  1. https://fbref.com/en/players/b9ae8560/scout/12207/Niklas-Schmidt-Scouting-Report Not playing too much at Toulouse. Peak age, good in the middle and final third for an 8, reasonable tackling stats. We could do a lot worse. Also Luis Javier Suarez was amazing in Almeria's near great escape last season and he's smashed La Liga 2. Hi La Liga profile last season https://fbref.com/en/players/eeba07f8/scout/12202/Luis-Javier-Suarez-Scouting-Report

  3. 6 out of 7 days I think what’s the point in sacking RVN, it runs deeper than him. Then matchday rolls around and then it’s apparent in an already shit situation this clown is making it far worse.
  4. Kwame Poku if the fee is reasonable enough. Similar to Abdul but we desperately need another dynamic winger. Ideally we shift one of Ayew or Reid and shifting their wage partially funds the deal. Bachir Belloumi looks smart too. https://fbref.com/en/players/b6cafcad/Bachir-Belloumi
  5. Patina is way more skate-focused than Wellgosh. Great if you like Fucking Awesome less so if you like Patagonia.
  6. Used a parking website last week in Newcastle, £13 Friday-Sunday and it was a doddle. Other car parks were coming in at as 3 or 4 times the price.
  7. I don't like the national treasure moniker particularly. However Paul Whitehouse is my comedy hero. I'm going to the Fast Show evening in London later this year and really looking forward to - genius characters that only somebody so well immersed across the depth and breadth of Britain could come up with.
  8. Was that the game Iheanacho was unreal or was that the near comeback one
  9. The gap was getting bigger in our favour for a long time. It’s inexcusable we got relegated after finishing 8th the year before.
  10. I know he’s worth more than that but at £50 or £60m Cunha is still better value than Bilal at £30m. We’re the worst negotiators in football, nobody else was in for Skipp, let alone pay that much for him.
  11. I missed it at the time, what happened with Cover's loan, recalled and sent out again?
  12. "The best one-off musical moment in the history of football" regarding Nessun Dorma pre-Everton is a great quote.
  13. I agree he looks better elsewhere but if you have £25m available for a signing (probably only 30 or so clubs do), why would you buy Bilal? You’d buy Cunha. If you couldn’t land Cunha you’d look elsewhere. Other clubs don’t think, oh he’s just playing in a really bad team that doesn’t score - they’ll assess him in his own merit and slightly caveat his output instead. Any data driven side (most with that sort of money to spend) looks at a 1st percentile non pen xG+xA per 90 and completely swerves. We know he’s far better than this but scouts who’d watch perhaps 5 or so games and the analysts with the data wouldn’t recommend 25m on him.
  14. Who is buying Bilal? He’s talented but he’s done very little in the PL. £25m+ for somebody with strikingly few goals or assists is too much in the PSR and we’re not selling for a loss
  15. I’ve mentioned it on here before but I just don’t feel the same adulation for Claudio. It was all so fleeting and then he unpicked some of the good work that stood before him.
  16. I wish it could have been Nigel in charge when we won the league. He built it, facilitated it, fostered it. Him and his team, just winners. Shakespeare, Walsh, Rennie, Balsom - legends.
  17. TV tower for breakfast or lunch, completely under visited for whatever reason. Zizkov (the district where it is) is cool, go to the monument. Walk up to the castle the grounds are worth it alone, it was about £20 for entry and I'm of the opinion once you've been to one castle - you've been to them all. Get the funicular up to Petrin, walk around there, slightly surreal place but fantastic views. Don't bother with the Staropramen tour. If you have time my strongest recommendation would be go to Kutna Hora and see Sedlec Ossuary, there's artwork and sculptures made from tens of thousands of human bones from the Hussite wars. The old town is nice too, 40 minutes or so on the train. Bar wise, can't go wring with European Bar Guide's recs, try and use a few Czech lines (e.g do you speak English), softens them up slightly otherwise they can be surly. Lokal Dlouahaaa (sp) is great. Beerpoint and Moskyt are close to each other and fun in different ways.
  18. He’d get a job at a Sevilla tier club next, wouid be daft for him to come back
  19. Black Horse feels very unlike a Leicester pub imo and it’s all the better for it. Unique exterior and interior with the Toby jugs and other ornamental knick-knacks, old school toilets, comedy venue and food.
  20. Good point on the villages, not something I’ve ever really considered. My initial thought is somewhere affluent and historical in the South East but then a trendy village not far from a big northern city might be more cutting edge.
  21. Whelan and Rudkin don't talk to each other apparently!
  22. Sheffield is great but the centre isn't that strong. Suburbs are cracking though. Depends on what you like. My city pub rating is some combo of volume, beer selection, interior, atmosphere, price, pub proximity, city attractiveness, stumble-ability Best in class per city size imo: London Sheffield, Bristol, Liverpool Edinburgh, Nottingham, Norwich, Hull York Haven't been to Glasgow or Belfast so can't comment on those.
  23. If some functions were working well then it wouldn't be entirely Top's fault but at this point, nothing works as it should and he does nothing to replace the senior leaders championing failure. Dave Rennie is the only non-coaching role I can remember anybody being sacked from, we just tolerate crap performance.
  24. Newcastle has loads of pubs but has the same problem with Leeds. Giant, generic contemporary bars without a lick of character plus all the usual chains. Crown Posada, Bridge Hotel and the Free Trade Inn were the pick of the bunch.
  25. Surely there isn't anybody still clinging on to the idea it's just the board's fault anyway, rather than Top's - but this is why Top has to go. How can you have the same failure play out again, as your few hundred million pound assets craters again with the same people making the same mistakes again and not be apoplectic? He either doesn't know what the problem is or he's too meek to do anything about it - either way he's completely unsuited to owning a club and he should f uck off.
