Stewarding today

Just wanted to bring this up as they were fooking brilliant.

some of you may have seen a good 50 or so being escourted out of the side stand about 5 minutes in, this was for persistant standing the stewards came up told us to sit and clear the isles we refused, so they basically said "if you want to stand go behind the goal" which we all did and stood freely front row.

The atmosphere may have been pretty poor but I'd rather have a good bit of terrace banter standing than sit on my arse clapping along to great escape/ring of fire

And and the Burberry hat steward who went off crying lol

Common sense at last, well done swindon

I was in the side stand towards the left hand side and I didn't encounter a problem with the stewards at all. They just let us stand, although they did have a problem with a few people who were standing in the aisle.

It's nice to hear that we've finally met a set of stewards who have a little common sense.

It can be done then! Perhaps Swindon should organise a stewards' coaching course!

i wish the walkers stadium stewards would take a leaf out there book!!

Why?

There is nothing wrong with our stewards at all certainly not in L1/K1, their all just like fans in flurescent Jackets.

The point I was trying to make is that compared to some grounds we've been this season (Huddersfield and Stockport come to mind) they were terrific.

Bless him, he was pure comedy. :crylaugh:

had some good banter with the steward near us he kept coming down to moan about the lad next to me standing in the aisle but apart from that he was sound "steward whats the score" he came down and told us when it went to 2-2 lol

He got abused for wearing a fake Burberry cap.

As the abuse wore on and "he's gonna cry in a minute" was sang, he gave us the one fingered salute and marched off, then about 20 steps later, he turned round and done it again!

Hi you foxes..hope you dont mind me posting on here being a Swindon fan...hope youve calmed down abit now after our late show,to be fair ive just had a read of your matchday thread and it appears we we should have been three up at half time,to be fair you were quality second half.

In my humble you will go up and probably win it by a margin though the point at our place might be a good one at seasons end..the clever money is local man Holloway getting our managers job,i like to have a look at the away forums and was pleasently suprised to have a nose through yours, not many muppets like Leeds and last year Forest...brainless.

Ref the stewards we always have a laugh with them though the away end stewards seem to have one brain cell between em...always opening the gates just as the tannoy is announcing for the away fans to wait 10 mins!

If i have one critisism cant believe the stick Pearson is getting on here..YOUR TOP OF THE LEAGUE!..but its your forum and your team so good luck for the season and cant wait to play you at your place.

Err, not quite, which (along with it having happened before) is why people have overreacted like that.

With common sense like that you're more than welcome Swindon - as you are discovering, we have the largest collection of not-rights and half-sharps in the country.

Hi guys, Swindon fan.

Consider yourselves lucky, having god stewards at the CG and stuff. Its pretty rare it happens, we get tortured by them up in the Don Rogers stand (where the noise was coming from Saturday), really goes over the top.

But, I think we all can all agree it was a very good game, majority of the time being end to end and I'd quite happily sit and watch it again, by far the best game I've seen this season at the County Ground.

Was a shame about all the stuff after the match, with it all kicking off on the magic roundabout, ruined a good day for everyone IMO.

Can't wait for the reverse fixture, hopefully we'll have a decent manager in by then and be within a chance of beating you this time round.

See you at your place :sweating:
