  1. I'd say the exact situation is that we have **** all money.
  2. Nope, it will all be fine because @HoneyBadger and his young starlets will sail to the rescue. We've got all the answers in the academy, it's just that none of the previous managers have realised it. This will force martis hand and everything will be fine. Probably better than before. Apparently. 🙄
  3. Oh absolutely. But honey badger also can't say we never let him break through. We wanted him to be a CB and he didn't want to be. He would also have needed to oust chilwell from the team in order to break through in what was his "preferred" position.
  4. Sure.... And I promise I'm not "defending" vestergaard and claiming he was Bobby Moore or something....BUT..... BOTH players turned professional in 2010.... In that time one has played 285 top flight games and the other has played 31..... 26 of which came in a single season. So I agree... Ward was never a "PL Level player". Vestegaard was. You don't play 285 games at that level if you don't belong there. You just don't. It doesn't mean he still belongs at that level. It doesn't necessarily mean he should be starting for us either in the championship. I'm just defending his career.
  5. I don't really like him that much to be honest.... I just don't think you can disregard his career and say he's championship level at best.
  6. Again...you are conflating your views with reality. Jannick may well have weaknesses. BUT he has played over 250 games at the very highest level in the bundesliga and the premier league. He has 55 caps for Denmark. To claim he is "only ever going to be" a championship player is wholly and factually inaccurate. For sure, he's on the slide and Nelson may prove to be a better player.... IF Nelson ends up with 50 international caps and 250 Premier League appearances, he will consider himself to have had a VERY successful footballing career. Remove the rose tinted glasses a little. I fully accept your point, we need to develop and blood the talent coming through. We need to stretch them and give them time to grow. But don't do that AND in the same breath dismiss the careers of the players who have "made it".
  7. Yes...but by your logic, bassey is a player who couldn't break through at a Premier League club, had to take a step down to get game time and then progressed from there.
  8. Up until last night, I was of the opinion that itauma was a real prospect, but hadn't REALLY had a test at a sensible level. He was blowing people away, but none of them were elite level, so I was sceptical. Clearly, his chin still hasn't been tested so we dont really know about his resilience or endurance.... BUT..... Whyte SHOULD have been a stiff test for him. He's basically spent the last decade in the top ten. He's fought a strong calibre of opponents and is an experienced and durable heavyweight I thought it would be a step too far and might take him into deep waters. I was astounded at how easy that was for Moses. Who do you match him up with next? It can only be a top ten contender. That's staggering progress.
  9. You've clearly got some involvement or a vested interest in someone in the academy. I also admire your passion for bringing youth through. But you are misplaced to think that every player on the cusp of the first team from the academy, is a better direct replacement than the incumbent. If they were THAT much better, we wouldn't have lost to a league 1 side in the cup. Most of the players you are talking about are full internationals with premier league experience. Also, every single one of those players, was an academy prospect that managed to break through..... There is no guarantee your starlets are an improvement.
  10. Vestergaard was like a rolls Royce in this league two years ago.
  11. Submitting "Bonnie Blue" Into evidence......

    Pillows

I much prefer a firm pillow... can't settle at all with anything that is feather or even the standard pillows. I've not got some tempur memory foam ones.... they come in different levels of firmness, but i've found the ones which work for me and they are perfect.
  13. Sure, but you also end up with new habitat in and around that reservoir. Much more so than building pipelines, which will also come with habitat damage, legal challenges etc. The UK needs to get over it's NIMBYISM and crack on with infrastructure projects that benefit the nation. One of the core reasons for our decline as a nation is that our infrastructure is crumbling and no one wants to accept anything that may have a perceived impact on them. Perfect example.... I live on a new build estate that's been completed in the last 3 years. At the time of our purchase, there was outline planning for another 100 houses in the edge of our estate (came up in all our searches) Roll forward three years and a developer wants to now build those 100 houses.... Guess what.... People on the estate are up in arms about it. As a nation, we need to get out of our own way.
  14. Or maybe we just build a load more reservoirs.... A bit like we should have been over the last 30 years. There is plenty of water and rainfall in the UK, we just don't store it well.
  15. Well he HAS at least got a returns agreement in place. Brexit was a disaster in many ways, but the main issue being that we lost our right of return. I'd say that was a positive. Fixing a country in a year is impossible. It's probably impossible in 5. It's doubly hard when anyone at all that is negatively impacted by change wails like there legs are being cut off. Personally, whilst not even close to perfect (which governments are!!?! ) I think labour are at least trying to fix some of the major issues in the country. Societies need to have instant gratification doesn't meld well with how long it takes to turn around a country.
  16. You can go if you want mate..it's fine.
  17. Well at least there is the potential for Alves or Monga getting more game time as a 10.

    Dogs

it's funny you say that... but it's unrelated.... so this photo of the puppy is from the Breeders house... but how we got here is this...... I was point blank refusing to get a dog.... definitely didn't want one... as a compromise, she signed up to "borrow my dog"... so we look after someone's dog during the day as we work from home and it's a settled environment.... THEN she's snuck this puppy in... so within the space of 6 weeks it's gone from "definitely not getting a dog" to having a puppy AND someone else's bloody dog!
  19. I don't think we can really accuse this squad and club of not letting the young lads break through. Yesterday: - Stolarchyk Thomas Monga Mcateer All home grown and all got game time. Choudhary Nelson Page on the bench. 35% of our playing squad yesterday were academy products. That's exceptionally high.
  20. exactly. I'll admit... I don't know enough about who could replace him.... but i'm not convinced a long list would be available to us!
  21. depends...... what's the value to us as a club to get promoted this year? more than £7-£10m? - if so.... you'd keep....
  22. I appreciate that sell is the general consensus.... but imagine a future where we sell Winks... DON'T sign a replacement... and Soumare and Skipp are our starting midfielders for the season....

    Dogs

Ladies and Gents..... Meet Murphy.... I've finally relented and lets the Wife and Kids get a dog.... I suspect i'm in for a hell of a ride.
  24. there's a couple of things I noticed about Winks Yesterday..... firstly... (and this is obvious) he is ALWAYS available for the ball. Always in position and generally on the move in some way. That's critical for the way that we want to play, as he is difficult to pick up in that regard... just a 5 yard shuffle away from his man, means he has time to receive the ball and he is very good at protecting it when he has it. Secondly, he varies the speed at which he makes his pass. sometimes, we waits to draw the man on to him and at other times, it's a really sharp pass forward, changing the tempo of our play. That's a really clever skill, as it means the opposition can't get settled to our tempo. it's that, which means we create openings and catch players out of position. I don't see that variation with Skipp or Soumare... it's quite ploddy play. Ricardo does it a little... but we can't rely on his fitness. In terms of his PL suitability for Leicester. Last season was unfair to judge him on. He excelled in the Enzo system, it's what we bought him for... then he ended up with both Cooper and RVN that looked to use him differently. He isn't as capable in being the midfielder they wanted him to be. I rate Wink's ability. I'd be sad to see him leave.
  25. And that's ok. That's your opinion. I'm not going to change such strongly held beliefs. Nelson looks the real deal for sure. The rest are relatively untested. My personal opinion is that Evans won't make it at the highest level based on what I've seen. Alves will probably carve out a decent championship career. Aluko and Page... No idea, we haven't seen enough.
