Uncle Albert Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Thank God the knock out stages are finally here. I have missed the Champs League in the short time it has been away. Really hope one of the English teams win it again but I wouldnt mind if Mourinho dumped Fergie out of the competition again! Go on Mourinho, will be a brilliant match either way whoever wins. Chelsea Juve will be a decent tie aswell, Ranieri returning to the Bridge and he should get a decent reception. After all he was the man who got the Roman era started. Liverpool Real will be another tastey game, can see Liverpool going through though. They will keep it tight in Spain and then should have enough to do the business at Anfield and we all know what Anfield is like on them sort of nights. Arsenal should go through, I think they are probably the only English side with a near enough garunteed spot in the next round. Here's the fixtures. Tuesday Arsenal v Roma Atletico Madrid v FC Porto Inter Milan v Man Utd Lyon v Barcelona Wednesday Chelsea v Juventus Real Madrid v Liverpool Sporting Lisbon v Bayern Munich Villarreal v Panathinaikos Anyone fancy a sweepstake?
welck12 Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Arsenal v RomaAtletico Madrid v FC Porto Inter Milan v Man Utd Lyon v Barcelona Chelsea v Juventus Real Madrid v Liverpool Sporting Lisbon v Bayern Munich Villarreal v Panathinaikos Teams in bold my predicitons, wonder what odds that'll get me..
JoeyB Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Teams in bold my predicitons, wonder what odds that'll get me.. What odds does it get you? Although i can't see Man Utd beating inter, Jose hasn't lost at home in something stupid liek 150 games.
purpleronnie Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 I picked Real Madrid at the start with Juv having an outside chance (great odds), so I will be happy if either of those win it. English teams have a very hard draw.

I hate Fergie, so would also love if Mourinho beat him, again. Teams in bold are my predo's. Think Liverpool will get a draw at Bernabeu, and then win at home. At.Madrid, with Aguero and llorente should overcome Porto. AT least I hope they will. Best tie is Inter Milan vs Man Utd though.
welck12 Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 What odds does it get you?Although i can't see Man Utd beating inter, Jose hasn't lost at home in something stupid liek 150 games. Only 33/1 with will hill, ladbrokes wouldnt let me do it online and there odds where bit better. EDIT - Them odds are for the team to qualify not win the game To be fair thats the main one i would have worries about, esp with utd not having many defenders tomorrow inter could have the tie wrapped up by 2nd leg
Bert Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 TuesdayArsenal v Roma Atletico Madrid v FC Porto Inter Milan v Man Utd Lyon v Barcelona Wednesday Chelsea v Juventus Real Madrid v Liverpool - draw Sporting Lisbon v Bayern Munich Villarreal v Panathinaikos These are the results that I think will happen this week. that accy is 300/1.

StanSP Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Some score predictions: Tuesday Arsenal 2-1 Roma Atletico Madrid 3-0 FC Porto Inter Milan 2-1 Man Utd Lyon 1-2 Barcelona Wednesday Chelsea 2-0 Juventus Real Madrid 1-1 Liverpool Sporting Lisbon 0-3 Bayern Munich Villarreal 4-1 Panathinaikos
Bert Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Some score predictions:Tuesday Arsenal 2-1 Roma Atletico Madrid 3-0 FC Porto Inter Milan 2-1 Man Utd Lyon 1-2 Barcelona Wednesday Chelsea 2-0 Juventus Real Madrid 1-1 Liverpool Sporting Lisbon 0-3 Bayern Munich Villarreal 4-1 Panathinaikos Without the last 2 in bold, the 6 team accy on the correct scores, is 480,000/1.
CosbehFox Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 I reckon all four English sides could go out.... Man United will play either O'Shea, Carrick or Fletcher at centre-half alongside Rio.

Joe. Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 You do realise that Man Utd Inter will be incredibly dull don't you?
Corky Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 You do realise that Man Utd Inter will be incredibly dull don't you? It will be. I hope Inter win though, will stop this boring "we'll win 5 trophies" from the plastic Mancs.
dandannieldanok Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 I'm praying that if Inter steal the two-leg win at Old Trafford in the closing stages, Mourinho celebrates down the touchline like he did with Porto. Wouldn't be too unhappy to see all the English teams go and out of the four I'd rather Arsenal go furthest, although on current form they'll probably go out.
lavrentis Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Arsenal v Roma Atletico Madrid v FC Porto Inter Milan v Man Utd Lyon v Barcelona Chelsea v Juventus Real Madrid v Liverpool Sporting Lisbon v Bayern Munich Villarreal v Panathinaikos
purpleronnie Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Arsenal v RomaAtletico Madrid v FC Porto Inter Milan v Man Utd Lyon v Barcelona Chelsea v Juventus Real Madrid v Liverpool Sporting Lisbon v Bayern Munich Villarreal v Panathinaikos All english clubs to go through? That would be some result.
lavrentis Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 All english clubs to go through? That would be some result. , they have about as much chance as anybody
Tommeh Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Hope all English clubs go out. Has to be Barca to win it for me.
lildave3 Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 I love the Champions League, delighted it's back.

Corky Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 I wouldn't mind seeing some English teams go out. Man Utd and Arsenal for a start.
Joe. Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Tuesday Arsenal v Roma Atletico Madrid v FC Porto Inter Milan v Man Utd Lyon v Barcelona Wednesday Chelsea v Juventus Real Madrid v Liverpool Sporting Lisbon v Bayern Munich Villarreal v Panathinaikos Wouldn't normally go against Liverpool in this competition, but my faith in Benitez's work is rapidly declining at the moment. Still wouldn't surprise me to see them win it, although I do believe Barca will do it this year. Can't see Chelsea getting past Juve, nor Arsenal against Roma, leaving Man Utd to edge through against Inter.
