  1. A great frustration of mine is how unmeritocratic the broadcasting ecosystem is. Nevin is a fantastic pundit and he had an excellent career in his own right but he's not a recently retired ex-pro or 'huge' name so he'll never get a Super Sunday gig. Instead we have Micah Richards' incessant cackling, Roy Keane's hackneyed misery or Karen ****ing Carney.
  2. Rehill’s in Jesmond is the best off license/bottle shop I’ve ever been to. So much breadth and depth.
  3. He’s been awful at RB, at CB it’d be disastrous
  4. Salah is having the best PL season ever. Henry 03/04 and Suarez 13/14 be are the only contenders. 24 goals and 15 assists in 26 games is just absurd.
  5. Shift Kristiansen (Bologna perhaps) and sign Alfie Doughty, 0.33 xA per 90 is top class anyway, never mind in a floundering side.
  6. I'm really torn, I don't rate him (nor do I think he's terrible) but I do like him. Cooper was both shit and immensely unlikeable, can't believe so many did initially take to him.
  7. It's global Dju-ish conspiracy
  8. Not just anti-fan but disgusting from just a human perspective. Profiteering from fans with cancer. Lots of people at the club need to be sacked.
  9. You'd think having a director of football who was also the academy director might be good for the academy's prospects. The fact it isn't - is damning on Rudkin, if you're not using your indue influence to recruit managers that will bring your academy labour of love to life then when actually is he having any strategic input? I am genuinely fascinated by what he does day to day. I think it's a lot of nothing.
  10. Wholeheartedly agree. We were also one of the incumbents for who the gap grew ever wider... in our favour for however many years, we can't be hard done by on that front. We essentially chose to get relegated through inaction. We had our highest net spend ever in the summer despite FFP troubles. Southampton spent £80m NET after receiving in about £160m NET the previous summer. Ipswich spent about £140m net. Those net spends are probably higher than the bottom 10 combined in Germany/Spain/Italy/France. It's more that promoted clubs keep making poor decisions, especially regarding managerial recruitment e.g sticking with Russell sodding Martin and appointing Cooper. It's not as if this Wolves team (£8m net spend this summer) are infallible either.
  11. We don’t score enough goals. Doesn’t matter what the current gap is, we’ve gone 5 home games goalless and we concede two a game. RVN is stubborn too so I can’t see anything changing significantly enough.
  12. Gyokeres, Gibbs-White, Guehi, Connor Roberts, the better Ayew...
  13. Cooper has a similar premier league record to Steve Kean. He's shit, look what happened to Forest after he left.
  14. Westminster is crap for pubs. The Hole In The Wall by Waterloo is possibly my favourite London boozer. Massive (and good) selection.
  15. Never watched him play but Hayden Hackney looks special based on his stats.
  16. Can't begrudge him wanting to leave. He's been here since 2017, his standards are still high and more or less everybody else is shit. He stuck by us in the championship once and he's far better than that level, hence these rumours.
  17. Likely BIDs that arrange it. Leicester CC are completely normative when it comes to trying things. Box parks, the Halloween monsters, light festivals. Cities with a profile like Leicester’s can get ahead events wise by being trying all sorts and being a great test case. Instead the BID and council will wait until something’s tired elsewhere and package it up as innovative here.
  18. I think they were your recommendations originally!
  19. Kay’s Bar. Teutchar’s Landing and Malt & Hops in Leith. You won’t go wrong looking at European Bar Guide
  20. Welcome break from the swathe of big standard selection pubs. Even the two BCA pubs don’t have as wide a range and I’m not bothered by craft either so I enjoy it a lot.
  21. Even this crop of idiots have proved you don’t have to be that competent to take a club to the top 10. Then through ignorance, hubris, cowardice, complacency, stupidity didn’t remove the people drastically underperforming. Rudkin and Whelan don’t talk to each other, Top is just fine with this because he’s just so out of his depth.
  22. Our fans praise King Power for changing the sheets after they piss the bed.
  23. He played well for Bologna last season and they finished in top 4. He’s not fantastic but he’s nowhere our worst player. He isn’t paralysed in possession like Justin and he’s a better one on one defender. Coulibaly looked competent enough yesterday. Whether Justin is injured or not he has to start.
  24. The non-disclosure stuff is ridiculous and the antithesis of fan engagement.
  25. Ale Wagon was great today. Cask selection as strong as ever, the Charnwood guest ale was tasty (not blue fox).
