Post Match thread Leicester - Sirius

I was there.

I was surprised. Oakley at right back and Schlupp at left back.

I thought throughout the game that Schlupp was the best player (in mind he also played out of position) and they gave him MOTM.

Apart from that.

Moussa - looked lively and good

Weale - I didn't fell confidence

Ball, Oakley, Berner - nothing to complain about but didn't anything extra

Kermo - decent

Waghorn - nah,I want him to shine but he's not that quick, doesn't look like a natural goalscorer and is a bit clumpsy

Dyer - He had the ball quite often but nothing happened, technically bad. Maybe it's time to get rid

Howard - not good enough more than maybe backup

Abe - didn't have his best game

We must remember though that these guys haven't played together in a long time if ever.

For me Schlupp and Moussa stood out.

Kermos header for his goal was more than decent. He did some good things but he wasn't anything overspecial apart from a very good finish.

I was at the seminar with Sven ad Todr today also. There is alot of things I could tell you about but one thing was

Sven said that we had a very good striker last year in Yakubu but he's workrate wasnät great. That's ok he said but we ant a striker who comes form behind and try to score, Yakubu never did that he just wanted the ball delivered to him. >He didn't sound as Yakyubu was an option.

Also aomeone asked him about Guidetti and Sven said that they talked about him yesterday but they didn't think that he's the kind of striker they want right now.

He said he knew what he wants and it sounded like it was Maynard he wanted but he didn't mention any names.

Svena also said he's gonna feature one team today and a totally different team on thursday and he wanted them to try to play for 90 minutes (no substitutes today)

He also said that it wasn't n A or a B-team but that was obvioulsy a lie looking at the team.

yan ker magant? nah never heard of him, any you tube videos!!!!

We certainly need a penaly specialist if noel gallagher goes off the boil

thought jeremy shlurp sounded a good defensive player!!

and berner should be playing a holding role in front of the back four, but behind thew middle 8 and in goal.

Ik serious?!? glad we beat such illustrious people, just as well wasnt ik do i look serious or y so serious!!

In all honesty shame we didnt hear new guys, but good run out for lads, though cant see any good in schlupp left back makes no sense

He's not, we're unwilling to match his wages & everton have cancelled their acceptance of our bid. It's dead, unless we go back in again which is doubtful as a few sources have said he's settled back in with Everton really well & they're hardly splashing the cash on a replacement

very interesting to hear it from Sven though, ta

My only concern with Maynard is that we're putting all our eggs into one basket.

I do think he'll end up a Leicester City player, but I am slightly concerned that he'll be under immense pressure as it looks almost certain it'll take a club record bid to force Brizzle's hand and he might not get enough time with the players pre-season.

This could mean that Waghorn and Schlupp have to step up to the plate, at least on the bench. This could be an especially big test for Schlupp given his age so it's encouraging to hear he put in a good performance.

I still wouldn't put too much stock at this stage as it was obviously against Swedish third division opposition and many of our players will still be rusty.

Thanks for the review.

Obviously it's the first game of pre-season and largely a reserve side out but with a demanding season coming up we need the fringe players to be ready when required.

I reckon Schlupp may play a fair bit this season.

Did i hear correctly? Tunchev has picked up an injury? :-( thigh strain apparently...

Yes pulled something in his thigh, is having a scan.

Thanks for the report. I hope Schlupp gets a chance of playing in his real position in one of these games.

he wasn't quick yesterday anyway. or maybe I donät understand the joke. For me he seems to be fast the first couple of meters but then it gets slower

Quickness over the first couple of meters are important for getting open in the box or making room for a shot!

Yeah I dunno what you're laughing at, the following is entirely accurate...

Waghorn has an incredible 5 yard turn of pace on him. Stick him in a 25 yard sprint with say, Schlupp, and he'll be annihilated.

Not mine but this is on YT

Thanks to whoever put it up.

Tidy build up work for our goals, nicely taken by Waggy and Moussa, Kermo's seemed reasonably straightfoward. From that little bit we looked very active, the players and the ball were moving fast and sharp, impressive for the first day out.
