Tbf to Martin, Leeds' 90pts for finishing 3rd and Saints 87pts for finishing 4th are records for their respective positions since the advent of the Championship rebrand in 2004.. I know this year's top 3 amassed a tonne of points but to have that divvied 4 ways like in 23/24 is a real freak.. I don't want him, I think his sides are too fragile, he's too stubborn and they conceded far too many, but I don't think he did an altogether bad job with Saints that season..

The notion that because we've previously been good under King Power's ownership they should be allowed carte blanche to do whatever they please is so unbelievably idiotic from some of our fans.. I can semi-understand the slightly different sentiment that some fans would like the current lot to be the ones to turn it round due to their attachment to Top, even though I disagree with it and can't see it happening.. But I cannot get my head around the viewpoint that club custodians are fine to do whatever they want, especially when you can see what's unfolding right in front of us.. Most could forgive the odd bad move if it seemed there was genuine desire to reflect and change.. At the moment we seem stuck in a perpetual cycle of terrible decision making that's actively harming the club and no one at the head of it seems remotely bothered about picking the bones out of it..

Not quite what the thread is hypothesising, but I think one of the biggest sliding doors moments we ever had was Fofana's injury in summer 2021.. He was all set up to have a huge season for us.. Wound up buying Vestergaard in a panic..
