One thing I’m finding particularly difficult is friends who support other clubs texting me and saying “you’ll be back up next season” etc. They just don’t see what we see and it’s really hard to articulate feeling of impending disaster to them.

I was wired and seething all night. It’s our club, these tossers just don’t understand that they can’t just generate more fans (or customers to them). We all started supporting the club because of some ethereal connection that goes beyond business models. They can’t just work on their branding and PR and expect to refill the stadium with new fans. We are the club. I think we’ve been pretty ****ing clear how we feel, yet they’ve time and time again doubled down and done the opposite. They’ve managed to drive the fan base away and actually kill passion and excitement within people. It feels like screaming into a void. We’re all here for a limited time and I don’t want to spend it not supporting the club I love.
