Realistic Managerial Replacements
Lambert09 replied to winteriscoming's topic in Leicester City Forum
Think he’s a decent manager actually. Not sure why things didn’t work out at Norwich but he’ll do well with huddersfield and will be taking points off of us next season -
did he actually play though? Edit* looks like he got 3 appearances, what a waste for the poor lad.
-
If we ignore the millions of reasons this wouldn’t be possible, we are still left with a guy who wouldn’t go on loan to us when we were in the prem. he’s not dropping to a mid table championship team. im not sure if its possible because of the sunderland loan but Marc Gui is so incredibly well suited to us and id love for us to try and loan him
-
The only good second halves have been because we’ve gone behind and are chasing it while the other team changes to try and absorb pressure. Can’t think of a game where we’ve better team in both halves, possibly Ipswich but we tried our best to mess that up

Just like with ward and Justin last season, he needs dropping for his own mental health. It’s not going to get better for him. The manager needs to just accept that he’s not good enough. nothing aluko could do would be worse. I can accept conceding some silly goals from errors if the player has promise. I’ll accept them from Nelson as he develops but there’s nothing to gain from Thomas. He’s unfortunately just a league 1 player and shouldn’t be anywhere near this team.

Call me old fashioned but too much is made of ‘facilities’. If you’ve got some goals, a playable pitch and a coach a kid doesn’t need much more. nice to haves, not need to haves imo. -

This stuff annoys me, because it’s not down to good academy work. They throw money around and sign all the best young prospects. And in doing so, make it pretty impossible for players to actually push for the first team. they use it for profit and it’s detrimental in many ways because there’s only so much opportunity you can give. I honestly think youth prospects should be more tied down to an academy to prevent unnecessary hoarding and bloating. The national game would benefit for more evenly spread talent. -

Hopefully there’s some league 2 clubs scouting and he gets a loan. Desperately needs one -
Things appear to be going backwards at Leuven as well. If they end up going down (which is difficult in this format) then Top would have tanked absolutely everything good that was done before him.

Premier League has charged LCFC with an alleged breach of PSR

Tbf it’s probably good we’re a bit awful. Because let’s say we’d turned things around like Ipswich, it would have been a real kick in the nads if they hit us with a big point deduction. At least from mid table, we’re likely safe and yet still had no real reason to believe we could go up (without some big changes) -
Tbf in our situation, we could do with someone in their prime years. We can’t afford to be patient
-
That reverse through ball at the end was beautiful. Takes a lot of balls to pull that off at the stage of the game he did. I love a brave player
-
Of all the shite things he does, how do we not realise he can’t throw it that far. Surely in training they see he can’t get it that far, why do we line up like he’s got a delap and it never makes it past the first man. Embarrassing that we even line up for them

Hahahahhahahahhahhaa one game and the PR team is out stating that the manager didn’t want to sign him

The Managers: Claudio Ranieri, 2015-2017
Lambert09 replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
I hate when people pretend our club was amazingly run before our recent falls. The club let Claudio down massively that summer. a horrific pre-season plan, trying to be too big and wasting prep time on silly tournaments with a small squad. then the transfer window that simply was the worst we’ve ever had. That was the real fumble. We didn’t give Claudio a strong enough squad to compete on multiple fronts. I believe our incompetence cost Claudio a second magical season. We wouldn’t have win something but he deserved to last the champions league campaign and that wasn’t possible because of woefully shoddy recruitment. That was our biggest opportunity to close the gap and we missed it. We may have come back and done well with Rodger’s but imagine if we’d actually had a good window? We could have set up the club for a long long time -
James Justin sold to Leeds United - Official

I hate the way he left us tbh, had the worst spell of his whole career so we get this feeling that he was terrible. But id say overall he was a decent player for us. I did highlight at the time that we’d be in trouble letting him go and still feel that we’d be a far stronger team if he’d stayed. But the deal was too good to turn down -
Qpr have managed to get Ronnie Edward’s on a perm deal. That’s outrageously good for them. not sure what Southampton are thinking really, he’s been better than anyone they own the dream of Nelson and Edward’s lining up together is dead

Coventry (A) - January 17th 12:30pm - Pre Match Thread
Lambert09 replied to ramboacdc's topic in Leicester City Forum
Exactly. I find it mental when people act like top 6 is impossible, when it should be the bare minimum. The game against Ipswich just about proved it. They arguably have the best team in this division and because we actually decided to put some effort in, we absolutely wiped the floor with them. we absolutely have the potential to do that every week. But not under this manager and we all know that when he leaves our board get that next decision wrong. The biggest issue, is that under this board, each season we will get worse and worse. This is the best team we will have in the next 10 years without KP selling, how sobering of a thought is that? -
Oh wow, just completely forgot about the bloke

Who’s victor? I ain’t got a clue

It’s an interesting debate really, and either side could be right. I actually don’t think it would be a bad thing for us to have a forward who just stays in the danger areas. If I was JJ it would drive me crazy that when he looks up he doesn’t have a forward ready to put away a chance because ayew has wondered off to play winger. we would need to improve across the board to make it work but I would rather have a lazy goal scorer than a work horse who gets 3-5 goals a season
