Liverpool H 0-1 Post Match Thread. We are relegated.
Leicesterpool replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
Well our big return to the Premier League was short and sweet. Half of me wishes we never got promoted last season, to experience a doss of a season like this. Today strangely was improved performance and maybe even deserved a point. -
League title celebrations at the Boro v Smethwick Rangers clash, perfect match for the occasion. Boro were 0-2 down at half time, came back to win 3-2 with the winner in the 96th minute! 717 in attendance... meh... even though that's amazing for this level but thought many more would have attended. I guess the last two performances impacted on the attendance, more attended the previous fixture against Leicester St Andrews. Still one game to go in the midland floodlight league cup final.

League One & Two - 2024/25 season
Leicesterpool replied to moore_94's topic in General Football and Sport
I quite admire how Burton have grew as a club, for many years Burton were just a very low non league club, who were either in the southern league premier or southern league midland. Cloughee junior went in there and built them and got them into the football league. Once in the football league club remained quite stable in the football league, got themselves to the championship as mentioned without spending vast sums of money. The new stadium they built in 2005 certainly helped develop the club. Recruited well in terms of players and managers, whenever they sell one of their top players they do seem to invest the money well and know how to replace them. -
League One & Two - 2024/25 season

Hope the Brewers can say up, unbelievable run they have been on, looked dead and buried back in January. However managed to climb out the bottom four. League One is proving to be very tight this season, Birmingham wrapped up title but the battle for second is still very much on. Between Wrexham and Wycombe for the automatic place. Then we have got the battle for the final play off spot, Reading, Leyton Orient, Bolton, Huddersfield and maybe even Blackpool fighting for that place. Blackpool must win today plus the extra game they have against Birmingham to stand any hope. I have got tickets for the Blackpool v Bristol Rovers game on the last game, I'm hoping there's still something to play for both. Bottom end is super tight, between 17th place Wigan Athletic and Bristol Rovers in 21st place could still go down. -
Boro v Smethwick Rangers tomorrow down at the oval, last league game of the season. Trophy presentation day, so likely a huge crowd tomorrow, probably 1k plus under 16s can attend for free. Huge attendance at Newquay last night in step 6 1,800 attended.

Lionesses v Jamaica - KP Stadium - Sunday 29 June
Leicesterpool replied to davieG's topic in General Football and Sport
Nice little honour, I'm surprised we are hosting a lioness fixture so soon. However we will take it! not like we have the England mens play here often. Day after my birthday as well. -
English players just can't take penalties
-
5-1 Real Madrid, It'll get to 3-0! Arsenal will grab one back... celebrate like they won the whole tournament and still go on to lose 5-1!
-
I think the Arsenal fans may start to turn on Arteta if they bottle tonight. Healthy 3-0 lead and scupper it no matter who you play wont go down well.
-
I like to see English clubs do well in Europe.. except Arsenal. Press weren't half bragging they beat Real 3-0, the sun aka Arsenal fanzine had page after page. If they got battered 5-1 tonight you would find it hidden away in the newspapers.
-
Are Arsenal going to bottle it tonight? Something about seeing Arteta peed is defo worth a watch.
-
Amazing expert analysis from Rooney, can certainly see how he was success at Birmingham and Plymouth 🙄
-
Uefa rules kick in... eight subs used.. but only 3 minutes added? Makes you think if it was the English club that were hanging on, would they add more time on? Villa played well and maybe deserved to least take it extra time. PSG similar to the Anfield performance, were lucky to get through I think.
-
I wonder what the odds are on Villa winning 2-0 tonight and Emi Martinez does it again on penalties against the French. Beaten France in the world cup on pens, last season knocked Lille out on pens in the conference league... set to knock PSG out on pens?

I was watching a very old clip from 1970s and it was like news insert about Shrewsbury Town. They were playing in the third tier at the time which is league one. On turnstile admissions it said... adults 80p! So tried to work out inflation so thats about £8 today. So imagine paying £8 to watch a league one game. To do at £8 you cant watch a southern league game for that. Shows hows football has gone from being world class sport.
-
Imagine Tottenham finishing 17th with a goal difference of 10+. Certainly can score but clearly cant defend. They have certainly got away with it this season.
-
Agreed i actually think we may perform better with pressure off. Plus puts some players in the shop window if they show off well. If only daka can score a hat trick from somewhere... just so someone will buy him lol.
-
Planning to go that. Went to watch Boro at Saffron Dymano... day out in sun was nice, football not so much, like watching paint dry. The pitch looked dry and needed some rain. Boro looked poor and going through the motions, league won, 100 points. Saffron defended really well and deserved there win, they named a very young team, two 15 year olds i think played. 0-1 loss, no goal in two for boro rare this season. However league winners with 100 points so no complaints. 348 in attendance. Which was around just over 300 from nuneaton. Bigger gate than some southern league clubs.

Say the car is out of service and needs to visit the garage 😉

It could be a random appointment similar to both Raneiri and Puel. Both were named pretty much out of nowhere. Is there any manager out of work yet to be mentioned... most likely could be them.
