General Smuts Posted 24 February 2009 Posted 24 February 2009 David 'State the obvious' Pleat - Arsenal reluctant to pull the trigger round the 18 yard box. Congrats you've worked out Wenger's walk the ball into the net tactics ... 5 years later than everyone else. Vela is immense.
Fox You Forest Posted 24 February 2009 Posted 24 February 2009 Arsenal on fire! Roma are very poor though.
General Smuts Posted 24 February 2009 Posted 24 February 2009 God this ref is card happeh. Finished Inter 0 Man U 0 Still not done here. 4 mins extra already played. Still 1-0 Arsenal but should be many many more.
Matt Posted 24 February 2009 Posted 24 February 2009 Inter's goalie was very good tonight. Kept them in the game, without him the game would have been won in the first half.
Sparky Posted 24 February 2009 Posted 24 February 2009 Decent display from United in the end , im sure they are confident of turning anyone over on thier own patch
Maybes Posted 24 February 2009 Posted 24 February 2009 Man United were a joy to watch to be honest. Played some really neat football. Some of carricks passing was amazing. Evra had a good game aswell.
Thracian Posted 24 February 2009 Posted 24 February 2009 Inter's goalie was very good tonight. He was bloody lucky for that last free kick! As for Pak, one notable pass all night. Headless chicken. Head down. Too many touches. Can't get away from his marker. Didn't commit when Ronaldo presented him with a tap in. So many moves broke down when the ball got to him. Such a pity. United were awesome for most of the first half but squandered so many opportunities throuh bad finishing and a bad final pass.
Darkzzz_ Posted 24 February 2009 Posted 24 February 2009 Certainly a game of two halves. I thought Inter were excellent second half and Zanetti and Cambiasso were quality. United should have been way out of sight first half but fair play to Inter. It was a good game for a 0-0.

Evra had a good game aswell. As were Arsenal. Diaby had a stormer, as did RVP and Vela looks likely to become a superstar in the future.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 24 February 2009 Posted 24 February 2009 I thought Park was one of United's better players on the night, linked well with Evra. If anyone should come in for criticism it should be Berbatov, he looked useless, tired, and leggy all night. Heaven forbid anyone on iTV will mention that though.
lildave3 Posted 24 February 2009 Posted 24 February 2009 Park had a shocker. Thought Rooney might have come on earlier tbh. Really looking forward to the 2nd leg, gotta love a big game at Old Trafford.
Joe. Posted 24 February 2009 Posted 24 February 2009 Fair result, and a decent result for United really. They definitely had the better of the first half, but no doubt Inter came out fighting in the second and deserved the draw. On another note, Ronaldo looked a bit disinterested tonight I thought.

How can you tell when he's not though? One of the most difficult players to work out as to whether he's motivated or not.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 24 February 2009 Posted 24 February 2009 Park had a shocker. I don't see why people are being so harsh on him. He kept it simple, showed some tenacity, managed to quell the threat of Maicon (along with Evra), and generally looked comfortable in possession. It was only his final ball that was lacking.

Was on his own up front to be fair though, with little support from anybody else around him.

RowlattsFox Posted 24 February 2009 Posted 24 February 2009 Solid result for United, will fancy their chances of winning at Old Trafford. 0-0 is not the worst result for Inter either really. As for Arsenal, always good to win obviously but they could have done with another goal because Roma are much better at home.

He seemed to get outpaced, outmuscled and outplayed quite a bit. He;s always going to run, that's what you get from him. That's why he played tonight, that's basically why he is still at United.

Joe. Posted 24 February 2009 Posted 24 February 2009 Mexes' tackcle was just plain stupid for the Arsenal penalty.
Bert Posted 24 February 2009 Posted 24 February 2009 Why are you lot being so harsh to Park? It's hard enough for him to see as it is.
