  1. Another false dawn buying him time.
  2. Oh ffs, Marti just got another 4 weeks.
  3. I've turned us off, the last 8 years of this Pep inspired experiment has drained me, I have lost so much love for football over the last 8 or so years, just cba watching us anymore. Boring, Lethargic, Sideways. I'll just have BTG on in the background instead. This club feels soulless
  4. We are a team with 5-6 top top class individuals at this level, Marti has developed a system that nulified every single one of them whilst managing to exploit our own weaknesses.
  5. At this rate just give it to Mowbray..
  6. The very first comment is something worth noting in the context of FT. The sheer number of people who reject xG and xGD because they clearly don't understand what it represents is astounding. It's one of the most evidenced stats in football when it comes to predicting the direction of the teams position in the league or across 90 minutes of a match. Multiple users on here have been talking about this since the early games when we were sat 3rd/4th, because it was obvious we were not going to hold that position. xG isn't gospel, but ignore it at your peril; football is a statistics game, and very rarely do teams circumvent these metrics across an entire season. A tactical system that produces low xG almost always finishes closer to the bottom than the top. I wanted Marti fully gone by about game 7 when we had just lost 4th place, because it was absolutely obvious he was wedded to this system, and the system doesn't work. The problem is, far too many fans (less so on FT admittedly) are willing to continue a failing experiment on a gut feeling rather than any metric or statistic, and it's the exact reason we went down because of BR. With that said though, we quickly dispatched of Cooper and ended up declining even further, no doubt the board are lining up Russell Martin as we speak.
  7. I think he would improve Okoli massively too.
  8. I think right now we need him, but I do sadly think you're more right than I am, he doesn't deserve this mess. If he came in as DOF that would probably please everyone. It would also be less stressful on his health.
  9. I'd take Hassenhuttl right now or Bo Svensson, both have been part of the Red Bull network, both aim to play a relatively exciting brand of football. Adi Hutter/Marco Rose miles ahead of us now, but i'd be happy if we embarrassed ourselves enquiring anyway. Urs Fischer would be my #1 but never going to happen with the mess we are in.
  10. My main concern is, ideally you want the club to have a blueprint on the type of players to recruit, the type of staff, the succession plan when a manager is removed and who replaces him, a full blueprint of every single department pulling in the same direction, so that even when a manager leaves the next can come in and tweak and continue to improve, Under Pearson and Puel we had that. BR dismantled it and we are now struggling with overpaid dross. Problem is you're right, the whole club needs a refresh and Top has proven he doesn't know how to do it. I don't particularly like the idea of a manager having total control over everything, but right now we need an experienced manager who can come in, identify the issues club wide and start to lay those foundations again. Pearson laid the foundations that gave us a decade of success, those foundations have crumbled because most of the people that came after wanted to go in their own direction and KP rightly or wrongly gave them the power to do so. I would welcome coaches like Carlos Corberan and I was a very staunch advocate of Danny Rohl who don't yet have a track record of being foundation builders, but what I think this club really needs right now is a Pearson/Dyche/Puel type that are not afraid to upset people in order to uproot this club and fix it from the bottom up. I really don't know what the immediate answer is, but I know we are in massive trouble under Marti.
  11. Tell me we would be putting in performances as drab and lifeless as that if Pearson had this team as long as Marti has. Not suggesting he would have us up there, but I would put everything on players like Nelson/Aluko/Page playing good minutes, and players actually fighting for the badge. Christ, give this team to Neil Warnock and we put up better performances. This really hasn't worked for Marti and at this point it feels like it's just a "bad fit" regardless.
  12. Give this squad to Nigel Pearson and tell me we put out a performance like that.
  13. Arise Sir Neil of Warnock
  14. If it gets us another step closer to rolling the dice, yes.
  15. I can see Carlos Corberan being snapped up by Southampton. Will be sickening to watch us dither around again whilst clubs around us show a backbone and we end up going with a begging bowl to RM.
  16. Can we just fast forward to the part where Nigel Pearson feels his health is good enough for him to take over as interim before moving upstairs into the DOF role? All hope for Marti is now gone after this comment about youth players. The only thing stopping him from playing players like Nelson/Aluko/Page more often right now is his own backbone.
  17. This is important, I see so many saying that our team is worse than what Enzo had, of course it is, but Ndidi for example wasn't a natural 8, yet Enzo had him running the channels, more often than not he wasn't given the ball, but it opened up the space for Fatawu and often Vardy. We don't need the players to be the absolute best at making a run, we just need them to run, Marti seemingly doesn't want them doing that near often enough.
  18. Wednesday have been flooded with people putting forward formal offers to purchase, many have proven funds of £50m+, I know that's not a huge amount for what we would be worth, but Wednesday need a monstrous amount of investment, if Top put us up for sale, I am confident people would approach.
  19. They very likely brought him in for a balanced top 6 push and rebuild, dependant on points deductions. So far he's achieving nothing, he's regressing our players, playing a system they can't play, omitting many of the talented young players we should be integrating more often, and refusing to adapt anything, he seems to think substituting a player on with the instructions of doing the same role and position they are replacing is somehow going to shift a game. He's making the problems worse, not better.
  20. We had to roll the dice on Cooper to try to save ourselves, gamble didn’t pay off but it had to be made. But I do wonder in hindsight if we had just kept him would we be in this position now? Gut instinct says no. We would very likely be in this division, but I don’t believe we would be looking over our shoulders at relegation. I even wonder whether if we still had Dean Smith would we now be a team that actually works hard for the badge, probably.
  21. Half a press is worse than no press, needless spaces all over the place where some players push forward and others don’t
  22. Cba to fix the AI typo
  23. Our problems in order of magnitude: - Owner - Board - Players - Manager All 4 are problems, only one can be fixed today. We need as a fanbase to make this completely unbearable for Top to own until he leaves or comes grovelling to fans with a full admission and apology and a proven plan to change. Marti is making us worse. I am confident if this team was given to half of the managers in this league who are not obsessed with 3000% possession we would be in a far stronger place, we are supposed to be getting better each week, we are getting worse. All 4 of the above need fundamental change, just because the owner is top priority, doesn't buy the manager time for awful performances. Give this squad to Nigel Pearson and most of the players would improve.
  24. If his health permits a short term deal to stop this rot and get the players fighting we desperately need him. Wont happen though. He’s too outspoken for the nepo-baby.
  25. As a team we are disfunctional, but make no mistake, most teams in this division would be improved if they signed Winks, JJ, Ricardo, Fatawu, Mavididi, Monga, Vestergaard, Stolarzcyk. Many would argue Faes on his day would improve teams in the bottom half, Okoli also. This team is good enough to not be this bad. Stealing others comments here, but a good manager makes a team better than the sum of it's parts. Marti is making us worse.
