City of Leicester & Leicestershire - The Good and Historical Stuff
Stadt replied to davieG's topic in General Chat
Western Boulevard and Braunstone Gate have been ruined by the council, demolishing the bowstring bridge and Pump & Tap for a run of the mill uni building. Bede island has aged horribly too. Now the council are petrified of aggressive redevelopment because of past mistakes, they're overly heritage focused now. I went to an event where they basically ruled out tall developments (9 storeys in their opinion ). -
Most stewards aren't very bright and they're usually even less interested
-
We have to start thinking 2 or 3 years ahead, we stopped doing that which is partly why we were relegated and so many players left on a free before and after. Thomas isn't part of our plans long term - we have Kristiansen (although his future is unsure) who cost a decent wedge and is younger.
-
Feel a bit sorry for him really, the timings haven’t worked out well for him. Great shot stopper but he’s so uncomfortable with the ball. Seems like a fantastic pro.
-
Depends on what Man City think of Doyle, I don't think they'd turn down £15m ish as he's most likely not up to their standards
-
I don’t think he’d want to hang around if he knows he’s not up to it in the PL. Doesn’t strike me as somebody who’d enjoy the Middle East, the US seems the best fit if he does move on.
-
Jacob Greaves seems perfect for LCB, I've not watched much of him but he looks more athletic than Doyle although I'd be happy if we signed CD permanently.
-
You aren't really taking my points on board, we'll leave it at that.
-
He’s not had a minute since WBA, Wanya has been frozen out, signed a contract and made a cameo in that time. I never specified what a decent fee is, you wouldn’t sell him for 5m? We paid a touch more for Mavididi. We’re almost certainly getting promoted, it’s likely not going to cut it in the PL. Is this absurd? Of course not. In his defence he’s not played all that much, partially through injury but beyond that it’s not a ringing endorsement. I actually hope he’s really good but from what I’ve seen he had a bit of purple patch playing in a really good team. Federico Macheda, Schlupp, Iheanacho even are the sort of players who like they’ll break through at a level above what they eventually settle at - McAteer is one of those imo.
-
Like I said, he’s done a great job at getting on the end of chances. His all round game hasn’t been impressive, he doesn’t get his head up very well, his passing is pretty basic. He works hard and he’s quick but he’s not getting much of a look in for a reason, been subbed off in his last few starts. Absurd and blind are complete exaggerations
-
Absurd how? Please elaborate
-
Are skiing holidays markedly more expensive than a normal holiday? Never really given it much thought until recently and as nauseating social climber it seems up my street
-
I've not been very impressed generally in the limited minutes he's had. He's showed good instincts to get on the end of things but he's not great in possession - probably fine as a squad player but if we can pick up a decent fee for him I'd sell.
-
I clicked on this thread ready to fly off the handle, my cortisol spiked, proper fuming. I was expecting "He deserves some credit for getting Enzo the players he wants" etc. Thank heavens it was taking the piss.
-
If you were a manager with limited number of players to pick, you wouldn't call up somebody with an injury. Even if he's unavailable for just 2 games why bother? Maresca is astute enough to play on this perfectly
-
Haha there’s a few familiar flags there @SemperEadem
-
He looks like he's bulked up a bit to me
-
I wanna tell you, I might as well do, About a boy who can do anything Harry Winks, Harry Winks, Harry Winks Is that really beyond your comprehension?
-
Great balance, scored a few like the second for Preston. He’s a wiry 5’10 or 5’11 but looks strong. Decision making was pretty good too, got his head up
-
I’d be disenfranchised completely if it wasn’t for UFS. I’m sure it’s the same with other groups but it feels like we have to overcome obstacle after obstacle - we always do.

He’s not the sharpest, already landed himself in hot water earlier in the year and didn’t change the handle after people knew who he was. To do this is very, very daft.
-
He was good last night but his decision making was often awful, a large part of our loss of his control was from him ALWAYS trying to break. If he’d have been more composed we could have recycled the ball much more often seen the game out. It wasn’t just him but it lead to the freneticism which didn’t suit us, especially with Akgun and Casadei’s lack of athleticism in the middle - created a big disconnect.
-
He’s far too aggressive when he steps out and his mobility for a relatively small CB is terrible too. Leaves big holes at the back.

Pure shores was a banger tbf
