion next season, hope he gets a good reception from our fans. I would have taken him back.
Scow Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Some people have short memories. Adams left us with a squad full of ageing players. We had no energy, pace or drive in the team and it was the right time for him to go. He wanted to resign in the summer before the season started - that was rejected - and then when things weren't going right he decided to go. Hindsight is a wonderful thing [cliche\] - yes, we may have been 12th (?) at that time, a position we've not experienced for a while, but it was still early in the season. The team Adams had assembled would not have got us back in to the Premiership and that was backed up to an extent by the position we found ourselves in at the end of the season. The decision we got wrong was Levein, but his philosophy was right at the time. Coventry was an example of Adams' ability as manager - like Dowie, he left them hovering above the relegation zone. He's a limited manager who got lucky with a Premiership strength squad when we got relegated in 2003.
