  1. As is the case for all emergency services, A&E depts, and many others. I don't understand your point here, sorry.
  2. Are you trying to tell us something?
  3. I need to find maple cream liqueur.
  4. So who is eating my mince pie and swigging a shot of single malt?

  6. You're clearly a strong character with a clear understanding of what is best for you. It takes a brave person to accept and tackle issues in their life. It would be so easy to bleat "poor me" and give up any responsibility for one's own life and let someone else carry the can. Those that don't make the most of what is positive when it happens can easily fall back to the negatives.
  7. I'm back. They're all shite.
  8. Right. I'm going to Google Christmas jokes. I'll be right back.
  9. Your last sentence is spot on. Even if it means taking a break of some sort from the pressures of a newish (I assume) family to consider which brings it's own previously unknown demands on time, emotions, thoughts, sleep. I do believe that there's a male equivalent of post-natal depression. I remember when we adopted our 2 how difficult I felt it. Even though we had months to prepare as any parent does. But the sense of my life and routine being lost was difficult to bear. Making time for yourself and finding something that can fulfil your mind and soul is very important as I'm sure you already know. You have clearly recognised the signs and taken action to prevent and avoid the potential effects on you and those close to you which is a positive and shows how far you have come to now be, as you say, in a much better place. Mental ill health is a long term, often life long challenge and recognising that you have made significant steps to manage it gives you the wherewithal to handle it the best you can. Best wishes. Stay strong.
  10. In our area in Hinckley, we're obliged to leave the bins on the threshold of footpath and our drive/path where possible. This is so they don't cause an obstruction on the pavement. None of the houses on the estate we live on have front gates, so it's easy to do. However, when the bins have been emptied they're often strewn across the pavement with utter disregard for pedestrians, I've even had my bin tipped over and left in the road.

  13. Cheese gives me some very odd, bizarre, and interesting dreams but my God do I pay by way of serious reflux.
  14. It's beyond comprehension that this can happen. When I was a teenager there was dislike and rivalry amongst us and against individuals but it probably ended in a bit of a scrap in the park after school. There was never any plan to commit anything serious. I do think social media, and the easy access to violent content within it which IMO, seems to accept and even promote violence within a teenage demographic, has a lot to answer for. The lack of correct parental guidance plays a part as many parents, for an easy life, just let their kids do their own thing rather than take an active interest in what they are doing and being a part of it. Parenting is difficult and fraught with difficult choices and sacrifices that have to be made in order to give a child the best possible chance in their life. So many parents seem to opt out of responsibility in favour of an easier option. Is society broken? Is there an answer? I don't know, but it does seem to be increasingly a generational thing. Which is worrying.
  15. That was last night. Now... It's behind you...
  16. I see where you're coming from but, when a person dies, the blood stops circulating, obviously, and this results in something called hypostasis where the blood will pool and start to coagulate at the lowest parts of the body due to gravity. It is entirely unsuitable for collecting for donation.

  18. At least you can park there for an hour if you spend over Β£5.
  19. Gloves off, gloves on. One is a fight, the other is a sport. Apparently. I think I'd rather pay Β£25 to watch a proper brawl in a ring rather than some handbags and flying slaps and a bit of shoving around. I've been a spectator at street brawls and they really are quite funny to watch. Even more amusing is getting the guy with a bloody nose and a swelling on his lip in the back of the ambulance and he's all agitated, spouting off, "I'd have fvucking had him ya know, fvcking twat, he's gonna get ****ed over when I fvcking get him. Hey, paramedic guy, have you got a fvcking plaster for my cut? Sorry, didn't mean to swear. When I get off this ambo I'm havin' it with the fat twat". "Mate, I'm not gonna die, am I"?
  20. Standard response by TV companies. If they didn't apologise, albeit meaningless, someone would be onto OFCOM.
