  1. Excellent reply @Mike Oxlong
  2. You must have been quite prolific.
  3. There's a few of those on here I think you'll find. That's unfair and unkind.
  4. I've told this story before but worth another post in light of this comment: I got called to a report that a train driver had seen a body on the track. Not that unusual as a form of suicide. Expecting the worst my crewmate and I set off to the scene which was on a single track goods line which ran near Braunstone/Hinckley road. We had to walk down a footpath so carried all our kit with us, just in case. When we located the scene we found not a body, but several centrefolds and pages from the Sunday Sport laid out with stones holding down the corners to prevent them flapping in the breeze. No sign of a body or any human debris. We had to conclude that the train driver had seen someone lying by the track having some "personal time" who then, presumably suitably satisfied, left the scene.
  5. I wonder why? The weakest. most tasteless of all beers/lagers. Haven't seen cans of bitter with a "widget" for a long time.
  6. And how often does your Mrs see him?
  7. I've seen a few on high end cars. I guess the electronic key is easy to clone whereas the good old crooklock is a better deterrent.

  10. It can happen if your wanking whilst jogging. Anyway, are you still delivering cars or have you gone back to sales? Just wondering after a post you made a few days ago.
  11. You need to consider the standard of players around him at Villa. He flattered to deceive whilst there. One of those. Too good for Villa but not good enough for MC.

  14. You and me brother!
  15. It's hard to know what the OP means. Is it what it means now or is it, as seems to be reflected in the majority of replies, memories of Leicester gone by? In my memories: Going to Skegness on the train for a day from station on Belgrave road. Midland Red buses (not exclusive to Leicester). Lewis's Christmas display. Fenwick's escalators. Creaky and a little bit disconcerting. Silver arcade and the lifts that you could operate yourself and pretend to a lift attendant. Ainleys Bailey's cabaret where I saw (among others) Slade, The Three Degrees, Mud, Paul Daniels who got me up on stage with him, The Drifters, The Four Tops. If I were to move elsewhere, and felt the pull of my hometown, what would I think of as being essentially Leicester to me: Walkers. Pies and crisps The Golden Mile. Narborough Road, the most multi-cultural street in Britain. Filbert Street. The market as it used to be. Unique and traditional. Ron's barbers. Bruccianni's. Didn't exist outside of Leicester. The miniature railway in Abbey Park. Speedway. Cheese. Pork Pie. Both the actual pie and the library. Foxton Locks. The Newarke museum and by default, Daniel Lambert. Boot and Shoe factories. Granny's nightclub (where I was DJ for a time and met City players who regularly visited).
  16. This is some fecking post. Well done @Stadt
  17. This was iconic and yet passed by without a thought by so many. I went in once to see if the "display" in the window matched the stuff in the shop. It did. Random stuff. Dusty old books and bits of train sets, various bits of Meccano, Airfix models that had been completed, and other random things. As a kid I used to imagine Lenton's was a gateway to a kind of Narnia world.
  18. I find posties to be most likely to say hi than most of the strangers that I meet on the street. Even if they have to shout across the road because I've crossed over to avoid intimidation and potential sexual assault.

  20. Looking at the date of the post, that joke definitely came out of a Christmas cracker.
