Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

I think he has yeah. It's such a complex issue at Wednesday so it's hard to tell where the loss of support is coming from, because both the performances over the last 3 months and Danny's general attitude to the media questions have changed. I think the fans have lost a bit of support on both fronts really, prior to recently Rohl had almost encased the fans and squad in his own little bubble where they essentially just got behind each other despite the boards antics, now it feels like that bubble isn't there anymore? not sure if that makes any sense or not. The performances collapsing I think is a mixture of having a pretty weak team where they have had a player incoming and outgoing of about 30 players since last summer with a total spend of about £5m, so rough patches can happen, add to that the fact players and staff have no idea if they are even getting paid that week, as well as general fan frustration when the owner is telling the fans they need to fundraise to repay the loans because he's not paying them anymore, promising to sell then not making attempts to get a deal done etc etc, Wednesday have just become really toxic. The part that I'm still confused about, is have the performances dropped because of the toxicity, or have they dropped because of the system Danny has created or the players simply not good enough? The first 15 months of his time there were stellar, an incredible turn around, the last few have been toxic. I still think Danny is a hell of a talent and a fresh environment could bring him back to his best and see him challenge for the prem with us, no doubt about that. -

Quite possibly, and I can fully justify him doing that at Wednesday too, the worrying part is after about 3 weeks I could justify him doing that with us also -

Not sure if the response was related to mine from earlier but just incase wanted to clarify, I don't question his loyalty, and working under Chansiri is a nightmare, I'm just slightly concerned about the nature of some of his interviews where he has come out and said he's made his position clear to the chairman but refuses to say what that position is, but at the same time is giving interviews abroad where he gives the impression he's done at Wednesday. It just feels a little bit "off" with the way he's handled it. I know a lot of sheffield wednesday fans have been quite surprised by his general attitude change in the last few weeks, mainly because Chansiri hasn't changed, it's been a mess since he arrived but towards the end of the season it seems Rohl has become a little bit more relaxed in voicing his opinions. I'm all for calling out Chansiri for sure, I just hope this is out of necessity to escape that club rather than him having a completely different personality to the one who arrived at Wednesday, especially given what a mess our club is. I fully support Rohl on this, but the sudden change in his attitude was quite surprising. -

I'm just desperately hoping that if we do get him this recent behaviour has come from survival instinct with the way Chansiri is running the club because my impression is Wednesday fans are quite shocked by how he's behaved over the last couple of months. -

Is now a bad time to say Rohl has concerned me a bit recently with his behaviour? For context, Wednesday's form has collapsed in the last few months, that happens especially when you're working on a shoestring and players have has periods where they haven't been paid, so I can somewhat accept a bad run of form with the clown show that is Chansiri. However, Rohl is clearly trying to force his way out at the moment, he's given multiple interviews abroad essentially confirming he's off, and actively talking about speculation with bigger clubs. Don't get me wrong, I'd still want Rohl however his recent behaviour has come as a bit of a shock to Wednesday fans, it just depends whether it can be justified, given how Chansiri runs Wednesday and his recent antics, it could be that more has gone on behind the scenes that we don't know about and Rohl is desperately trying to get out for his own career, Chansiri will drag him down if he doesn't get out, but I'm quite surprised/concerned by how he's done it. Is Rohl the absolute best we can do? Right now I'm not too sure. If the ink hasn't touched paper yet i'd still go for Will Still at the eleventh hour, I didn't expect him to drop to the championship so didn't consider him. -

The issue is, it’s all good and well fans singing they don’t want Martin, but then when the club announce Ruud they will hate them too, I think we should split the fanbase up into 32 sections in the away end and each section gets 3 minutes to sing their preferred candidates name, this would be not only fair but would give Rudkin a chance to write down 32 new names that he’s never heard of. -
Whoah whoah steady on, needs 25 passes before we consider that.
-
Yep would take Hassenhuttl right now. Southampton are still trying to recover from him being sacked. The obvious Leicester and United was it? thrashings were embarrassing, but he was keeping them above water make no mistake.

