Our wage bill was already obscene at this point. Multiple players on over £100k a week. In 2015/16 our wage bill was around £730k a week. In 2018/19 it had nearly doubled to about £1.3m a week. For reference, our 2018 /19 wage bill was more than Crystal Palace's current wage bill and they've achieved everything we have in that same time. Only they're still a Premier League team and we're on the brink of oblivion. Another is that we had more players on £50k a week or more last season than Sunderland who finished in Europe.

Personally open to letting it happen. Yes he's a calamity but at least he can control the ball and pass the ball. Has to be better than watching Souttar.

Modern managers whinge about too many games purely because they want to coach teams to within an inch of death. Players don't want it and fans don't want to see their team look shattered. Go back to letting individual quality win you games. Was much more fun.

That Spurs game came when we had quite an injury hit squad and our season was essentially confirmed as mid-table whilst they needed to win to continue their push to win the league. Don't think it was as bad as the others (despite it being the most we've conceded at home in this century).

Off the top of my head, since the turn of the century we've had the 5-0 against Villa and Bolton, the 6-1 against Spurs, 4-0 against Liverpool and Brentford and now this. I think these are the only 4 goal+ margins we've had at home but i'm probably missing something obvious.

We can't play a 3-4-3 because McFarlane or Thomas are entirely unsuited to playing at wingback. Gone out of our way to sign two big strikers yet we've got nobody who can swing a cross in.

It should be Dave Challinor. Available with a lot of experience in this league. Built Stockport up into a team that will probably go up this season. Would be the new Nigel Pearson IMO.
