Should I open the Society doors again?

It's very early days, but our complete lack of synergy is concerning; having a new manager and a new system is not an excuse for failing to do the basics. We need names out of the door and fresh faces in. Lethargic performance all round. Very concerned by Marti picking Soumare and Winks as a pair again.

I thought the reaction was completely warranted, we can all hate Faes as a footballer, and you can question his attitude, but booing him as he came on doesn't help the atmosphere, doesn't help the team, doesn't help the player. So his reaction to scoring was fair game in my opinion. Fans need to be able to take it when giving it, Faes gave us 3 points yesterday. However, for the rest of the season it was a really stupid reaction, I would imagine that Marti might second guess bringing him on if it's going to make the place that toxic. I can only hope now that Faes looks at that reaction from the fans and forces his way out.

I wish someone would sneak into Top's office and place a live counter on his desk that shows him second by second the amount of money we are paying players like BCDR who aren't anywhere to be seen. I want him to sweat every second of the day watching that counter tick up and up seeing how much money he is wasting by allowing the club to deviate from the blueprint that delivered us a decade of growth and success.

Really proud of both sets of fans today. Wednesday have been my "2nd club" for about 15 years since meeting my owls mate and their fans have always been top class. I was also really proud to be a Leicester fan today, I was really hoping our fans would get behind them and it surprised my how much solidarity our fans gave. I saw Wednesday fans outside the ground waiting and Leicester fans were applauding them as they walked past, and the ovation when they entered the ground was heart-warming to see. This great club is being decimated by a scumbag owner and the fate of the club rests in the coming weeks. Had a look on Owlstalk that I've been lurking on for a long time, and it was really nice to see so many of their fans acknowledging the solidarity we showed, ultimately we all love our clubs and love this sport and match day rivalries sometimes need to be put aside. Vestergaard was also calling multiple players to do the walk around the pitch clapping the fans and they made the point to also stop at the Wednesday end, clap their fans and shake hands with the Wednesday players at the away end which was really classy from the players involved and seemingly Vestergaard who was the one who looked to be "organising" it? He posted it during the match if I remember rightly, AFAIK he was told he wouldn’t be included in the match day squad so decided to go for a beer garden day rather than be at the ground with his teammates regardless of whether he was playing, it’s club protocol to be at the game. edit: photo was posted before the game.

As much as it pains me to say it, Winks has to start.

Not a great performance in general. Winks absolutely changed the game and was MOTM, but make no mistake, this is a weak Sheffield Wednesday side who had 3 injuries, no pre season, a chaotic environment and a red card. We dominated the game because Wednesday sat back, we were poor whenever they pressed so we have a long way to go. Good start and 3 points is 3 points. If we get a 25m bid for Bilal I’d take it. He was nullified really easily with a compact midfield, would rather take that money and go out and buy a decent CM to partner Winks, a striker and then buy Pierce Charles.

You don’t need to forgive someone to not abuse them as they come onto the pitch.

Fans booed him onto the pitch. They FULLY deserve that celebration.

If teams sit back Bilal won’t get a sniff this season, would be nice to keep him but £25m and we have to say goodbye. Overrated by us, good ceiling but nowhere near the ceiling Leicester fans think he has.

Wednesday have actually kept on to more players than I thought they had, their team can cause problems if we start slowly. Expecting a comfortable result for the most part but they can't be written off for a snatch and grab if we don't have our shooting boots on.

That also wouldn't surprise me at all, it's just a gut feeling anyway nothing tangible to base it on other than Marti managing to take those "moments" he has and make them more consistent

The club over the course of the season showing us they have turned a corner and gone back to the old blueprint, no more stupid contracts, communication with fans, rebuilding the foundation on and off the pitch. Meh, maybe Bilal unless we get a £25m bid. Will Martí Cifuentes still be the manager this time next year? Yes.

Gut feeling is he plays 35+ this season and does well. From what I've seen so far in pre season I am putting trust in Marti that he knows what he's doing, if Soumare plays then it's because he deserves it. I just hope he's not another manager that picks favourites and sticks with them regardless.

If you're at the game today please support the Wednesday fans. Applaud them taking their seats, sing with them, use this as an opportunity to show our own board we are more than capable of rallying together if they continue to mess around with our club, but most importantly show some unity to Wednesday. Historic club with a decent fanbase being ripped apart in the name of egotism and greed.

Don't want Soumare starting, but he's miles above this league even with his lazy attitude, Wednesday are going to sit in a deep block so the midfielders are going to spend most of the game trying to find creative openings, Soumare is better at that than Skipp or Winks.

If Marti carries on like this I might have to propose to him.

I really like Japhet Tanganga in defence, can play RB or CB, wanted us to sign him a couple of seasons ago as he would be probably £5-6m but we have too much depth there now and he would want to be starting every week. If we sold Vestergaard + Faes i'd take him, not sure if he's prem quality but his move to Millwall really took his play to the next level and he is still improving for them. Really wouldn't be surprised to see him move to another championship top 6 team if Millwall fail this season.
