Which teams are supported in your workplace?
CosbehFox replied to TiffToff88's topic in General Football and Sport
In Birmingham so we have:- 1 x Manchester U 3 x Villa 2 x WBA 1 x Leicester 1 x Swansea 1 x Wolves 1 x Celtic 1 x Forest 2 x Birmingham 1 x Bournemouth Bournemouth fan does away games only! Wolves is a STH. -
Leicestershire Senior League champions last season - big step up as Asfordby found last season. Be a laugh when Nuneaton play at New College.
-
Assume the U’s denote upper - any idea where the safe standing is?

In the last two years, they've played those sides 4 times out of 21 games. The strongest side San Marino played in that period was Denmark. San Marino in those two years have played Andorra, Liechtenstein (2), Gibraltar (2), Moldova, St Kitts (2), Moldova, Cyprus, Slovakia, N.Ireland, Kazahnstan, Finland. Real heavyweights of world football.

So I get why VAR is in 100% use for offsides - it's a yes or no answer. But what there is no allowance for is where there is inconclusive evidence to give yes or no. It appears (and it's not the only time it's happened there either) that the cameras at Selhurst Park are inadequate. An utter mess. -
Suspect both Leics clubs might slip away now - two tough draws.
-
They regularly lose by a couple to Australia or Qatar. They played Bayern Munich in 2012 and lost 4-0. Drew 0-0 with a full West Brom team in 2000.
-
Another point that has crossed my mind if you compare San Marino to Gibraltar. The Gibraltar team best players have never kept a place in a League 1 team (Tjay De Barr), their players then based in the UK are youngsters at clubs (including surprisingly one player at Man U) and then Braintree Town. Jack Sergeant was representing them whilst playing for Step 10 team. So you are probably looking at their level being Conf North/South - and they are far more successful with results than San Marino.

Tbf Rugby were outplayed for long spells on Saturday. Just hung in and used set pieces well Hednesford, give their due, big budget but do try to play football properly. Normally when that cash comes in, it’s direct and win at all costs.

Incredibly harshly judged by LCFC fans because we became so reliant on him. He’s got 42 PL goals - keep fit, he will get 100 in his career
-
You can certainly compare St Lucia & Seychelles to those teams though. India's fixtures are predomintly against Middle East/Far East sides looking at their results
-
It's much of a muchness. San Marino play Nations League against fellow minnows and their friendlies have been against St Kitts & Nevis, Seychelles, St Lucia, Estonia, Cyprus and Moldova. Their most recent qualifying group wasn't that strong (a two year occasion isn't that regular) - Denmark highest seed - Australia beat Denmark at the most recent World Cup. India's games follow a similar pattern really. By comparison, India have recently won a Nations League style tournament whereas San Marino fail in it. That's why the difference.

I don't think it's so much that. Enzo was 'this is my plan, look how it works' Copper is appearing more I don't have much of a plan, what about if we do this? It's more about leadership, trust and intelligence than outright tactics. Enzo wasn't overly popular towards the end. That said I don't think Cooper is unpopular - it's probably one or two players having a moan (or their agents) - there's lots of moan about, the players are trying.

Championship 2024/2025 Season Thread

Hughes was their Rodgers Initially used what they had and mixed it with some decent talent but then double downed on indulgence with such type of players. Started off with Arnautovic, Bojan and Muniesa ended up with Imbula, Bony and Berahino. -
Me and the other half next summer are looking at doing Berlin but going via train using the European Sleeper or Nightjet from Brussels. Anyone got any recommendations? We'd probably treat ourselves to booking the entire couchette or compartment.

The Running Thread (formerly How fast can you run a 5k?)
CosbehFox replied to Sly's topic in General Chat
Ran 17.5k early - utter crap run, felt awful after about 5k. Leics Half looks hard work at the mo -
They will given Wrexham had a very popular Trifoil 80s shirt
-
Financial restrictions as well over the summer until the end of the window. 1 new signing in their starting line up today
-
All four games we’ve lost on xG - including if you take Palace’s penalty away. A good indicator that the same thing can’t keep happening. The evidence is there that anything that has been achieved to date is rather more down to individuals than tactics
-
Villa and Spurs had the chances to do that
-
South Africa Rugby Twitter is a special place. Christ this URC / Anglo Welsh stuff - I simply don’t think they can see why an A-W works on so many levels
-
How does the ball get to those players Steve if you put on a midfield not known for his ability to pass through the lines ?
-
But that’s the crux of the matter why is Cooper going defence first if we can’t rely on them to see teams out? Use the strongest part of the squad rather than the weakest
-
No. It’s an opinion I held from when we first signed him. £7.5 million and a shedload of wages we didn’t need to spend. Said at the time I don’t think he’s good for the Prem anymore hence why two lower half PL clubs passed him - so struck me as a daft signing at time with the aim of promotion within a year. I don’t think he’s a particularly bad player - I just think it was a poor value for money signing. An example of us doing really bad business (particularly in a position we were stacked).

Euro 2028 tournament will be played on these shores

They’ve always been no to government involvement of the FAs. Likes of Greece been warned with sanction before. IOC is supposed to be on the same basis as well
