Braybrooke and opoku starting for Newport at home to Barnet. I’ve got a feeling Fuchs gets his first win today
-
Lots of moaning and I know that after last week it’s hard to back a team, but short of hooking Thomas… this is still our best team

I’d actually happily take Rowett over Marti. Oxford condemning themselves for relegation. He’s the type of character the club needs right now

I have a very strong feeling that Marti has told them to just go and do their thing. And as you’ve pointed out, both probably benefitted from someone like Enzo having specific instructions.
-
I’d start him over ayew next game. Because why not
-
Correct me if I’m wrong but is that his first professional goal? What a way to score your first.

He’s off messing around playing polo. Doubt he even knows how the games gone yet
-
Worst managed player the club have had in decades.

When the penny drops that promotion isn’t possible, and the very few that are left trying lose motivation and stop, then we will tumble towards relegation. This is going to get messy
-
Awful keeping

Very clear who is actually a leader just from that. Ayew may be a shit footballer but you can see he actually cares
-
Well I think many of us (myself included) just started to think we’d turned a corner. 3 games where we’d been much much better and it just gave a bit of a false dawn. people are joking about the staff wages having an impact… but if you feel that type of energy around the training ground then it can seriously suck the wind out of you. They are human and I don’t doubt some of them wouldn’t care at all but there will be a lot that would be ashamed that their employer has done that
-
Ayew taking charge fair play but why is Ricardo stood their passively… who is the captain of this team?
-
Why would they want him
-
Last weekend?
-
And it won’t just be on here, the club will predictably follow that thought process.

The problem is, yes. He would have been on close to 100k at west ham and i think injury or not, his agent will be looking at how much we payed jamie vardy at his age and be thinking he can push for a high amount. Even with the injury, if hes training and proves himself fit and healthy, his agent will be coming in at 40-50k at the lowest. ( probably more if the wages we have on our books are to be believed) and then there would likely be a sign on fee worth a couple of mill. Theres no such thing as free transfer in football, the money just goes into someone elses hands
-
What annoys me about these deals is that they can end up costing you just as much as that diamond in the rough. If you take a punt on someone who’s doing well in a lower or foreign league with a higher potential, then the wages are far less to what a free agent with a profile will be asking for. This again, is laziness because the outlay won’t be a great deal less than if we’d paid for Kone in the summer. *fwiw I don’t know how signing bonuses are reflected in psr but my point stands
-
To me, the bigger issue is why on earth were we building around him in preseason. How damn stupid are we? I understand early pre-season keeping people fit. But the last couple of games are truly preparation for the season. How much of a cuck are we

Development/Youth Squads 2025/2026 Thread - U18/U21

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the more opportunities players from the academy get, the better the u23s seem to perform. It just provides that carrot and stick to them all -
Win 2 loose 1 doesn’t feel too unreasonable

Wait what… there’s more :
