  1. An interesting player that might be decent on loan is Fisnik Asllani Fisnik Asllani — 22, Hoffenheim (Stats Fisnik Asllani - stats, career and market value) Strengths: Scored 19 goals and made 8 assists last season at Elversberg (in Bundesliga 2). 22 years old and can use both feet well. Plays aggressively up front and isn’t afraid to defend or get physical. Good defensive work: made 30 blocks, recovered the ball 73 times, and won possession in the final 3rd 23 times last season. Prefers to play on the last defender or arrive late in the box to score. Weaknesses: Not great at dribbling; often loses the ball when he holds it too long. More of a direct, physical striker (“crash and bash”) rather than a fancy dribbler. Good defensive work but hard to analyse whether that would work in a high pressing team that Rohl may want to develop.
  2. I don't know the source he's referring to, but I did see on a Wednesday podcast earlier today that Rohl did not return to the clubs first day back which was on Thursday. I think it was within the first 10 minutes or so? don't have a timestamp but it was one of the first things mentioned when the topic of Rohl comes up. Also if people are interested in other teams, this is a decent podcast that I've been watching for a while now.
  3. We've said this for 18 managers but I still believe, ****ing Daka man
  4. Have you got space for 1 more?
  5. Sounds like a contingency plan if Andrews doesn't work out early on. Can't see him becoming a #2 again, I think Brentford are well run to the point even if Andrews plans don't immediately click they will likely still be picking up enough results to be comfortable, so can't see him being sacked quickly
  6. Ironically I sound like I'm from Sheffield when I try to pronounce his name properly
  7. I mean, Ralf built the Red Bull network from the ground up, he has directly mentored/coached Julian Nagelsmann, Marco Rose, Ralph Hassenhuttl, Domenico Tedesco and others, he has been publicly praised as being one of the most influential people on the transition of German football, and has directly influenced the style of play adopted by Thomas Tuchel, Jurgen Klopp. Pep Guardiola has on multiple occasions publicly praised Rangnicks influence on football, Dietrich Mateschitz who brought Ralf into the RB network said he didn't just bring them success, he brought them an entire identity, and they still follow it to this day. Some of the best players in the world have come through the network that was defined by Rangnick like Haaland, Upamecano, Musiala, Laimer, Sadio Mane. I know RR gets a hard time because of his stint at United, but he's one of the most influential football minds in modern history. In fact, if King Power had any sense we would be paying him in an advisory role or to be DOF. Even if he cost 10m a year he's worth every penny.
  8. I'm emigrating, you'll never see me again
  9. There are definitely question marks, I've said on this thread that Rohls behaviour in the last couple of months has been unacceptable, and does offer concern given how poorly we are run at times, so whether he would get lied to and then fed up and start acting the same way here is a gamble for sure, Wednesday have been awful since mid January, but given what has come out since January where Chansiri was telling fans if they wanted him to sell, he would, telling fans he's not going to repay the loans and the fans need to crowdfund the money and take responsibility if they want him out so much, his admission at the end of the January window that he had not even spoken to DR about signings, then the failure to make wage payments, the year on year delayed tax payments and threat of sanction etc, I think there is a fair case to understand why the form has collapsed, but that is just correlation at this point. It could just be that Rohl was getting it wrong, but we will have to wait and see. His behaviour recently did concern me for sure, I can see a scenario where he is being lied to by us and he ends up on another escape mission, but I'd like to think the first period of his stint gives him some credit in the bank, as we are nowhere near the circus that SWFC are.
  10. Yep, best mate is a lifelong owl, so we have almost adopted eachothers teams as our "2nd team" and this is why I've been completely insufferable for about 4 months on here and why I think he's one of the most exciting young managers in Europe. He's very much in the school of heavy metal German style football, you can see from his Wednesday team that he is atleast attempting to bring some of the Red Bull philosophy to them that he learned under Ralf Rangnick, Hansi Flick, and Hassenhuttl, albeit with poorer players. The strongest players in our team would benefit from that system.
