  1. Dont underestimate coopers role in that signing. Cooper coached skipp at England youth levels, and would have been well aware of him at u18s when he was running the 17s after he moved up squads, I would bet my life he personally pushed for him
  2. Still think corberan would have been good for us
  3. Well said. Brighton have gained respect from the masses, but that’s simply because fans are weirdly obsessed with the actual business side of football. I think Brighton will look back and realise they wasted their golden generation and likely best opportunity to have a real go at something and that’s largely down to these rules. They are closer to doing a spurs then a Leicester. football is gross right now, I find it hard watching what’s happening to palace, selling everyone one, booted out of Europe for paperwork, it’s all just anti competitive. Bournemouth will be the next ones to be commended globally for taking their place in the food chain and kindly selling on their hard work to the big boys that come knocking. It’s all well and good but the people responsible for that building will eventually be poached as well and then they will fall away again… that’s the way it is all supposed to go
  4. Perhaps begovic was signed as #2 with this guy coming in as 3d choice. Not really something to worry about until your keeper gets injured
  5. Fatawu not starting
  6. That’s because coady was allowing 15 shots a game
  7. Noiccee
  8. Madness of a game
  9. Playing £10 simply covers the staff and effort to put it on. Jeez our fan base are tight. it’s less than paying to go to the cinema and you get to meet Abdul I don’t see the problem
  10. 3-1 down now unfortunately
  11. I’ve never seen him take one before and he pops that too bins, fair play
  12. It’s not a good look for Marti so far. I thought we were looking to focus on shifting to creating opportunities this season and not just another manager picking the best options to save their job… the whole club should be on board for taking a risk on youth. Monga is only playing because he is the best option rather than being developed for his pathway. I think what’s most frustrating is that the players blocking the pathway aren’t good enough anyway. If ayew was scoring regularly I’d accept that it’s fair enough. But he’s scored 1 in 9, daka has scored 1 in 40 or something daft… there’s just no reason not to give someone a chance because even if they flop massively, we aren’t any worse off. we won’t lose games because ayew, Daka , soumare or kristiansen aren’t on the field.
  13. I really hope ayew keeps Abdul out of the Ghana team for this break … it would be the most useful thing he could ever do for us
  14. Hahaha sounds like the pathway is clear to me ..
  15. He would have been Enzo’s dream. Did everything winks can do plus more
  16. It’s not useless for assessing your ability to create… it is useless for assessing your ability to score. Because for some strikers, they would regularly finish a low xg chance, because they are a good finisher. Where as a poor one would never finish that type of chance. If you have a player like fatawu your xg can get worse, because he is more likely to try and smash one from 40 yards.. where as a player like mcateer is more likely to try and create from that moment and thus creates a better xg chance. Yet you’d prefer to have fatawu and he’s still more likely to score from a hard chance than mcateer create from the same space. Sorry for all the waffle a players ability to pull something off isn’t measured unfortunately and that’s why the indications have to be taken with a grain of salt
  17. Came from Germany. Might be mistaken but pretty sure abe, whilst being relatively well known did come to us from the j league?
  18. People had serious blinkers on for mav last time out. I posted saying that he reminded me of Gray during his hot streak and that the amount of missed chances he had wouldn’t be sustainable in the prem and everyone called me ridiculous. But that’s because some people can’t see past goals. It’s the same people who give players a high match rating just because they scored even if they were muck all game. Bottom line with him is that he would never make the step to the prem because he needs too many chances and too many extra touches. Very similar to knockaert, he can make you fall in love in this league but it’s clearly evident the next level is a step too far. Fatawu on the flip side, the sky is the limit. He could very easily go to the top of the game if things go well for him. He has it all and we should cherish every game we get with him in our shirt. There will always be a part of me sad we didn’t get to see Facundo, Bilal and fatawu line up behind vardy for one game… because that could have been flames!
  19. I posted the same in another thread. If we’d just been willing to spend 5mill instead of maybe 2/3 m on a loan fee, we’d be looking balanced right now. Can anyone provide examples of a team going up without a decent striker? Goals win games and you can’t rely on a season of fatawu wonder goals because too often those will just be strikes into row z this below sort of backs that up:(only 3 non-strikers listed in 10 years) ### Promoted Teams from the EFL Championship to the Premier League (2015/16 to 2024/25 Seasons) Below is a list of all teams promoted to the Premier League over the last 10 completed Championship seasons (2015/16 through 2024/25). 20. Finally we are revisiting the Japanese market after our great success with Yuki Abe
  21. I wouldn’t consider that a good thing, if marti so much as has a Cambodian take away, he will end up as our boss. After 3 weeks of trying to woo potter of course
  22. The last 2 games, surprisingly his defensive work has been really good. He definitely feels the best option we have in this moment. he can obviously score goals…somewhere deep down in him that ability exists…. But I just don’t know if we will ever get to see it. remember when Hirst went on loan a few times and was dog muck but then on one of the loans (maybe Portsmouth) the manager just kept playing him, gave him a run of games ignored the fact he couldn’t score and then one day he popped one in and didn’t stop. Theres a best case scenario, where daka finds a goal and hits a run like that. Footballs an odd sport and it’s rarely as simple as someone’s shit or they’re not.
  23. Ipswich and Southampton are very clear evidence that this league isn’t as easy as it looks. I think everyone accepted they had a leg up on us this year. So sub par performances or not, we are doing better than most expected. We have room for improvement and I think that will come but Marti’s biggest problem is the fact we’ve not competently replaced vardy and that’s not on him.
  24. Kone scoring again really rubs the salt in. If we’d paid the 4/5 mill he cost we’d be cantering to the title imo
