Jesus, what a start from Ferrari that smaller turbo is no joke
-
Expecting some strategy chaos today, hopefully max puts in a good performance, Ferrari better be damn faster after getting up at this time.

I’m just going to be repeating what everyone else said about the state of the game overall, but I have to say, Jordan Ayew needs to be banished from the history of this club the moment he leaves and as a fanbase we need to pretend he never pulled the shirt on. Seeing him come on with little time left and not even break out of a jog is utterly disgraceful. There have been times I’ve defended him especially under Marti where he was clearly instructed to drop deep, but it’s just the complete lack of ****s given from the likes of him and others that hang this club in the balance of having to fight off administration. He might as well have been walking. Put literally anyone on the bench upfront ahead of him. Absolutely sick to death of seeing him jogging and walking everywhere. Disgraceful behaviour from someone earning far more than he deserves.

Well if it wasn't "official" before, it is now. When you get a HITC Sevens video you know you're bang in trouble.

Jesus christ, they are PAYING for this. Is this not the perfect example of why our club is in such a financial mess, we are paying to advertise framed shirts of players who aren't even at the club we sold them to 6 months ago.

If we can continue to play how we did last night for the rest of the season but we still go down due to individual errors, i'd be happy to see Gary stay and rebuild. That said, if we play how we did last night in every game for the rest of the season I think we will be comfortable. Need to continue improving.

Im not sure he's the sort of player that will turn out like a John Stones type of ball playing defender who can drive into midfield, so having Gary Rowett in focusing on a simpler style of defending will suit him massively, I wouldn't be surprised to see become well clear of every defender bar Lascelles come the end of the season, which will no doubt trigger a transfer.

Stoke 2-2 LCFC, post-match thread

Pros: - Should have nicked a winner, but ultimately 2-2 was fair, and most would have taken a draw - Link up play looked better in the second half relative to a lot of the rubbish MC put in front of us - Players for the first time this season actually showed some fight - Winks road to redemption? Showed fight, passion, and celebrated with fans - 2 defensive howlers but as a unit, we looked better structured - Players responded to whatever Rowett said in the 2nd half - Good platform to improve on Cons: - First half was non-league - 2 defensive bozo moments I don't think many would have been expecting a comfortable 3-0 win with a huge bounce. Most teams have a bounce after a poor 3-month spell results in a manager getting sacked, this has been 5 years of building a very weak mentality club. For the first time in a while, that second half showed me sparks of what I absolutely loved about the Pearson/Ranieri team. Good start imo Gary, this club has been a freight train with no brakes for years on the wrong track. -
I was having a good day today then I stubbed my toe and it's all King Powers fault. I'm doubtful it will happen, but I'm just waiting for us to go on an insane run now under GR and for me to be even more pissed off at the incompetent board taking so long to do anything about Marti. We were effectively 10 points off playoffs with half the season to go (including the deduction) and they just had to take the piss allowing MC to stink the place out for 5-10 games too long, then took almost a month to replace him. We went from having a mathematical chance of saving ourselves a LOT of pain by looking UP the table and fighting for the playoffs, to now desperately looking over our shoulders at how low we can go if GR doesn't work a miracle. The board seems to think football waits.

His Derby team were the 3rd best attack in the league, I’m holding onto the delusion that he can get Monga/Fatawu/Mavididi firing again. If Daka scores more than 5 goals for the rest of the season give Rowett a 30 year deal
-
I’ll back him 100% but I’m not fully sold, as an interim it probably works because he’s got a decent record of going in as a firefighter, the question remains whether he can sustain that if he keeps us up comfortably and then gets given a new contract. I feel about this how I felt about our links to Carrick, not blown away but a big improvement. Hopefully Rowett can have the impact Carrick has, may just be a new manager bounce but United are playing some fantastic football in tight spaces and they seem to be very confident under him. Unless United collapse I think the Carrick ship has now sailed and he will go on to either get the job there like Ole or perhaps end up at a mid/lower mid table club in the prem. Maybe this is the long term job Rowett needed to take his management to the next level.

He will want to be here, seems to hold players to account, and drives standards; his teams are often quite aggressive from what I've seen. If he signs the deal i'll be right behind him, I'll be glad to get rid of sideways ball for a start. He's been at quite unstable clubs in the past and often made decent work with what he has had, so hopefully with us having some decent individual quality, if he can find a formula that gels us together, we might pick up the points needed to stay up, from there we can hopefully build. Please, Gary, please don't kill this optimism by immediately picking Luke Thomas and Ayew.

Contact Torquay, sign a deal with them to send them youth players next season (if they get promoted) and bring in Warnock as interim. -

Some sort of "loan" deal with Warnock and Torquay until the end of the season would be absolutely perfect, as part of the deal we can create a partnership to send youth players there for the future. -

We were on a knife-edge this season, and the cost of messing it up was massive. At the start of January we were within touching distance of fluking the playoffs which would have potentially given us just enough to save the club financially, providing if we fluked promotion we then followed a coherent plan to continue to get rid of the 50k+ earners and bring in a summers worth of young talent for the prem, we could then afford relegation and be on a solid financial footing. The flip side to that is where we are now, we stay down, and still struggle with big earners on the books that we cannot afford to mutually cancel deals with, cannot afford to bring in the players we need, and essentially are forced into a 3-4 year rebuild with minimal spending. Or the worst case scenario, we go down with a wimper and potentially go bankrupt. We were 4 points from saving the club, but we persisted with MC and now we are facing ruin. I'd love to see Hassenhuttl come in because he's got a reputation for not taking any nonsense from players and forcing his views, but as every day and each loss passes, I'm beginning to think we need to be in contact with NP and just pray his health can sustain an interim role with a lovely office waiting for him upstairs at the end of the season. -
Gun to head, Marinakis or Top? Ruthlessly aggressive arguably to the detriment of the club, or complete indecisiveness to the detriment of the club.
-
Hopefully people will get this stupid idea of their head now. He is at very best an assistant right now, who knows if he's even that. More than happy to have him as a coach, but right now he's nowhere near enough.

Every passing week we move further away from needing the "right manager" and move into the "we need a firefighter", right now, Warnock on a short loan style deal with Torquay seems sensible. Him and Lascelles need to be commanding that dressing room. I can't imagine a scenario where King went in there and rocketed them. -

Ffs, just contact Torquay and beg them to loan us Warnock for a few months. In the space of a month, we've gone from being 4 points off the playoffs to collapsing into League 1, with some of the most stupid players I've seen wear a football shirt. Bring in Warnock, give Lascelles the captain's armband and let them both sort this mess out before it's too late. -
Can we convince Torquay to loan Warnock to us until the end of the season?
-
I was expecting 6 points after an appeal, we should appeal as I think we can make a clear argument that we have been actively hurting ourselves as a club over the last 4-5 seasons trying to get the wage budget down to comply, we have made the odd blunder along the way with the likes of Winks/Vestergaard, but on the whole we have pretty much destroyed ourselves trying to comply.

Hopefully, Monga stays, but likely won't, will be wasted here. He has had way too much pressure put onto his shoulders, though. People were talking about him being an 80-100m player in the future, talks of Barca and Real Madrid, but he's struggled to have an impact at Leicester City in half of his appearances. Raw talent is there, the ceiling is massive, but the overhype can't be doing him any good if he reads the news/fans' opinions on social media.
