Does this image reflect the likely look of Mrs Tom at 55?

I can't agree about the fruit, veg or meat. After several unpleasant encounters when opening a sealed pack of the above, even on the day after purchase, I don't buy fresh stuff from them anymore. And yes, I had checked the use by/BBE date, as well as the contents when I bought them, I always do. It was almost like they were pre-programmed to go off overnight.

We've got a similar issue with EDF. They won't even respond to emails regarding this, just advising I go via their help chatbot bollox which tells me each time that there is a network connection fault. What, for 18mths? I have to send manual readings.

Did anybody else watch Masterchef, The Professionals, this week? The restaurant "Alchemist" that was featured was, and I rarely use this word in full context, AMAZING!

His (and those like him) attitude to driving is something I can't understand but then maybe those of us that have driven as part of our job have a different and accepting view of the modern vehicle and the changes in driving. Driving has been part of my life in many different ways from the normal car, to blue lights and HGV's. As a result, awareness, and, dare I say skill and experience, have always been key to my driving. Which is why so many on the road really get my back up. We all make mistakes and that's expected. But those who get in their car and just go into autopilot and become oblivious to what's happening around them... We've all encountered them and I dare say there's many on this forum that are of that ilk, but who would ever admit to being a bad driver? Not you, not me. It's the other idiot's fault.

It's news Jim, but not as we know it. The most important and newsworthy article is the sex offender on the run and he's in 4th place behind Dunelm in 1st. Just exposes the priorities of the group that LM are part of. -
In subsequent legislation, DRL's now have to include rear lights.
-
You're correct: "DRLs were only a legal requirement to be fitted to vehicles type approved from Feb 2012 onwards. If the car was type approved before this date, then you can just switch them off no problem". In subsequent legislation, DRL's now have to include rear lights. On the subject of vehicle lighting, why is it that I see so many relatively modern vehicles driving in dusk or at night without any lights on. Don't modern cars have auto lighting? Although, this can be disabled whilst leaving dash lights on, so I guess that's why.
-
Or a Cayenne. Surely that's pepper you chuck over your cheese sauce.
-
Yes, as do most modern cars from all manufacturers. They can be disabled and therein lies the problem. Simple minded, elderly or stupid people turn them off for whatever reason, maybe fear of running the battery down. Who knows. Or they think that, because their dashboard lights are lit up, that means their exterior lights must be on. Not necessarily. Maybe there should be a vocal prompt via the "multifunctional interface" that most cars seem to have these days, that verbally advise the driver that: "Your light are on full beam and it's dazzling other drivers, twat". "You have left your hazard lights on, idiot". "Your right indicator has been on for the last 2 miles, are you changing lanes, ever? Dickhead". "It's not foggy, there's no heavy rain and visibility is greater than 200 metres. Turn your rear fog light off. Imbecile". "You're on the motorway, you're travelling at 50mph in lane 2. What the feck is wrong with you"? I'd happily be the voice for that bit of tech. I could even add prompts as I witnessed stupidity whilst driving.

We would like her to accept treatment. We'd pay privately if necessary. She absolutely won't accept any help from "the services". We'd like her to be able to live a relatively normal life, secure and without the fear and demons she suffers with. We'd like to have a reasonable relationship with her. We'd like her to be able to make friendships with others, maybe those who have gone through or are going through similar experiences, some support from peers. She has rejected the few friends she has had as she thinks they are plotting against her. So she is completely alone. She can be extremely hostile to those she thinks have wronged her and has made serious threats to physically attack us if we visit her. Our relationship is in tatters and, although we never give up, she remains full of hatred for us. We would like to be able to know she has the proper support in place and that she responds to it and therefore can live as part of wider society. We'd like her to be stable enough to get some work but that is very unlikely. Basically we just want her to have the best life she can despite all her difficulties and challenges and her own life story. Taken into care at 2yrs old after neglect and abuse by birth parents, broken attachments with her foster carers who had a real bond together. Lots of negativity in her young childhood and her teenage life (2 daughters taken for adoption due to concerns for her to appropriately and safely parent them) which, among other MH issues, we think has resulted in her anger at everyone and her ongoing struggles with her life.
-
It's getting worse. The crisis team seem to have been in touch with her. I am basing this on the tone and content of her continuous VM's where she is literally screaming abuse at us, and texts which are becoming more ridiculous and hostile and constantly mentioning "the services" by which she means Social and mental health who she hates and she now believes we have deliberately involved them to get her sectioned and evicted and have her cat taken off her. She is convinced that we have given random neighbours keys to her flat and they are going in there and damaging her stuff. (We paid to have her locks changed several months ago, we have no idea who the locksmith was as she arranged it all and we have never had keys to give to anyone. Why would we?). The latest VM's over at least 10 days suggest she is now possibly suffering from paranoid schizophrenia as well as the diagnosed ADHD, borderline personality disorder (BPD), anxiety and depression. Unfortunately, she is still deemed to have capacity under the MH act so when she refuses any intervention the MH services are unable to intervene or support her. Every day is a concern for us as to what will happen next. We almost hope that she will descend to the point where she won't be able to refuse treatment, and that means being sectioned... again.

Way better in The Moody Blues than he was in the joke band, Wings.

Good. I have had boiler water pressure problems occasionally and it has always been solved by opening the valves to re-pressurise the thing.
