It looks like we have a league for next season. No one really knows what it looks like. Rumours of Forest Basketball too

Southgate steps down as England manager

I’m amazed they haven’t made a final/cash in of the tiers below the top one -

Squad was notably tired in June 2022 for the 2023 edition after a daft COVID schedule - so let them off for that. France and Germany were both iffy as well in that edition. While only really Netherlands took it with serious nature in the group stages (ironically one of the few leagues not to play out their COVID interrupted season). 2021 - done by a good Belgium side. He took the other Nations League with seriousness and ended up in the final four. -
Like him but don't love him. Does a lot of running.

One of the reasons this tournament wasn’t so smooth. England were excellent at set pieces in the other tournaments under Southgate. -
You get the luck of the bracket if you win the groups. Before Southgate we'd won two of the last ten major competition group stages.

It's been home office/international clearance paperwork holding it up.

Appears to be the case. They are on home weekend of 19th October and 4th May - looking at the latter now. The flights from UK in October are quite high cos of half term. Mad thing if they are being kept - Foggia are home on weekend of 19th which is the third club of Puglia!

Old City shirt - help with where it’s from

My thoughts -
Serie C fixtures today has thrown up a couple of great possibilities. Mid-March 2025 - Palermo at home + Messina v Catania derby. Perugia v Ternana derby as well at play this season.
-
Sorry to announce but looks like Port Vale going for the Bass Charity Vase this year. The one that got away....
-
Palermo are using Man City's training setup - both owned by the City Group. They are playing Oxford the week after. (another Man City link)

Pochettino in at Newcastle. Everyone happy
-
Heard that not to be the case. They just want him playing cricket. However just seen his deal runs out at the end of the season - so does make you think that

Wording made by the Spanish police isn't helpful and problematic

Disagree. No England squad has collectively had La Liga Player of the year, cleaned up the PL personal awards and the Bundesliga top goal scorer. When you take those four players out, you have Foden 19 goals, Watkins 19 goals, Bowen & Saka 16 goals. Using 2006 by comparison - in the top ten goalscorers of PL, the highest English players selected for England were Lampard and Rooney with 16. They were four in total to the top ten (Darren Bent and Marlon Harewood the others) - this season they were 6. We have a tendency to over-rate that period - 7 English finalists in European Cup between 96-2010 over 14 years. We've managed 6 English finalists in the last six CL Finals.

Yeah. On Saturday. Of course LCFC’s superb communications skills haven’t even acknowledged that yet.
-
I suspect Goldsworthy will find himself at 100 franchise when they have first few pull outs. Which must be maddening for Somerset.
-
Be a few behind close doors I suspect. FC Annecy and SC Caen both said they playing us. Suspect that will be on camp in Evian and probably 60 min matches or similar
-
Not particularly sure the stat that tells you anything really though. Knockout games in the Euros were very few until 1996. World Cup format only really opened up post 1990 as well. We’ve beat a few of those in group stages when they were far more competitive than now. Uruguay we’ve played three times competitively - 1954, 1966, and 2012. Only really the latter probably says where we are
-
Lots of accusations. Probably more towards Vingegaard and his team. Worry for Pogacar is that he's now beginning to beat doped records. I really hope not with the latter cos it appears he's a superb bloke.
