Watford post-match 2-0 Puel out chit-chat
jim5000 replied to Carl the Llama's topic in Leicester City Forum
Pretty bleak outlook considering we are experiencing our greatest sustained success for 50+ years. We are stable in the PL, world famous for winning the league, have a young exciting squad containing three England internationals, have scored in every match this season except 1, and haven't lost in the last two hugely eventful months, and you still expect the manager to sacked for losing to Man City and Spurs? -
Watford post-match 2-0 Puel out chit-chat

Thought they all played excellently. Only player that dissappointed was Gray. He's great at the dribbling and beating players, it's just his passing and finishing that need a lot of improvement. Typical Vardy first goal and great to see him playing like that again. Second goal was an amazing 4 player move. What made it so special was Maddison winning the interception in his own half, then 3 perfect passed, 2 amazing bits of skill, and a brilliant finish later and he's smashing it the back of the net having run 3/4 of the pitch to get on the end of the move he started. I'm sure Alex Ferguson would have snapped Maddison up for Utd if he was around 10 years ago. Chillwell was everywhere and played great. Pereira good. Centrebacks were solid but we could have been punished several times if their forwards had their shooting boots on in the second half. Good intensity and quality throughout though -
Wes looks injured

Plenty of quality and intensity on display today! Puel In

Amazing goal by City there! We're on fire

Are they using FIFA models for the broadcast line-ups? They all look very computer generated!

When I listen to Radio Leicester online it says the current program cannot be broadcast online due to contractual obligations.

Problem with this is he just hasn't been given a run in the team to get up to Premier League speed. He had a horrendous time when he joined the club, probably set him back months, and he has only been given a bit part chance to impress since.
-
Drinkwater's precision passes to the space Vardy was sprinting into was hardly hoofball
-
You could have said that a few seasons ago
-
We missed Maddison yesterday, without him there is no creativity in the team and nothing to unlock a defense like Burnley's. We just kept lumping it into the box hoping Vardy would win a header against their 6 foot+ defenders.
-
Basically teams can replace the pressing they did on Mahrez with pressing on Maddison, and shut down our only creative outlet. Such a shame we never got Mahrez and Maddy in the team together!
-
Cardiff the much better team so far. We’re offering nothing.

Good point
-
The problem is we always play with two defensive midfielders.
-
If you can't judge him on matches, what on earth can you judge him on? Every match will have it's quirks, but the manager should be able to exploit those that go their way and turn loses into wins. That's three on the bounce we've now lost, and in all of them we rarely looked like scoring, and we always look iffy at the back.
-
He preaches a possession based game, and that's what we got gifted to us on a plate but we just couldn't break them down. As honorable as his approach is we just don't have the players to play that way and break down teams in this league when they sit back against us. We'll never be above mid-table with this system as to make it work in the PL you need to spend hundreds of millions ala Man City.
-
No contact from the W Ham player, he just went over it at a horrific angle. Hope he recovers well but that could be a season ender for him.
-
Puel using Roy Hodgeson's old England tactic of putting all your strikers on the pitch when you're losing!
-
When Chillwell breaks down the front with only Vardy and Nacho ahead of him, why does neither of them (Vardy) come over to help him out? They expect him to beat 4 players by himself while both of them wait in the centre for the pass
-
Unless we are in real relegation danger, the trigger will not be pulled by the owners. Puel will get to the end of the season as a minimum as the owners see that his project is transitioning the team and the club into a stable PL setup with and ethos to focus on youth etc.
-
Ghezzal will never get up to speed if he only gets the odd 45mins. There's obviously something there, he just needs to get tuned into the speed of the PL.
-
No point bring Vardy on now. West Ham are just going to sit back for the next 45 minutes and ask us to unpick them, which we don't have the players to do. Vardy is next to useless against a team that sits back :-\

Noble pulled a right Morgan there
