But one of the main reasons we don’t, is because we don’t have a forward making the moves to create them. go and play 5 a side with a useless striker who won’t move into the right areas, there’s little you can do. Vardy would always be ready to find space and the players would know where to look for him. Ayew has no positional awareness as a number 9 and zero pace. Carrenza looks like a competition winner daka is the best of a bad bunch but has the touch of an elephant and also a complete lack of physicality, so he gets brushed off the ball whenever there’s a half chance.

The reason he needs to go is that the solutions are available and he’s ignoring them. The pure energy we would get from Evan’s, Nelson and aluko would lift the club. I’m not sure how everyone can see that except him. I’d be more patient if he’d tried these lads and they had failed in some way, like I can forgive dropping Page as he didn’t take his chance.

We would have been disappointed to sell Nelson for 15 m in the summer. We’d have been delighted to get 5m for faes. We came off the back of big fofana money and gave faes far more than he will earn anywhere else in his career. The base value of a player means nothing if they can’t match a players salary expectations. We will never know if Nelson is better if he doesn’t play, but the Nelson at Oxford was better than the faes we’ve had

The thing is though, faes will walk for free because nobody want to pay his wages. So the only asset we needed to secure the value of is Nelson and he’s also better at football. So whatever has happened with faes shouldn’t have had this impact

I don’t think there’s any obvious appointment that our board would go for that will improve us . We’d have to go outside of the box and we simply don’t do that. I think we would have a shortlist of Martin and Potter and potter probably still thinks he’s better than us.

If he keeps them up that’s a good appointment at the end of the day. Clubs can’t afford to take that risk.
