  1. And also there are signings who’d be decent in the championship and excellent in L1. Trying to tap these (cheap) players up now would help when there’s a chance we’re still in the division.

  3. We've been losing comfortably in probably about half of our defeats so there's been no pressure at all in the final 30 minutes, those games have been the perfect opportunity to give Hutchinson/Evans/Briggs etc 10 or 15 minutes. Those 10 or 15 minutes a) massively help the player's development but b) also put them in the shop window for better loans. Instead these opportunities are blocked by pointless signings like Aribo or Richards who offer zero long term value - actually negative long term value because they get in the way and cost us X amount.
  4. We paid c. £20m for him in 2024, we paid about £17m for Ndidi 7 years prior - completely the going rate for a promising AM in Belgium. Sunderland paid similar for two players from there this summer jus gone. Stuttgart are 3rd atm btw and he has 12 G+A in about 25 nineties so he's doing more than okay. Although I agree on the Buonanotte point.
  5. ...and if Stuttgart were so adamant they couldn't cough up £25m so we just actually made a profit, structure a deal with add-ons so they would be happy to pay any additional. He's on 12 G+A from about 25 nineties, I'm sure right now they'd be happy to pay £30m+ for him.
  6. It's also, in the eyes of Redditors a direct endorsement of basically Hitler, when it's nothing to do with the point you made.
  7. Yeah, primarily people that don't go to games.
  8. He'll be the face of September in the EFL League 1 Leicester City 2026/2027 Season
  9. Pino isn’t a 10 so not like for like. I think we’re bad at actually drumming up interest. He wouldn’t have been on a massive wage - reading between the lines I don’t think we sure of notify that player X is for sale well. I just refuse to believe we couldn’t eke out say £3m more from Stuttgart
  10. I find it difficult to believe we couldn’t have turned a £3m or so profit and that Stuttgart had hard red line at £17m rather than paying £20m. They were flush with cash, they chanced their arm and we went along with it. If he did just go on strike it wouldn’t have done his reputation any favours and I can’t blame the club for not taking the risk - but why weren’t trying to sort this earlier?
  11. Because we're losing money hand over fist, we've lost a player that we need to replace (amongst lots of other players). He cost us £21m and Stuttgart said they've bought him for £17m (less any loan fee, don't know what that was). How is the shortfall funded? I'd wager Stuttgart haven't been paying 100% of his wages either.
  12. We make an accounting loss on him, maybe break even PSR wise. The actual loss is the bigger problem at this stage
  13. Sesko. A lot of the bidding is less formal and through enquiries, rather than lodging a proper bid. Clubs know about the interest in players so set the fee higher because they know of of the interest
  14. We have a player we want to sell, his market value was somewhere in the £20m - £30m range, we purchased him for £21m. Stuttgart would naturally try and lowball us, as is their prerogative, ours is to maximise the sale. We knew they'd had a windfall from sales. BEK having a paddy didn't help us but making a loss when we're already in financial difficulty should have been completely off the table. Negotiate from higher starting position to find the equilibrium. Instead they've completely won this transfer in about every facet and we come out losing in all regards.
  15. That didn't mean we had to accept a loss on the player. Stuttgart's sales last summer, holding out for £25M+ was perfectly feasible €116.55m Nick Woltemade Newcastle €75.00m Enzo Millot Al-Ahli €30.00m Woo-yeong Jeong Union Berlin €4.00m Jacob Bruun Larsen Burnley €4.00m Anrie Chase Salzburg €2.00m Jovan Milosevic Werder Bremen Loan fee: €650k Luca Raimund F. Düsseldorf €400k Dennis Seimen SC Paderborn Loan fee: €250k Silas Mainz €150k Yannik Keitel Augsburg Loan fee: €100k Leonidas Stergiou Heidenheim loan transfer Juan José Perea FC Zürich free transfer Luca Pfeiffer SV Elversberg ? 16. Terrible manager, one of the few good decisions we've made in recent years was sacking him quickly. In a way I wish we didn't now though, would have been just as bad as RVN anyway
  17. Charging the same for (potential) League 1 football and the Premier League . Also interesting they're benchmarking against other Championship clubs with the 16 > 14 change but bet they won't with physical tickets or with gambling sponsors etc.
  18. Means it's more important to try and leverage the first few deals well, make a good sale first and it strengthens your position further down the line as there's less desperation. The season Top became owner of the club Stuttgart were in the 2. Bundesliga and feasibly Vardy was worth more than their whole squad. Now we're selling players at a loss to them because of RAT (Rudkin and Top)
  19. That was a big Ipswich over pay, our selling track record is terrible. It doesn’t make sense Rudkin would dig his heels in over McAteer but get done over in every other deal.
  20. It’s not - it depends on what the bidding club(s) are willing to pay. He’s 22 (I think) has a great record of G+A, brilliant 1 v 1 and has a mercurial ability to score from range. Bournemouth, Brighton, Leeds, Sunderland etc will be very interested at £25m, never mind £20m
  21. Inb4 Well we got relegated, we’re not going to get [market value] loads for him! No end product last season anyway Good riddance, willy puller. But it’s another fumble and unforced error because Rudkin just can’t negotiate at all. The one player we have sold for way over his market value in the last 10 years was Maguire, when Whelan stepped in ffs

  24. Everybody knows Madri isn’t Spanish (yet some bores regale with you this as if it’s hot off the press) but passing beers off as imported from CZ and Italy when they’re brewed in Burton and Manchester takes the piss a bit. Imitating craft style trappings with a beer board but it’s for macro lagers is just classic Everards missing the mark.
