  1. Backed very, very well by a massive pharmaceutical company.
  2. Disagree. Porto have superb record of developing players and pushing them onto big clubs. Winning trophies rather than getting hammered playing in the relegation zone. For Brazilians they can do this whilst not having to learn a new language and new culture. Plus point of course is they are living in a beautiful, cultured city rather than West Bridgford
  3. Shame Martin Bros doesn't have an outdoor area
  4. This is an example of how non league fans can't look past semantics. Equally the pyramid can't employ geographical barriers. There's always one part which is lob-sided because of population. Your divisional set-up for example includes teams in Lincolnshire and the North-East (4 hours - 220 miles). It's easier to travel at North-South directions in this country - so a trip to Bedford isn't that bad for say Coalville as it's all M1. Ypu've got Lowestoft (Suffolk) to say Gosport (Hampshire), that's over four hours travelling. The Step 2/3/4 of non-league isn't that bad - real issues are the imbalance at Step 5 where teams like Ingles in Thringstone are travelling to Telford for games.
  5. Totally fits on paper - but we will struggle if Porto really want him.
  6. Valencia was nice what I saw of it. Good if you want a mix of city break plus beach holiday
  7. I think that’s a fair sacking personally. Spent a lot of lolly - and failed to reach the top six. Manager gave him the full season.
  8. Stay up. Double points deduction gonna be fun
  9. But they didn’t put them on a bus or have them parade a pitch. There’s a new episode where Hugh Jackman says about ten words yet theres a full interview with a local photographer. The local people to the centre of how they show it.
  10. Jonathan Northcroft, latest journo to share and call it out.
  11. West Ham justified in letting Moyes go but that replacement is horrid. Bloke clearly brings baggage with him.
  12. Hopefully a complete re build. Had high hopes for Allen but he’s an unsavoury character and while he gets you points on the board, I don’t he helps you play team ball. Been crying out for a reliable rebounder for three years now.
  13. North East trips are a killer and being Mids based will help recruitment.
  14. Fair play Harborough. Think Anstey probably need another season at least to simply sort out their set up. That division could be really interesting next season with another moneybags project in Real Bedford coming in. Early projections have the Southern Midlands Premier looking a lot more southern based with Bedford, Biggleswade, Lowestoft and Bishops Stortford in there.
  15. Wages. That will be the issue flogging Cannon. It’s going to be loans forever no doubt unless he has a breakout season
  16. Real Madrid are an excellent judge at when to let go a player. You don’t keep the likes of Kroos and Modric around at their ages without a real good eye for when a player is at the end of his peak
  17. Everton won’t go into admin for me. They are in the shit in the short term though and repeatedly say so here when they were getting their points deduction reduced. Someone will buy them, largely because the new stadium gives them an asset above anything else the club has to offer. They can tie into redeveloping neighbouring land etc
  18. Just watching season 3 openers of Welcome to Wrexham. Excellent example of how a foreign owner(s) has showcased the town and its people at the heart of the club to the rest of the world and put that to the centre of how the club has gained fans from abroad etc.
  19. Michael Regan, city fan and once photographer for England NT, said on BSLB pod he’s like that really annoying kid at school. Funny once, not so funny when you have to spend all day with him.
  20. Some folk find it easier to see criticism as a form of black / white, yes / no. In a public face to face forum, they’d far more understanding. I hate how criticism is not taken constructively by some supporters. It’s a case of this could be better rather than a complete writing off of the whole ownership.
  21. They were staying at the Holiday Inn opposite Jubilee Square judging from their Instagram stories. Looks like they were given the day around Bath before heading to Leicester.
  22. Irrelevant. FFP etc means it needs to be hard revenue. That’s shirt sales, friendlies in Thailand etc. Millionaires aren’t the sort to fill out a stadium or start buying thousands of shirts. Now if we were talking about Japan or Korea, then we’d have a market which does have those possibilities. I just had a look at announced pre season friendlies in the PL and every single team is off to the US who have revealed their fixtures.
  23. The harsh reality of monetising that is massive. Thailand isn’t a country where the average local can spend money on us. We saw that with the washout friendly. No big six club is targeting Thailand as a market for example.
