  1. It is the opposite, we have failed to sell squad players because of an obsession of seeking maximum value.
  2. The way those deals work is you sell someone of no value to the first team, we would be selling our player of the year. If we sell KDH this summer I think I wont be watching us next season, sick of the club's inability to sell squad players, and just keep pushing out the best players. They are clueless, we should be doing a youth player swap to get round FFP.
  3. It would also only save us 2-4 points, precedent set last season with Everton. If we care about FFP, just sell a youth player to forest for 30m, and buy another back in the other direction on 4-5 year deal, solved.
  4. Indeed, I said the same thing a while back, we were indecisive and stuck in the middle. We either dont comply, abuse the rules, maximise our playing potential, or we comply to the point we never get penalised, instead we gave ourselves a self imposed transfer embargo and didnt meet the target anyway whilst getting relegated in the process.

They would have been a reduced loss instead of turning to profit, (not taking account of wages saved). Reducing a loss is effectively a profit over expectation. The club needs to learn they will need to at times cut losses instead of expecting a profit on every transaction.

We have turned down at least half a dozen offers the players would have took in the last 2-3 years for squad players.
  7. Umm yes, I remember earlier in the season people were saying he is average or whatever, then he wasnt picked for a game and suddenly everyone was taking it back, anyone with a football brain can see if we were to lose him we would have some big problems. Probably easily worth the points of any potential points penalty for the EFL season, remember if is two penalties in one season, the second one is reduced significantly. Probably would be 2-4 points if we fail the EFL season and those points are applied this season on top of the first charge. He doesnt want to leave as well, which makes him more valuable to the club, as those type of players are not common at his age, it seems many want to jump ship asap. When he first started in the EPL before Rodgers collapse, he actually stood out, I predicted he would be a future 50m player his performances were that good, when he dropped off later, it was the case with the entire squad.
  8. It helps implement a ideology, when Pep was first at Man City, they had problems, they opened the cheque book and got him the right players for his system. But I do agree, if you get a manager to fit the squad, someone pragmatic, you can have success without spending big.
  9. Generate a new competition, play friendlies or whatever, moving a league game is the most farcical thing I have heard off. It would potentially make me quit watching league football.
  10. Interesting some think that those running the club is the same people as it was during the better years.
  11. According to our staff page we have the head of fitness still here, and some other back room staff including medical, but in terms of coaches there is none here at the moment, we started with a clean slate with Enzo, and everyone Enzo brought in, he then took them out with him.
  12. The idea is you do it without selling your best players.
  13. Yep, thanks. For the lazy. Team-sequence-1-cooper.webp
  14. My thought was the opposite, those who were backing Rodgers to the end, they then booed Smith's team on the pitch chanting things like "we lost the ball" (which clearly showed they are pro tika taka), and then thought Enzo was a god, and I expect they absolutely hate this appointment. Whats interesting about Cooper, is whilst he is pragmatic, he can have his teams play a degree of possession based football. Which leaves me wondering how we will setup in the first game, We dont have what I think is a winnable home game until September, but Spurs early on they might not be at their best.
  15. Late but posting it anyway. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12691/13155468/steve-cooper-leicester-city-name-former-nottingham-forest-boss-as-new-manager So finally we have a manager. Top mentioned "dynamic style of play", so wonder if Cooper has been talked into what Top wants, or Top has accepted there is more than one way of playing. Excited to see.
  16. That happens so often, its so obvious the draw isnt random. Also close to Man City game, hmm thats never happened before has it.
  17. His Mother is. https://corporate.kingpower.com/en/executives/ Top is CEO and President.
  18. Indeed, I remember most not being happy with Claudio pre season. Hopefully thats a lesson that shows we shouldnt be writing off managers before they get a game.
  19. Feeling positive, hopefully we no longer need a million passes to progress 5m and he can get the best out of our limited squad.
  20. That was already clear start of last season, we employed a manager who had a little bit of managerial experience which was a disaster. We were basically a testing ground for Enzo. Cooper is a reality check, but also maybe finally a sign that signing tika taka managers without the ability to provide tika taka players has finally hit home to Rudkin and Top.
  21. Deffo finishing higher than if we had Enzo for the season. Feel a bit more positive now Cooper seems the favourite, finally a manager not addicted to a million passes to progress 5m up the pitch.
  22. Vocal minority guessing by the style poll.
  23. WBA manager is EPL I suppose despite failing to get a club out of the Championship? The anti cooper on here shows how many football snobs we have, its crazy what Top's tika taka obsession has done to a chunk of our fan base.
  24. So people say we should go for WBA manager because he will be hungry, but dont want Cooper because he is umm hungry. Have I understood that right?
  25. Most of our squad isnt tika taka compatible, its the biggest argument to not go down the same path.
