The Running Thread (formerly How fast can you run a 5k?)

Visit a physio and get to the root. I was the same three years ago. Relatively fit, running three times a week and football once a week. But my back was still getting stiff. I took the disc to eventually slip before I did anything. Basically my core strength was poorly supporting my hammy and quads. Strength and conditioning was the key. -

Two sides so well balanced against each other ultimately. My only hot take is that Gill really needs to learn captaincy quickly and England desperately need to get some depth for the winter. -
Yeah we are still charged on that score. De Marco just put it off. Just got a load of money out of us, still got relegated, still charged.

Lots of examples where clubs have punished for messaging outside the field of play. Celtic, Barcelona and the Israeli clubs spring to mind. As @LCFCJohn has already not noted, it breaches Rule E3 of the FA rules. Article 44 within UEFA's rules cover it too.

Therefore comes under the FA's regulations If this involved the players and their 'equipment', it's pretty clear on this - https://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/lawsandrules/laws/football-11-11/law-4---the-players-equipment

This sort of thing was occurring under Vichai. All the support of the King etc.

It’s political messaging and not even a grey one at that. If they do it next week, I don’t think the EFL will be happy or their sponsors anyway

Been Clevedon this weekend. So underrated, you’ll only get a couple of days out of the town but British seaside without the craziness. Beautiful streets with Georgian houses to part of it. While the town centre has some decent shops. Five mins off the M5. Beach is rocky but they have a marina lake there you can dip in if it’s warm.

Ran Clevedon Parkrun yesterday - sub 25, pretty chuffed given current form. Today I did a 10k around there. It felt like I climbed every hill possible and thought it must be some huge elevation but apparently not. Either way some good running -
Well this was a cracking game. Portishead 4 Windsor & Eton 3. The away side had one cleared off the line in the very last minute of the game. Set up was a bit pants though. 4G cage set off from the clubhouse; they still had a small bar, the changing rooms and some poxy stands but three sided. You’d assume very small maximum capacity. Windsor did bring a fair few yesterday so it felt probably 80% full

They were forewarned in a FCC meeting to make sure all turnstiles are manned properly ro sort out issues. This was after feedback from Brighton away which was digital only. We await with baited breath

Hate to be doom mongering but I’m quite weary of taking anything from that result. I thought Fiorentina were utterly shocking until their subs. Outside of Fatawu being incredible, I don’t think we created enough chances against a really poor side.

Must admit I am baffled by Bannan. He hasn’t been paid on time for umpteen months but signs a new deal. At some point, Wednesday have to realise the nuclear option of boycotting is possibly the only way forward -

Tell you it really isn’t. We’d would be playing one day cricket with a red ball if the case -
How do people feel about #truthfromthailand advertised everywhere around the ground? Some campaign the Thai government have about their military disagreement with Cambodia

@Ric Flair can vouch for me back in August last year watching him play against Wrexham, I said he’s worth keeping an eye. Very strong but very raw. He completely tailed off at the end of the season with an injury rhough. But there’s a high ceiling there. He does work hard.

Off Portishead Town for FA Cup as in Clevedon for the weekend. In the week, I did North Greenford United. Step 5 in London. Some stand out players but surprisingly the standard wasn’t much better than Step 5 up here. Probably because of the higher concentration of clubs at Step 3/4 within London

To start with Chansiri was spending millions. They were in playoffs twice in his first two seasons. It was when he found that was unsustainable and then Wednesday got deducted points, that's where it started to go wrong. He's been there over 10 years.
