  1. He won National League North with Tamworth last season. Overweight but a superb footballer
  2. Bret Hart is probably the one wrestler what comes out looking as a decent person
  3. Apparently they were supposed to be paying Ash Carter £700 p/wk. Either way it wasn’t sustainable there - small crowds, terrible ground. There’s a lot of hard work there in the last ten years all been pissed up the wall cos of some charlatan promising money
  4. The club congratulating on Twitter on Josh King getting in England U19s. Only to realise it’s a Fulham player of the same name.
  5. This is it and when he says he believes in this team you know it’s a worthless fib
  6. 4/6 for Mr McMahon Its effectively a history of modern wrestling isn’t it? It’s not really a documentary or particularly well made one. The director doesn’t poke enough at the hints or secrets. Then he’s attempted to void himself slightly by repeating that the interviews were done before his charge. The director is sucked in by McMahon’s hubris That said, I’ve loved watching it! 😂
  7. There’s more people going live football in this country than ever before. It is expected to break the million (on a single weekend) attendance mark over the next year - the last time that occurred was part of a campaign in the 60s when clubs slashed prices to achieve it. The EFL reported their biggest accumulative attendances figures since the 50s on the last two seasons https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c2ll8jdknzeo.amp
  8. I really believe in my work and definitely believe in my players. If you did Steve you wouldn't have us set in such an unsure manner.
  9. Premier League Win Percentages Lampard 41% Gerrard 32.5% Cooper 19%
  10. Dolman joins Harborough. Great signing and I can think we can put to bed any ideas that they don’t have much money cos that will be costing a bob or two
  11. There’s a real good podcast doing the rounds at the moment about how clubs can foster good relationships with fans (and the monetary benefit) by approving of good causes, celebrating heritage and local community/history. At LCFC, there are people in positions who are just bad at their job. They’ve had careers completely unsuitable for a provincial football club. Their brains are focused on a corporate level type of customer
  12. Why do you think that?
  13. Monday night I’m guessing. Not much to choose from.
  14. Why the laughter? Mon god? I doubt don’t we’d be shocking at the back but they’d be games where we would be strong on the counter. As seen in the cup games v Liverpool and Bournemouth
  15. And those teams come at us. Which is what would happen this season. We’d be pretty quick and nifty on the counter
  16. I’ve said it elsewhere. If the club didn’t get an offer of quality, then they must surely think he’s conference level given he didn’t get a minute against Walsall
  17. Pogacar became world champ on Sunday. Highly impressive victory
  18. NRL Grand Final on Sunday morning worth a watch
  19. Which is a great point but it's why I take issue with the point it's about the style of football. A lot of teams in Serie A play possession based football - Juventus have currently conceded zero goals. Motta is really pragmatic. Three of those seasons had league winning margins over 10 points. I think the difference with Serie A is that it's played in a setting which is far intertwined with emotion. Even when the stadiums are half full - there's all sorts of legacies to the events on the pitch which feeds off into emotion and performance. You can see how this occurs in the Bundesliga and that's a league which has been dominated by one club for a long time. English football is played largely in sterile atmospheres - that's the base background. It's very basic opinion but it makes me wonder whether that's why we see less individuality. The moment when the player forgets tactics or instructions and pleases the crowd by going for it. Personally I don't really take umbrage with a footballing style but I do think there is an issue that all coaches go through similar UEFA taught management courses. Therefore there is this desire for control. Control means taking away emotion. Defensive shape is the king.
  20. Tap the map 😂
  21. I couldn't think of two clubs more likely to have a spat.
  22. Dollar. Which is more than valid. However at times I think it's misplaced. Soccer works well as the MLS - it's worked out the formula - creating something partisan, pride in your city, put some smaller cities without Big 4 franchises in it too. This attracts a younger crowd and a community based crowd. When they host the big teams, they end up targeting a different type of fan. Which will work for the World Cup but something like the World Club Cup (lesser European teams/non-North & South America teams) games will be a really hard sell Cricket will be incredibly hard to take off outside of the Asian teams hosting games there. Rugby I simply can't see working. There is too much of a comparison in the US which is incredibly strong in all areas (NFL/NCAA Football)
  23. I am going off the club's official press release about it back in 2013. https://www.lcfc.com/news/434600?lang=en Although the most recent accounts on the assets section suggest it's tied to the club. As an OE, there's not a lot of info - in fact it appears the company appears to have been running in 2013 and becomes reincorporated in 2023. So who knows?
