There were two Ashford Town’s for a long time. Although I see it took a last minute equaliser for Nuneaton to get a draw tonight

Kleo - brilliant fun

So let me get this right - you are saying that a Director of Football does not have an awareness of the budget set by the financial team and therefore can not communicate to the manager (and a scouting team) what parameters they working in? And a manager wouldn't ask these questions throughout a season or in the lead-up to each transfer window. I think we have the reason why we might be in the shit then.

Tottenham (H) - Mon 19 Aug 8pm - Pre-Match Thread
CosbehFox replied to lnkstern's topic in Leicester City Forum
Done a bit of digging on Spurs pre-season. They have conceded a lot of goals during pre-season. They haven't been able to play Romero and Van de Ven until second half of their last friendly. There are some areas we can really get at them but it means executing like we haven't done in pre-season. Their defensive line is shocking high, they can't defend set pieces and they are trying to get Vicario to pass out from the back (but Bissouma / Spence (whose been playing inverted LB)) keep fcuking it up. -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

Not the easiest site either with differing levels -
He is here until we get a new left back in

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

We can’t. It’s complex. We have the long term leasehold, YMCA have the freehold. Assumed sporting covenant on it as well -
The original post wasn’t saying anything about Rudkin and financial decisions but rather communication of the financial situation
-
You said it before me. Alongside that as a better reputation from other clubs. Ie. Not so quiet 😂 You have to remember Top doesn’t really have any allegiance to Whelan. She was Vichai’s business appointment and my own personal opinion is that’s one of the reasons we have issues in recent years. There’s a complex Succession type environment around LCFC and King Power

Thing is I don’t think that shirt in question is bespoke. They consulted Newcastle who just said use those colours. Exactly like we could do.

It’s not mainly London. It’s a serious issue across the Uk. Just look at the locations to this link here https://www.theguardian.com/uk/knifecrime Manchester, Leeds, Exeter, Wolverhampton (that’s an awful case which coverage had to be rightly protected), Bath. Some of these locations are considered quite affluent

She’s clever enough to be widely respected across the Premier League at their monthly meetings, do transfer dealings with Chelsea and Manchester United and be taking calls from agents about new managers. Whelan has minimal input on football side but she’s intelligent. Which makes some of the stuff they’ve pulled on the non playing side probably worse. My gut is that there is a mighty power struggle throughout the club.

Newcastle’s new away shirt is nothing particularly outstanding but given its a nod to a shirt from 90s will literally sell thousands. They’ve done a slick release video and made it feel part of something. A complete contrast to that awful away shirt and it’s launch

Ian Long has got in there and been showing his nasty side off. Can't believe so many decent footballers have followed him there. The set-up is awful. The pitch one of the worst at Step 4.

They are. One of the massive symptoms of Covid is the suburbs gaining popularity over inner-city areas. I owned a house at the very edge of the city of Birmingham - bought for £120k, sold seven years later for £200k. Both cities have affluent suburbs not dis-similar to what you described in Angel. Your point is generally solid though.

Slightly propped up though by his performance against lower level opposition in the DFB Pokal though
-
Which is one of the reasons we couldn’t persuade Potter. It depends how desperate the individual is for the job
-
If we viewed managers in the same way the owners are viewed, then we’d still have Rodgers or Ranieri in charge. But we don’t because they got bad at their job. Which is exactly what’s happening here

Championship 2024/2025 Season Thread

The only reason Rooney’s got the Plymouth job is that the Director of Football was his youth coach. The last four appointments at Plymouth have all been scousers with a history with Neil Dewsnip. It’s mad how pro clubs can be ran like that -
As @Ric Flair mentioned, its in our favour that other clubs considering signing him are normally very good at player identification (Sporting and Bologna)
-
When you place the loan fee into the wider context if it was a long term deal, it does make you fear that it’s bad value
-
Yeah we won’t move anyone on. Players are back on comfy wedge now and have no incentive to leave. The errors of the past haunting us again
-
He makes no sense to sign. A single season of success. He’s 28. So you aren’t getting any profit from him. He’s 32 when his contract is done.
-
The difficulty this is an area we genuinely aren’t party to. Glover and his staff might be throwing all sorts of names and from different markets. However you have a DoF whose relationship with agents isn’t great and we aren’t party to a managers preferences (the only public thing he’s said is PL experience).
