Regarding the EFL “having it in for us” on the points deduction, I keep hearing this from fans right across football suggesting we are going to get smacked with a 12-20 point deduction. I just can’t see it. Firstly, us making the EFL look stupid is irrelevant because they don’t set the deduction, Secondly, I would argue that there is strong evidence that as a club we have been actively trying to comply since about 2021 when we started to curb spending and even lied to managers about budgets, if we were truly ignoring the rules we would have continued spending but we reigned it in. The only argument I can see against us is that we signed players like Winks and Coady, the only defence Leicester would have in this situation imo would be that we expected players sales to go through that collapsed late on leading to us breaching, but if those sales did go through we would have complied. Whether that washes is another story. But even if the EFL did decide the amount of points deduction, there is no precedent for a 15+ point deduction, especially given we’ve got evidence we were selling players, letting players leave on a free instead of renewing and actively trying to sell players like Soumare before inevitably having to loan them out. If the EFL gave us a 15 point deduction, my guess is it would be laughed out of a court room on appeal as being blatantly a revenge punishment and not on merit. My best guess is 9 points, with an appeal that brings it down to 6, if I’m right I think we are in a position to try to challenge top 2.

Just when we think maybe the board are turning a corner by signing Marti and actually having some good PR around it for once, and seemingly looking at players like Kone on cheap fees and selling the likes of Coady, they go and get a god awful sum for a player as talented as Mads, Man City have just spent £30m on James Trafford and we can’t even break £20m on a guy who pre injury was statistically top 5 in all of Europe for expected goals saved. Good luck to Mads, great player with a big future and it helps us with PSR, but this deal absolutely stinks, he’s worth 25-30m of anyone’s money. Hopefully we have a decent sell-on clause added to justify such a poor fee.

As a fanbase I really hope Leicester fans get fully behind Sheffield Wednesday fans for the first game. Loud applause when they take to their seats 5 minutes after the game begins, even joining in with Chansiri out songs. As a football community we need to get right behind them, what that scumbag is doing to that club is beyond acceptable and Wednesday need support from the wider football community. I'm shocked given the Thai connections the club have even allowed it to go ahead, let's not waste the opportunity to show some solidarity, it's also an opportunity to show King Power what fan unity looks like if they carry on messing about with the club.- 855 replies

If only they had been listening to fans for the last 5 years 🤣 completely agree with you, some credit has to go to them if they did indeed go back on the deal because of fan backlash.

Meanwhile in contrast both of the main Rangers forums are approaching meltdown. Early days north of the border but it’s safe to say the start has been massively lacklustre under RM and the fans have taken to it poorly.

Marti-Ball is showing signs of being everything that most of us who hated Enzo-ball wanted it to be. Possession football can be dynamic, it can be aggressive and it can be played quickly.

Yeah they just gave Fred a new contract though, mistake imo as much as I love Fred and think he would do well in another team, what Ferrari need is someone prepared to walk in, kick a table over and tell them to change their ****ing car

With Okoli and Nelson, we could very easily have a partnership capable of playing at a good level in the premier league, I hope Okoli stays, he could be a top top player one day and we could be the perfect place to develop and grow for a massive future move. Nelson for the same reason. Both of them have had a great pre season.

I think we may need to offload atleast 2 fullbacks. Kristiansen, Thomas, Coulibaly, JJ, Ricardo, Hamza and Aluko is way too many especially given most of them are better than this level and will expect a lot of game time. If Kristiansen can't be moved on because of injury and he's going to be back in say 2 months, we may have to offload someone like Thomas and possibly loan out Coulibaly or sell JJ. That would also take us a step closer to keeping Bilal.

Looking really solid so far. -
Great drive from Lando, 39 laps on hards, feel sorry for Oscar who I thought drove a better race but just got unlucky. Ferrari are a clown show once again. Huge for Alonso and Bortoleto!

How can a twat like me, laying on the sofa with a chocolate bar know that Ferrari pitting to try to stop an undercut that Mclaren very clearly were not going to try is a bad idea, yet Ferrari with their hundreds of millions of pounds, hundreds of data analyses and millions of data points think it's a good thing to do? Mclaren asked their drivers about 8x if they could manage a 1 stop, publicly broadcasted to millions, and Ferrari took that info and though "Ha! those crafty Mclarens are trying to mind game us!" Wild. How can one team be so bad at decision making. They should have got Horner in when they had a chance.

Can we just adopt a new rule that if your track doesn't provide x number of overtakes on average over a 5 year period you lose your spot? Hungaroring is such a bad track for overtakes. 21 overtakes average since 2017, what's the point? We aren't going back to small nimble cars (2026 rules are an improvement but are still massive), so many tracks have way too many medium speed tight sections that you can't overtake on. So many better tracks that provide better racing like Istanbul, Sepang, India that can't get a sniff. F1 needs fundamental reform to both cars and track choices.

False start for Bortoleto, unlucky he's been driving well recently Edit: No further investigation

Lando just cannot start races well can he..

Jakub was ideally a ready made replacement under Ruud/Cooper, is he a ready made replacement under Marti-ball? his distribution and passing under pressure is his biggest weakness. Honestly, I'd love Jakub to prove me wrong as I think he's prem potential in most systems, but he's yet to show he is good enough on the ball so can only hope he improves. Jakub has a pass accuracy of 51%, long ball accuracy of 30%. As much as I want us to stand with Wednesday and the thought of them being asset stripped in their current situation is awful, Pierce Charles is far better on the ball and imo is going to be a top 6 goalkeeper for years to come when he escapes Wednesday. Would be cheap given their situation, Pass accuracy of 76%, 52% long ball accuracy, Goals prevented 2.4 (Jakub -0.62 albeit at a higher level) Pierce charles is the real deal. I hope Jakub can be too. https://www.fotmob.com/en-GB/players/1096327/jakub-stolarczyk https://www.fotmob.com/en-GB/players/1420144/pierce-charles

£25-30m and sadly we have to cash in, he started the season as one of the best keepers in Europe, his form absolutely collapsed when he came back from injury (In his defence he was playing at such a level the fall was always going to look dramatic), still played a huge role and was one of the few players that can walk away with his head held high. Best of luck to him, he played a huge role in us going up, and now he's repaying our faith potentially in a deal that might help to get us out of a PSR hole. Absolutely massive potential on this lad, he could have been the new Kasper if we had stayed up.

Jesus, I got hammered from all directions for suggesting Bednarek would bring in a half decent fee. I'd snap your arm off for a 6.5m bid for Faes or Vestergaard.

Well, IF we are going to dominate a game and then score a comedy own goal to lose 1-0 in the 90th, I'd rather it be Wednesday than anyone else!, if we play Wout Faes and Vestergaard you might just be in luck -

I completely see that side of the argument, bleed him out. Then again, he's losing money isn't he? I wonder whether administration is what he's aiming for at this rate. Seems to me Chansiri doesn't actually care and a lot of his behaviour seemed to be out of spite of something. Crazy to think some fans even bought into his "10 year season ticket" scheme. I've heard so many stories over the last few years about the state of the club and it's been awful to watch, I have a long suffering owl mate and he's how you've described, just zero energy or hope for the direction of the club. I wonder what will happen to the thousands that will lose their seat?
