  1. Former league club too! Saw them at Vardy's old club, Stockbridge PS, make some right noise in a FA Cup game.
  2. Glorious leader is normally used by a certain type of country
  3. The section about overseas players being enticed to play because new ownership means more money to burn. There's just no sustainability in that. It's chasing money after chasing money to a level that the revenue available in the UK can not meet the demand. The claims that there was an average c15k attendance to games is interesting! 540k over 35 games...
  4. Surpassed 300 last weekend - Bromley to go for the 92. It looks like I am firmly set on:- Lech v Legia - weekend of 9th Nov Juve v Bologna - weekend of 7th Dec Lech (and Poland) is silly how cheap it is. £140 for a double room, 3 nights in Poznan in a modern hotel. Ticket expected to be around £25. That enables me to do Turin which will be a lot more. Struggling to find someone to do Belgrade derby with in mid-Feb. I have been wondering about doing it through Away Fans - it's £300 plus flights (going to be £150-200); initially I thought this might be a bit naff but I spoke to a couple of people who did their trip out through them and they said it was really good.
  5. I'd love to visit Trabzon. But christ its hard to get to!
  6. Forest? Their FFP allowance was reduced due to their 2 years in the Championship and 1 yr in the PL?
  7. Anything under 300 at Taunton with its small boundaries is a good bowling shift
  8. This has been in planning before then. It will be the work of the new fan engagement bod. Straight from the 100 play book.
  9. Braybrooke and Mill Hill spring to mind but it would have to be cans / bottles
  10. A lot of these food options and local brewery beers are already at St Albans ! This is how far behind LCFC are.
  11. Interested to see this. It’s taken them about eight years to catch up with existing patterns elsewhere. Its success will be partly determined on price as well. Issue is they’ve left it so long is there are people like myself who won’t give them a penny more than except what gets me to enter the ground
  12. Already tried earlier this summer supposedly.
  13. Spurs still have some major defensive flaws. Set pieces and high line in particular. Made some howling playing out for the back errors during pre season too
  14. Deadline day isn’t certainly not the best time to get value in the transfer market. The selling club know you are desperate
  15. Decent enough signing - the figure is a little bit over the value but I’d be more concerned that’s quite a slice of the budget gone when you need the money for a striker
  16. You are right. We’ve way over paid for Okoli. Something is strange about that deal and I can’t get my head around. Jay O’Shay had about the same PL experience as Okoli and Burnley signed him from WBA at £7million
  17. You’d think the departure of Gyokeres would be the key for Sporting
  18. Went Newport Pagnell-Dunstable for some cup action. Expected more from NP given their recent seasons but there was a clear difference. Dunstable won 1-0 but should have been more.
  19. How did they compare to Sutton United ?
  20. One football, some streaming service got the other Serie A games. Free this weekend but speculating it’s a pay service after that
  21. People are comparing their assessment of buying a club and appointing appropriately experienced people to do football roles. The whole commercialisation you’d be correct on but at the centre of it to push the football side of it on, even if organisationally they had to get the correct people in. Plenty of clubs have had sheds of cash and pissed it up the walls in the bottom two divisions
  22. A far more balanced piece than the Samuel stuff I’ve seen written on it. I found this bit interesting considering Swiss Ramble is normally spot on with this sort of thing The football finance blogger Swiss Ramble estimated that, even with a generous reading of permissible deductions, they are likely to be about £29m over the £105m threshold for losses over three years. There could be problems next year as well, with Swiss Ramble projectinganother breach unless Leicester can somehow turn a profit of £12m this season.
  23. There’s no doubt a difference of Wrexham but it’s important to note how they employed people in positions where required. Not mentioned but the appointment of Fleur Robinson was big for them. She used to work at burton (daughter of the owner) and she’s seen it from the Championship to League 2. She’s left now but the perfect example of them recognising where the experience is needed for that particularly part of the journey. Humphrey Ker’s interviews last weekend were really interesting. He admitted that not everything they’ve done has worked and has been successful. The whole approach has been they must consistently review what works and what doesn’t. But even if we step away from Wrexham and look at recent takeovers at a PL level. A lot of new owners have set about getting the sporting director role right - Newcastle with Ashworth, now at Man U…lots of other examples too. Villa with Monchi another example to push them onto another level. The top of the club must be improved upon and review constantly in the same way your playing squad is
  24. That’s one on the way back from Fulham list