Seriously everyone all of this “Ruud out” joking has gone too far now. Top thinks we are serious and look who he’s lining up. Stop messing around please. -
KPFC please, we will behave we promise, just give RVN a 5 year deal and we will stop causing a fuss we are sorry

The media are so frustrating in times like these. It's impossible to know if all of the big media companies are just bandwagoning on the Football Insider article or if there is multiple sources all saying the same thing. Football Insider have said "sources", the Mail have not said who their source is at all (but the post came after Football Insider), Talksport "understands" based on what? The BBC so far have been the only source with any sort of backbone to actually point out that Football Insider is the source they are basing their article on. It just feels like one blog site posts something, then a couple of media companies jump on the bandwagon to farm clicks, before you know it it's nailed on because all of the "most reputable" media companies are giving it credibility by writing about it despite not knowing if it's actually true or some story that came from Jay Cartwrights contacts at the FA. I understand that media organisations sometimes need to hide sources, but it takes the piss when they constantly spread information based on rumours they haven't verified. Sorry, the thought of these organisations giving this story credibility is scaring me, Rant over

Definitely, his football led to many mistakes, although I believe if Championship strikers were any good we would have conceded many more goals as defensively our record often flattered us I felt, but the stats say different so it's just a matter of opinion. Last season I saw Martins Southampton as a look into the future of what would happen to us if we went up and tried to play Enzoball with these players and without £100m+ spent. Sadly it looks like we are going to be seeing it next season.
-
Winks is fantastic at 5 yard sideways and backwards passes, he's a master at it, but there are many championship level midfielders that could do what he did last season with a similar result, maybe not to his level entirely, but not far off. He was massively overrated for much of last season, on balance If we get to the end of the transfer window and we have signed all of the positions we need to fill and there is a CM position left and it's financially viable, I'd happily put Winks back in. But for the sake of his 90k a week and the fact beyond sideways and backwards passes he's pretty average I'd want to see him moved on, being better than the Champ isn't worth 90k a week, sadly we might be stuck with him for that very reason.
-
I didn't say they would, I said I'm surprised they are not, because Martinball is a massive step in the same direction as Enzoball with very similar patterns of play. I can't see a massive difference between the two, so I'd be interested for someone to properly break down the difference between the two styles. I detest the style anyway, give me heavy metal gegenpressing over that any day.

Would snap your arm off for Claude Puel right now. A man who plays possession football, has a fantastic eye for a player, doesn’t take any nonsense from players and has a clear identity. If we can’t get a new DOF we need a manager/coach who can drive change despite the board incompetence.
-
Me too.
-
Someone throw up a poll Martin vs Ruud
-
I saw it from the BBC personally, I don't read the Mail but it seems like both the BBC and Mail have copied Football Insider since nobody wants to reveal a source, the Mail doesn't even mention having a source. Maybe there is inside info somewhere, are Football Insider legit? the website looks like a glorified blog.
-
I hope so, but this is KPFC so.....
-
I think the short price is because Cisse said Gerrard couldn't attend his anniversary match for "professional reasons" so I assume that's an interview? either that or it's basically a done deal, but bookies suspended betting straight after Cisse said that so the price seems more on speculation than details, would make sense for Rangers to go for him over RM though.
-
It could easily be a storm in a teacup, but the source seems to be Football Insider, and their "source" is..... "sources" So we can only hope it's rubbish.
-
Which is precisely why I said "they are not like for like but Martin has more in common with Enzo than differences" .... Both styles are awful, which is why Chelsea fans are sick of him already. Both Enzo and Russell want to dominate possession for the same reason, to try to convince the opponent to lose shape and press, it's boring, it's sideways, it's negative imo.
-
I’ve never wanted Ruud Van Nistelrooy to be manager more in my life.
-
I can’t really understand this. Russell Martin is the closest manager to Enzo in terms of philosophy and style that we could get. I’d have imagined fans would be happy about this on this forum. This is most definitely a step in the Enzo direction. 🤢
-
I think he will probably get us promoted providing if/when we get a deduction it’s not too big and if we can hold on to half of the squad. But you’re pretty much guaranteed it’s back to square one when we get promoted with a squad that’s been conditioned so heavily to play a single style they are completely unable to change.
