  1. How can a twat like me, laying on the sofa with a chocolate bar know that Ferrari pitting to try to stop an undercut that Mclaren very clearly were not going to try is a bad idea, yet Ferrari with their hundreds of millions of pounds, hundreds of data analyses and millions of data points think it's a good thing to do? Mclaren asked their drivers about 8x if they could manage a 1 stop, publicly broadcasted to millions, and Ferrari took that info and though "Ha! those crafty Mclarens are trying to mind game us!" Wild. How can one team be so bad at decision making. They should have got Horner in when they had a chance.
  2. Can we just adopt a new rule that if your track doesn't provide x number of overtakes on average over a 5 year period you lose your spot? Hungaroring is such a bad track for overtakes. 21 overtakes average since 2017, what's the point? We aren't going back to small nimble cars (2026 rules are an improvement but are still massive), so many tracks have way too many medium speed tight sections that you can't overtake on. So many better tracks that provide better racing like Istanbul, Sepang, India that can't get a sniff. F1 needs fundamental reform to both cars and track choices.
  3. False start for Bortoleto, unlucky he's been driving well recently Edit: No further investigation
  4. Lando just cannot start races well can he..
  5. Jakub was ideally a ready made replacement under Ruud/Cooper, is he a ready made replacement under Marti-ball? his distribution and passing under pressure is his biggest weakness. Honestly, I'd love Jakub to prove me wrong as I think he's prem potential in most systems, but he's yet to show he is good enough on the ball so can only hope he improves. Jakub has a pass accuracy of 51%, long ball accuracy of 30%. As much as I want us to stand with Wednesday and the thought of them being asset stripped in their current situation is awful, Pierce Charles is far better on the ball and imo is going to be a top 6 goalkeeper for years to come when he escapes Wednesday. Would be cheap given their situation, Pass accuracy of 76%, 52% long ball accuracy, Goals prevented 2.4 (Jakub -0.62 albeit at a higher level) Pierce charles is the real deal. I hope Jakub can be too. https://www.fotmob.com/en-GB/players/1096327/jakub-stolarczyk https://www.fotmob.com/en-GB/players/1420144/pierce-charles
  6. £25-30m and sadly we have to cash in, he started the season as one of the best keepers in Europe, his form absolutely collapsed when he came back from injury (In his defence he was playing at such a level the fall was always going to look dramatic), still played a huge role and was one of the few players that can walk away with his head held high. Best of luck to him, he played a huge role in us going up, and now he's repaying our faith potentially in a deal that might help to get us out of a PSR hole. Absolutely massive potential on this lad, he could have been the new Kasper if we had stayed up.
  7. Jesus, I got hammered from all directions for suggesting Bednarek would bring in a half decent fee. I'd snap your arm off for a 6.5m bid for Faes or Vestergaard.
  8. Well, IF we are going to dominate a game and then score a comedy own goal to lose 1-0 in the 90th, I'd rather it be Wednesday than anyone else!, if we play Wout Faes and Vestergaard you might just be in luck
  9. I completely see that side of the argument, bleed him out. Then again, he's losing money isn't he? I wonder whether administration is what he's aiming for at this rate. Seems to me Chansiri doesn't actually care and a lot of his behaviour seemed to be out of spite of something. Crazy to think some fans even bought into his "10 year season ticket" scheme. I've heard so many stories over the last few years about the state of the club and it's been awful to watch, I have a long suffering owl mate and he's how you've described, just zero energy or hope for the direction of the club. I wonder what will happen to the thousands that will lose their seat?
  10. Local Sheffield MP's have written to Chansiri asking to meet him to discuss the situation, Clive Betts confirms he replied to them "what has it got to do with you?"
  11. You're in such a mess at the moment, and it's not the fault of the players, the fans or the staff, it's entirely on Chansiri. You're stuck in a difficult position as fans because turning up to the games ultimately helps Chansiri with more match day revenue, but if fans feel like they don't want to turn up in protest, that can only harm the staff and players. I'm really not sure in this situation what I'd want to do, but I think I'd probably say Wednesday fans need to do their best to get to matches, at the end of the day if you're there you can make it absolutely clear who you support and who you don't and you are the lifeline of the club at this point, the fans, staff and remaining players are the only things holding the club together to face whatever is coming. Really hope you see this through quickly, there is a possibility that if you can get a sale through quickly, you can still save the club.
  12. Not sure if anyone else posted it, but Sheffield Council have now officially condemned the North Stand at Wednesday as unfit for fans to use. 9,000 fans, thousands of them season ticket holders are screwed. Sheffield Wednesday: Hillsborough's North Stand closed by council - BBC Sport
  13. 1-0 Loss, Chansiri with a last minute winner for Wednesday.
  14. Football need to get right behind Wednesday and clubs that end up in these situations. Chansiri has completely destroyed the club from inside out. The EFL need to step in NOW and take over.
  15. Rohl gone. Think we have missed out big time on this one. Reasonably happy with Marti and hope he can take us to the next level, but I think Rohl's ceiling is far higher. I don't think there is any way we could have left it this late to bring him in sadly. Hopefully Rohl doesn't rush into a job and if for some reason we don't hit the ground running under Marti he will be available.
  16. It's hard to tell really, at the end of the day we will only know if we put too much pressure on him in hindsight some time in the future, plenty of players that were playing at or above Mongas level have openly spoken about how pressure got to them, or some other players couldn't handle so much so soon and let their ego take over. We won't know how Monga reacts because we know nothing about him outside of his pitch performances, I just hope the fans sit on the side of caution, because as you mentioned the fan base is over hyped at the moment. He's got huge potential but christ, people talking about Barcelona, Real Madrid, Ballon D'or, £100m sales. It's wild.
  17. I don't think so. They told oscar on multiple occasions his tyres needed managing, he only held out because Lando made multiple mistakes and cost himself challenging, without the mistakes he would have caught him with 2 laps to go. Lando managed to make up effectively 3-4 seconds on the hard strategy, more if he had not made those errors.
  18. Pretty boring race, but what a performance from Oscar and great strategy call from Lewis/Ferrari
  19. The mediums held out but Lando cost himself more than 3s from mistakes. I think he'd have got him without the errors.
  20. Oscar is really developing quickly. Fantastic driver and could get even better.
  21. Yeah that's a fair observation. Just seems like whenever there is a strategy gamble it seems to negatively affect Oscar despite doing the right thing.
  22. But are they 20s slower over 35 laps or whatever was left? So I wonder if Mclaren were planning on putting Lando onto mediums and Oscar onto hards originally? Sas pretty obvious they wouldn't be able to double stack the cars given the rolling start and slow conditions, must be frustrating for Oscar, once again he creates himself an advantage but then has a portion of that offset by strategy.
  23. But why would Oscar be put onto mediums if they were planning on going until the end? Landos engineer told him Oscar was going to the end within 1.5 laps of him pitting. So why have Mclaren taken such a pointless gamble? Either they decided to go to the end within 2 laps of pitting Oscar, or they planned it before hand and decided to gamble? Oscar did a great job getting to the lead and potentially could be undone by being on the wrong tyre, unless Lando makes mistakes.
