Cricket (None Leicestershire County Cricket Club)

England are set in their ways & prefer chasing. I'd be more concerned about playing Wood & Archer on a pitch that cried out for 'pace off'. Poor management & cricket IQ. -

No wriggle room, assuming we lose this. Run rate will come into it. Need to get close to 201. Then need 2 big wins v Oman & Namibia. The bowling options need to change, although we play at Antigua for the last 2 games. Topley should get a go, left arm, offers something different, Curran is the same & can bat too. -

This will depend on how we play Zampa. -
Pretty poor from England so far. Obviously it's a 'pace off' pitch, so why play both Archer & Wood ? They were poor v Scotland too.

I'm liking Rob Green's insight, but he doesn't need anyone with him ! He obviously has an eye on a future career.

There was a push by Watkins before the foul on Konsa, surely.

I just think the Tyson Fury trilogy totally ruined Wilder, especially the 2 defeats, they left him a shell, mentally shot & physically fragile. He should've retired after Fury lll. Only his massive ego & hangers on kept him going. He became a cash cow. Your point is probably very valid too though.

I had France knocking England out in the semis. France to beat Spain in the final.

I don't live in the city, but really like The Blue Boar. I know a few that enjoy The Ale Wagon & The Boar in equal measures.

Champions League Thread 2023/2024
STEVIE B replied to SecretPro's topic in General Football and Sport
I must admit, l rarely take too much notice of the commentary. It's just background noise to me. I'd turn the volume off completely but a bit of crowd atmosphere is always good. -
No way HT would pay that kind of money. They are well organised & have a structure in place. However, they are ambitious but not reckless.

That's so nice. I have no idea of the pain that you're suffering, but small steps is the way forward. This is is definitely one of many. Best wishes.

Surely RVN is a huge risk. I know Enzo was too, but The Prem is a massive step up from managing a club in The Championship with parachute payments On the other hand, l know little about The Eredivisie, but it's probably very difficult not to succeed at a club like PSV. It's probably similar to managing Rangers or Celtic.

Beautiful city. Unfortunately the amphitheatre is gearing up for summer performances, so it's a hive of activity.... banners, advertising & scaffolding. Such a shame as it's an amazing arena.....a mini Colosseum almost. Had a great time here, would definitely return. Venice tomorrow for the last 2 nights of a great trip.

We booked them online months ago, seemed fairly straightforward. Had no issues at all so far. Use the Trenitalia app. The train system is pretty good & the trains are very nice. Had a delay leaving Florence yesterday into Verona, other than that all ok.

Right, next port of call on the Italian adventure is a 3 night stay in Verona. Probably going to see Verona v Inter later, may also hire a Vespa for a day. Anyone been there ? Any tips, trips or recommendations are very welcome.

Just on the train from Rome to Florence. Any advice, nice restaurants, bars (getting bored of Peroni), must see attractions ?

Currently in Naples, Italy. A mad city, a bit edgy, but l love it. A rabbit warren of old cobbled lanes. The car & scooter driver's are bonkers, but it somehow works. Football memorabilia, especially Maradona is everywhere. It's so cheap here too. The whole place gives you a slap in the face, but in a nice way.

Usyk is very good & obviously top dog now, but Fury is overrated in my opinion. He is, or was probably the best of this small era of a not great HW division. He beat an aging Klitschko in a borefest, drew & beat Wilder twice, who was/is a one trick pony. Other than that his record is thin. He's also been generally very inactive for long periods too.

I've been twice. Great venue, your never far from the ring as it's a small, iconic arena. Still get the occasional big names performing there & plenty of upcoming talent. There's also a couple of decent boozers nearby, The Salmon & Ball....a proper east end pub, supposed once owned by Bobby Moore. The Dundee Arms is ok too, it's 2 mins from York Hall. I've spotted boxer's in there post fight having a drink & chatting to people. It's a great day/evening out overall.

It must've hampered his preparation. I also doubt it has healed properly, given the severity & time scale.
-
Definitely. I’m no expert though ! It’s not a late one. The undercard is pretty good too, Briedis v Opetaia (he’s one to watch) will be explosive. Stick the tv on at about 7 (it gets going at about 5), enjoy !

Premier league clubs to vote on scrapping VAR

Most definitely. These type of things are often known eventually, or leaked at some point. -
This is like one of our matchday threads when we're struggling !