  11. Little bit deeper on the comment I made earlier, one of the big selling points for Rohl imo is the fact that his style of play does require certain types of players, and generally speaking when you look at the players we have, the players the fans most want out of the club don't suit his style, and the players that we all want to stay are the ones that would most Benefit from Rohl's philosophy. Players that fit Rohl's philosophy: - Pereira, Technically skilled on the ball, adept in attack and defence but is a natural player for the Inverted full back Role that DR likes to often use. - Fatawu, unpredictable fast attacking winger, perfectly fits the Gassama role and can wide press and counter attack - Mavididi, Rohl wingers are drilled in taking on their man and pressing, Mavididi is at his best when taking players on but has been getting that coached out of him since arriving, Rohl would reverse that trend. - Bilal, Progressive passing and can adapt positionally which is ideal in a three man midfield or transitioning onto the wing, would play the role Josh Windass played as a central goal creator/support striker - Monga, was a very strong pressing player for us and is not afraid to take players on (would need to track back a lot) - Nelson, He's a very composed defender on the ball and he's mobile - Okoli, Also mobile and athletic which Rohl demands from his defenders. - Vestergaard (let's face it, we aren't getting rid of him just yet) offers progressive passing which would suit him but would be required to play alongside a faster CB - Winks (Also likely to move him on due to wage constraints) Rohl would very likely deploy Winks as a Barry Bannan style player, Bannan has been pivotal for Wednesday for years but under Rohl he improved his all-round game massively, tempo controller.
  12. He's really pragmatic, but having been moulded in the RB system he typically opts for hard pressing, crash and bash style football, but he really seems to cater the system to the opponent rather than having a rigid philosphy. I think the main benefit of Rohl is that his football will compliment the strengths of the team far more than other candidates we are linked with, players like Mavididi and Fatawu perfectly fit the role he gave to Gassama (who I wouldn't mind signing if one of those get sold) and players like Monga will be set free by him, I even think with Daka's pace, if we can just get balls into the box for him to finish like he was doing at Salzburg it might actually help him also. He gave something like 8 debuts in the cup/league last season to youth players so he's not afraid to give the young players a try. Fans would be happy to know that he has also played inverted full backs in the midfield when needed, using Pol Valentin and Marvin Johnson tucked inside in midfield, so if Ricardo stays it's perfect for him, he does like his keepers to play with their feet a lot though so question marks over if Stol can step up.
  13. Agreed. That joke’s been Rohled out more times than our defence under Ruud.
  14. You'd hope so at least in solidarity. I'd imagine he's one of the few who did get paid to stop him walking for free
  15. Yep those who haven't been paid can hand their notice in and AFAIK even if they got paid tomorrow once the notice is placed only the player can reverse it. We don't have any names but *some* players were paid last week for May, can only assume it's key players being paid so they can't walk, which is a pretty scummy move from Chansiri in itself, I'd imagine many players there want to escape.
  16. Wednesdays best hope at this rate is an EFL forced sale. Issues regarding stadium ownership though as Chansiri sold it to himself.
  17. There is a staff walkout planned for today too.
  18. George looks very fast
  19. If King Power made race starts....
  20. To be fair I'd accept a shit sandwich if I was at Wednesday right now
  21. If the ownership does make this move and it happens, tiny bit of credit as I can't see a scenario where they came up with this themselves, which means they are actually listening to fans. Shame about the rest of the shitshow.
  22. This. Every single metric that was relevant had us in the bottom 3, there were 2 things keeping us above the drop zone in the table, 1) Vardy had a great start to the season and was scoring/creating 2) Mads Hermansen had an expected goals prevented of almost 7 and was statistically one of the top 5 keepers in Europe under Cooper, but that was down to Mads. Without MADs/Vardy bailing us out every game we would have been firmly in the drop zone, we were outside of the relegation places despite SC imo, not because of him. Pretty much every week we were setting up to survive to the 75th minute and just pray we were either drawing or not 2 goals down.
  23. I wonder if long term if Top doesn't decide to sell and can still inject cash in when needed, the last few months will finally make him realise he can't just FAFO his way through like he's seemingly been doing for a while. All we can do is hope that if he's staying as owner this saga has been a kick up the backside that was needed to make him wake up and run the business/club properly.
